im not sure how his style is way different, his style seems like the same as a lot of different rappers IMO. i have this feeling of wanting to fast foward his verses, just overall not bad, but a little boring. he sounds the same through out the whole verse and he seems to keep the same flow as well, which is often something i cant listen to much. a song here and there, but overall just not enough to keep me interested. im still going to give him a little more chance, but just not a fan so far...

btw man, i see in your location you have i cant feel my face, im not sure if you truly know what that means but if you do, be careful with that. ive seen a lot of people take it to the next level. im not saying dont do it if its your thing, i got nothing against it, ive been around it since i could walk, but its a whole different level then green, so just be careful.

Sigh. Same as every other Ross album. About 4-5 hot songs and the rest is filler.

I'll give him credit, he picked some nice beats and does have a good flow in a lot of these songs. But the ****ty chorus', girly R&B tracks and features, and lack of creativity killed him again. Not to mention having Trina and Foxy Brown on the album. Also, he took Maybach Music (which was a great track IMO) and completely turned it into **** with the sequel.

    Another letdown from Ross, IMO.

    I love Jay, but I absolutely hate 90% of Game's ****.

I like his 1st album. But after that he's been on a pretty steady decline IMO. And you have to wonder how much of that is from him not being with Dre and 50 anymore. It sure seems they had a very large hand in making The Documentary.

I'm just tired of his bs really. The 50 beef is ******ed at this point and he'll always say he's over it then bring out a diss 2 mins later. I hate when he constantly name-drops and says the same **** (daytons, bloods, weed) over and over. When he stays away from that he's aright.

i like all 3, game is underrated IMO. i love games music for the most part, BUT...dude is weird as ****...

Jada is a monster...though he doesnt sell much and isnt commercial, i dont think ive ever heard anyone who truly listens to hip hop say anything bad about him. Styles P is another underrated MC IMO, Gangster and a Gentlemen is a personal classic(yes its that good IMO).

Jay is #2 all time for me. pac is #1 for me, considering how young he was when he died, i cant help but think how crazy those albums released after his death would of actually been, not to mention all his newer verses. Its hard to judge BIG because of how little material he put out when he was alive...

...i know its useless to argue ones taste, but i just gotta disagree so much. after 2 spins this album is hot as ****. the thing i love about Ross's albums are his replay value. for me i thought Port of Miami and Trilla were average CDs until i listened to them more and more and started to love them. this album definitely puts him over 50 now IMO. he has 3 fire *** albums(no classics as of today though), while 50 has 1 fire *** album(near classic) and 1 average album(massacre), 1 terrible album(curtis)

i read this somewhere else and thought it fit perfect with Ross and the way he raps....as weird as it sounds his music up lifts me almost, like i feel like a millionaire or some ****, i cant describe it.

im kinda pissed because i got to work tomorrow so i need to get turn it off soon

    BOSS!

BTW slickj101 i was meaning to ask you this before because of our conversation about The Massacre, what songs do you actually like off that CD, im just trying to compare our tastes..like for me, i have 7 songs from that album on my ipod. In My Hood, Im Supposed to Die Tonight(by far my favorite song on the album and i cant believe Em produced that. One of the craziest beats ever), Ski Mask Way, Gunz Come out, Peace in the Valley, God Gave me style, I dont need em...theres a couple other decent songs on the album. with 20 something tracks that equals a pretty average album to me...

As far as production I guess I could see why you like Ross so much. He does manage to get some amazing beats and his flow was nice on most of that album. Songs like Maybach Music 2 (just a disgrace after how good the 1st was), Gunplay, Bossy Lady (come on), Lay Back, and the 2 broad songs just really knocked the album down pretty far for me. Yacht club sounded so good till that ******ed chorus w/the jamacans.

As for the massacre. First, Idk what Peace in the Valley is? Those other songs you listed are def in my fav for 50. I also like:

Piggy Bank- Really liked the beat and he think he took some decent shots on it. Chorus was nothing special.

Outta Control, Just a Lil bit, - Def nothing amazing, but both are really good club songs IMO. They have nice beats and the lyrics aren't bad. I wish this was as far as 50 would go for club songs though instead of **** like Candy Shop and Disco Inferno, which had no business being on the album.

Baltimore Love Thing- The song was from 50 talking from Heroin's point of view. Thought it was a different concept and def atypical for 50. Weird song but I thought it was interesting.

