think of it this way. Detroit won tonight and are now tied for the #7 seed. Orlando was 0-3 against Detroit this year and has a horrible history in the playoffs against the Pistons. At least it wont be Detroit to end the Magics season this year.
Good point. Speaking of horrible, I hope Turkoglu is ok after the loss to the Nets tonight, he twisted his ankle in the 4th and he looked to be in serious pain.
Looks like Turkoglu will be ok. "With the postseason scheduled to begin in six days or a week, Turkoglu likely had Magic fans clutching their chests after contorting his ankle on a drive. X-rays proved negative, although the club's fourth-quarter go-to guy likely will not play Monday night in Milwaukee. With his swollen appendage on ice afterward, Turkoglu gave a thumb's up from the trainer's room. "I'll be OK," he said with a nod." http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/basketball/magic/orl-sportsmagic12041209apr12,0,2229562.story
'Da Bulls won, guaranteeing the Pistons as the 8th seed, so now they have to play in Cleveland in the 1st round.
They sat everybody tonight, Turkoglu is letting his ankle heal, Rashard's got tendinitis in his knee, and Howard's resting for the playoffs.
its painful to watch the magic suck this bad at the end of the season. but with no room to move up or down, i guess it makes sense. Hopefully they arent rusty for the first home game.
The Magic ended a 3 game streak with a win against Charlotte in the last regular season game. Chicago lost and Philly won tonight, so the Bulls play Boston and Orlando get the 76'ers, who we swept in the regular season. But this is the playoffs, anything can happen.
Magic need to show more aggressiveness on offense, Howard was almost invisible during the final stretch of the season. We definitely need Jameer Nelson, although SkipToMyLou isn't doing half-bad. I hope Rashard Lewis picks up his game and Hedo drives to the hoop more often. We may not beat Philadelphia is what ESPN is saying, I sure hope they are wrong.
Big Magic fan from Cincinnati. What's the story on Hedo and Rashard - are they going to be available vs. Philly?
Philly has been tanking for a while now.... they are dangerous in one respect.....they WILL outplay you in the back court...so you gotta dominate the paint. You win the rebound battle...you can't lose. I got you guys winning it 4-1...just because Miller, Iggy and Thaddeus can go nuts from time to time....so they will take a game... but they have come into this series ice cold and hurt.
We rested everybody to get ready for this. Rashard won't be 100%, but it's better than nothing. Turkoglu will be playing hurt, but again, it's better than him sitting for the game. Good luck with Atlanta man, I'd hate to see any Miami team go out to another state.
Ahh, Cleveland beat Detroit. I thought that would happen, but I 'd hate to win the whole thing without beating the Pistons, that would be a thorn in our side. They've given us a rough time this season.
Agh, to be ahead by 18 at one point and lose at home was disappointing. Hard to watch. Hats off to Philly though, they clawed their way back and deserved the win. Still a lot of basketball left to play.
Kinda figured after reading in the a.m. about an upcoming Orlando Magic press conference this afternoon. Dwight Howard wins Defensive Player of the Year Award
It's a joke if you ask me that Lebron got 2nd. it was a lock that Wade should have gotten 2nd. anyway...congrats to Dwight Howard. he deserved it.
Magic game's not on TNT tonight, they're showing the Heat & Hawks game, so I guess I have to watch online. Go Magic! Good luck to the Heat though, hope they have a better game than Sunday.
It's on NBA TV. Not getting the ball into Dwight enough. Philly came out on fire....good game so far.
I'm a Sixers fan and Ill say that they suck and shouldn't even be in the playoffs. Ill still cheer for them tough but they lack the pure shooter.(AI back in philly next season??)
Good first half. Courtney Lee was great at the end of the half. Sixers did pretty good on Sunday, but I'm definitely not hoping for a repeat of that comeback. BTW, thanks for the heads up Section, unfortunately NBA TV isn't in my satellite package. Got it online broadcasting.
Magic win 96-87 Dwight fouled out with too much time left but they handled it pretty good. Courtney Lee had a great game tonight. Series is tied at 1 each
After Dwight complained about his 4th foul, the ref was on a mission to foul him out. He only played 1 minute in the 4th quarter and had 2 phantom fouls called on him in that span. His 6th foul was completely ridiculous. I think the Magic played well without Dwight. Mostly because the 6ers didn't know what to defend with Dwight on the bench. When Dwight is on the floor, its too easy to guess what the Magic are doing. Their gonna rotate the ball around the perimeter, and try to get an open look to Dwight. If that doesnt work, they will drive inside and pass it back out for an open 3. You cant run the same two plays all game long and expect it to keep working. Im very happy with Courtney Lee's performance. He's the best mid range shooter on this team. He has some clutch in him.
stay tuned saturday for the Madden cover release. EA is launching their Madden 10 marketing campaign during the draft. I think Ronnie will be on the cover.
