http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blo...ider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=nfl_afc Remember when head coach Romeo Crenel was flipping a coin to decide who should start at quarterback for the Browns in the preseason? Charlie Frye or Derek Anderson? It was a close call at the time and Crenel decided that Frye was the best option for starting the season. Obviously that isn't an issue anymore, but Cleveland has a huge decision looming about the most important position on their football team once again and they better not use a coin flip to determine it.
Honestly as well as Anderson has been playing, you would almost have to stick with him, I would think.
I'd put the highest tags possible on him (1st and 3rd), which still gives you the option to match. It's unfortunate for Cleveland that they basically traded up for nothing. But you don't let a sure thing at that position get away. Who knows, Anderson could suffer a catastrophic injury and you'll end up going with Quinn anyway. In today's league, the odds are that Quinn will be forced into action.
That's what I think they will do. I don't know about the rest of you, but I think Anderson will be a better pro than Quinn.
Anderson can throw it deep, for one. He's got 27 total TDs thru 12 games. Quinn might never reach that and still have a good career. He's only a year older than Quinn.