Ryder Music- Great beat and it does wonders in the system. Just a real smooth song.

Hate It or Love it Remix- Solid beat and everyone who was on it was pretty solid.

So that's like 11-13 good songs on a single album. It's def not a classic or anything. But those 11-13 good songs are def more quality than most artists will give you on their albums. For example, Ross only had 4-5 songs I thought were quality. With only 4-5 it's no replay value for me. I'll grab those songs, but not the album.

Hell, these days your lucky to get 11 songs total on an album.

I still really like what 50 did with the GRODT soundtrack and Beg For Mercy too.

its not just the beats for me...yes his production is good, but you put a wack flow over the beat and all the sudden the songs are not good.

Ross's flow, delivery, swag, and yes i like his lyrics is what makes him good to me. hes not Nas lyrically, but i think hes good..specially in todays game.

Yact Club is that song man, i like the chorus...

either way, i cant wait to see what 50 has in store...ive been excited for every CD he has had, and disappointed greatly the last 2...so, we'll see..

I think he'll put out something quality. I think he just said **** it I'm gonna go as commercial as possible and get as many features as I can on Curtis. That's prob why it was such a piece of ****.

This one should be good. It's his last album on Interscope so it may be awhile for another album after this. I think he knows he needs to hit a homerun on this one or his career is in the ****ter.

    That's for sure.

I was suprised Ross didn't have much to say to him on the album. Kinda gay that the only diss he really put on there was for Tony Yayo lol. Idk why he went after Trick Daddy like that either.

Well if you're going to hype up your album and part of the advertisement is that it has a big 50 diss, then you should deliver.

The Trick diss is on Valley of Death. He says something like "Trick's got Aids but he's calling it lupis." (Trick Daddy is really ****ed up health wise right now).

yea i caught that part, but i thought he said before that "he said in his first raps" then after he said that about Trick he said "im not the one to jump to conclusions" so im not to sure if thats a diss or not, im not to sure what hes really saying, whether someone else said that or not..

but he shouldnt have a problem with trick, but supposibly when the CO stuff first came out it was Trick that let it out. and Ross said he was lame for that, but as far as dissing him thats stupid.

    lmao urban dictionary? haha.

btw, i know no one on this board really cares cuz most dont like the same music as me, but after a little while with Ross's album, its still pretty damn good..

Mafia Music - 5/5 - he opens up with about 4 minutes on straight spittin with no hook, mean beat, mean flow, and comes hard lyrically
Maybach Music 2 - 3/5 - decent song if you forget the name of it. it doesnt come close to MBM 1, but its still decent.
    Magnificent - 4.5/5 - really good song.
Yacht Club - 4.5/5 - beat, flow and lyrics go hard. i personally love the Jamaican hook, can understand some not liking it though
Usual Suspects - 4.5/5 - Ross holds his own against one of the GOATs in Nas on a mean as beat.
All I Really Want - 3.5/5 - When i first heard it i was really feeling it. i think its a good song once you get into the flow of the song and listen to it.
Rich Off Cocaine - 5/5 - Great song
Lay Back - 4/5 - Robin Thicke kills the hook, good beat, good flow, single material
Murder Mami - 4/5 - Wasnt a fan when first heard this, it has Foxy Brown on the track. but it great on it, its actually a really good song even with Foxy on it.
Gunplay - 4/5 - Hood song right here, Gunplay is decent to me, and his flow on this song is actually pretty nice. different hook then the rest of the album to, diverse. "shootin for the win, but ready for the loss!"
Bossy Lady - 4.5/5 - This is that heat. im not always a fan of chick tracks, but i cant even hate on that one.
Face - 2/5 - This just doesnt appeal to me. Take Trina off the track and it would be much better, beat and Ross is mean. Trina ****s it off however.
Valley of Death - 5/5 - WOW! Lucky for the album they follow up a piece of **** song with the song of the year IMO. i got nothing to say on expect its just ridiculous. every part of the song, is ridiculous.
In Cold Blood - 4/5 - Another hood track, Ross comes correct on it, beat does to.
Cigar Music(Bonus Track) - 4.5/5 - This is a perfect laid back track to end the CD.

Overall i give it a 4.5/5. if he took Face off the album and just put Cigar Music on the regular album and came with some maybach music 1 type **** instead of that, its a near classic for me. but its still a great album IMO.
