I won't say you absolutely have to. But I would definitely recommend you watch it. Its a good movie and it will make TDK better than if you didn't.
I am probably alone on this...but I actually think Begins is the better of the two. If not for the Joker, TDK isn't as good as it is, IMO.
Batman Begins was on last night. I really wish they kept Katie Holmes for TDK. Maggie Gyllenhal is the better actress. But Katie Holmes is so cute and she was sporting a banging body in Batman Begins. At least half the time she is on camera she is sporting some pointy nips. That may be reason enough to see BB before TDK. The Joker is such a perfect enemy for Batman. He is the reason why TDK worked so well.
Both Movies are great, I highly recommend watching them both, just so you can see how the first movie led into this one and the ones that will follow.
I think Holmes was pregnant during the shooting so I don't think they had an option. But if they could have I agree with you. I know some criticized her but I thought she was fine in the role. I think the criticism was mostly a backlash against Tom Cruise. And I liked seeing the nips.
Yeah I agree the Tom Cruise thing played into it. Watching it last night I noticed where she seemed to be forcing some lines. But overall I think she pulled off the relationship between her and Bruce. I found their connection to be believable and I think having Holmes in TDK might have made the continuation of that relationship just a little more compelling.
I disagree, I think both enemies did a great job highlighting the differences between themselves and batman. TDK worked so well IMO because it showed all of civilizations struggles with whats right and whats wrong. Batman Begins works so well because it highlights the inner struggles of a young bruce wayne and his self discovery very well as well as higlights what is justice. Both carry the message of hope very well.
Next on Oprah, Lucky, teaches men how to get in touch with our feelings, through embracing what he likes to call, "The Male's Inner Vagina"
The enemy in BB was very good. Nothing against him. He was necessary for Bruce Wayne to become Batman. I think the reason I liked the Joker better is because he pushes Batman to his limits. He is the ultimate test. He forces Batman to essentially put up or shut up. And by doing so he questions Batman's entire existence. Maybe I just found the civilizational struggles more compelling. And the Joker was the one orchestrating those struggles brilliantly.
Scarecrow was an unexpected, but fantastic villain to kick off the rebirth of the franchise, between him and Raas Al-Ghul, Batman faced two very gritty enemies.
Then we can talk about how you beat yourself every night cause you have no woman... Oh, just cause my wife is taller than you, doesn't mean she's a lumberjack. Everyone's taller than you, Willow.
You jackass...that's me. Talk about stoopid. I can't believe you're insulting my wife. All I can say to that is eff you and the horse you rode in on.
The Dark Knight is a really awesome movie, but to me there is only one theme for batman: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4ydxgekFls"]YouTube - Batman Main theme[/ame] I would love to see this incorporated somehow in the future movies.
Souds alot like this theme song from the same guy [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wN_xaAXroJc"]YouTube - Soundtrack: Main Titles (Charlie And The Chocolate Factory)[/ame]
So any timetable on when the next movie will be released and is Johnny Depp a shoe in for The Riddler?
I haven't heard anything. I don't even think Nolan has signed on to direct a third movie. Until his name is attached to something I'm not believing any rumor.
