You know whats really nasty habit? Chewin' Tobacky Anoles or Geckos? Geckos are nasty little bastards. Strike 3: The NYJ fight song.
I keep a gecko or two in the house. They're good luck and they help keep the roach population in the low 1000s.
Not sure. I know that the lizards that were around my house in Hollywood and then Sunrise didn't bite, if that helps. Sorry Joe.
Oh I'm so confused. I think I saw this one too. Thank goodness they're not up here in Jersey. Only spitters.
Check out SethDaddy's post. But for starters... New York City is close enough, but you don't have to live there Better schooling Better police forces
To each his own. Miami has nothing to offer me or anyone in NJ/NY below the age of 60. If you'll take Miami because you think you have better beaches, go right ahead, if beaches top out better schooling and police foreces, and New York City, and countless other things, so be it. Enjoy the beach, it will get you far. EDIT: I know Seth, Mary, Myself and the New Jerseyians won't get through here, since the majority of the board is from Florida, but to each his own.
not just the beaches. (it will get me far?....huh?) the weather. the restaurants. clubs. public facilities. LOW TAXES. just plain ole' better living.
hyperbole? I "always" answer my own posts? that was called a punchline to a joke. don't be the stereotypical jets fan.
Restaurants in NYC/NJ are 10x better. Public facilities, same thing. Clubs? Have you been to an NYC club? Low taxes? Yes, because its a ****tier way of life, minus the weather (big whoop). Whatever, enjoy it.
Restaurants in NJ are not even in the same hemisphere of Miami restaurants. and New York restaurants are overpriced and overrated. public facilities? the MOST FAMOUS ARENA IN THE WORLD..Madison Square Garden is a DUMP. YEAH I SAID IT. A DUMP. the Mets JUST GOT Bailout Ballpark but you had the worst stadium in history...SHEA. The AAA in Miami is the best ARENA in the WORLD. forget NJ's facilities...they are not close. remember that this thread is about Jersey. but since you brought up New York..it is time somebody just said it. Overrated, Overpriced. better living? HOW IS THAT BETTER LIVING? frozen and broke?
Madison Square Garden is a dump? Really? Please, you look foolish. They are also doing renevations to make it better. Forget about Yankee Stadium? That is the best stadium out there, despite the high prices to attend. Miami has the best Sports Arena? LOL!!!!! Frozen and broke? You do realize its only cold for about 4 months of the year? You do realize that NY/NJ has more $, a better style of living, more expensive living BECAUSE IT IS BETTER, NOT BECAUSE IT IS WORSE. People up here will make more money doing the exact same thing down there. New York restaurants over-rated? LOL. I can't deal with you anymore. You are just so wrong on so many aspects its hilarious. Try being less of a homer when you want to debate a city and area. Boston is another city that trumps Miami. As well as Los Angeles. But hey, you've got Florida beaches, YEAH!! Awesome!!! Enjoy the land of the Old and Cuban.
YOUR being the homer bro..... I can think of like 50 other states I would rather live in then that craphole! I would rather live off one of those heavily wooded exits in PA than that wast of space that is NJ.
what is that about? hey..this thread was about jersey...but you brought up New York..so I decided to break the news to you. been to Boston as well. LA too. BOTH are better than NYC. yes the NEW Yankee Stadium is great..it is NEW. Yet the fans HATE it. the REASON you have TWO NEW Baseball Stadiums and getting a new football stadium and doing RENOVATIONS to MSG IS BECAUSE The ones that stand (MSG) is a dump and the ones that will be NO longer are currently Dumps. you see..that is WHY you usually renovate... make more money? pay more in taxes. thus...cost of living. heard of that term? I wonder if you have ever been here in Miami. and YES..the BEST arena in the world is the AAA.
You don't know New Jersey. You take one road trip here, from what I read went to some crappy f'ing place in it as well, and you think you know the state? Get real. I'm only the homer in your eyes because I'm a Jet fan and that is a FACT. I'm stopping here, because like I said, I can't win because the New Jersey folks here are a small number. BTW man, you live in Ohio, please don't talk. Ohio and Michigan are basically CLOSED.
Alright everyone - back off to your corners please. We can all agree to disagree. I've been in some beautiful places in Jersey and studies show that we have the best public schools bar none up here in the Northeast, but I'd still rather live in Florida - for the weather alone - not for the clubs, etc. I'm just not a cold weather type of gal. I moved up here to get married because hubby could not make the money in Florida that he made up here, in his chosen field. I haven't been to South Beach in years - last time I was there my mother and I got robbed in a public garage. That's not to say that doesn't happen in Jersey. When I lived in East Orange, I got knocked out and robbed walking on the sidewalk by a 13 year old. There are pros and cons to each state.
MSG is not a dump, it is an old Arena, therefore, it needs renovations, please try agree to the common sense most of us here in America have agreed upon. If you think "AAA" is the best Arena, you're sorely mistaken. Make more money, pay more taxes, have I heard of it? yes I have, and at the end, WE STILL HAVE MORE. Like I said, I'm done here. You want to believe that **** hole is something special? Go right ahead. Millions of others differ. They don't travel to see Miami. They come travel to see New York. Even this own damn websites official draft party was in NJ/NY area. Think about that one for a while.
they don't? LOL this place is a "****hole"? have you been here? have I mentioned that we actually have an "outdoors"? as in..we actually go outside to fish, hunt..recreate ourselves? and yes..I repeat..the AAA is the best. go there to catch a game. see WHAT is around that arena. seriously..have you been here? notice that I have not called NYC a ***hole..but you insist on calling where I live..one. Just saying..Miami is a better place to live. remember that the jersey jokes were lighthearted. you started this. I suggest you start a thread if you want to compare. (Miami vs. NYC)
just not sure why your taking such offense to people hating NJ.....did your forefathers found the state? Do you put on for your city? I mean dude you buzzed in and acted like we were smacking around your first born.... Some of us think NJ sucks big deal...no need to take it personal. By the way a lil FYI.....there isnt a better place to be on a saturday than Columbus, Ohio on gameday! We know how to do it. C'mon down one weekend (when your 21) and you will see an awesome party!
Keep Jersey. Keep New York. Keep Miami. Keep Peoria. I'll take Honolulu. Oahu is the center of paradise. Here's my 3-step, 5-year plan to move to Hawaii: Step 1: Wait 5 years Step 2: Step 3: Move to Hawaii.
You know what is fun to do with spit? Walk down a crowded street in San Francisco. Hawk up the biggest loogie you can, and as you go to spit, throw your head violently back upon release. To the point where you almost give yourself whiplash. Be sure to keep your head back for a split second to keep the spit clear from whacking you in the face. All of this as you continue to walk forward. Approximately 2.4 seconds after you have released the reverse loogie, you will most likely hear a woman scream, or at least a guy who screams like a woman. That is when you nonchalantly smile like a cheshire cat and continue walking like nothing ever happened. Did I mention that I am part native american and part evil?
I don't think, if you are comparing New Jersey to Florida, that you are allowed to argue anything with New York. As much as New Jersey-ites would love to think that their state is as important as New York, it isn't. This, I think, above all else is why they even name their teams after another state. Why? Because they feel inferior for some reason. Anyhow, the point is, you have to compare New JERSEY to Florida, not New York. And at Joe using better schools as an argument. Aren't you 20? You don't have kids. What does it matter to you what the school system is like? Besides, it can't be THAT great. I mean, it taught you to be a Jets fan... A halfway decent school would at least get you to root for New Jersey's A football team.
