i've been saying that the draft is gonna be somewhat sad for me because were gonna miss out on either dorsey or long. I'am still torn between the two, but i saw two things during the chris long video that gave me hope and conviction. 1} Chris Longs body has tremendous room for growth, with that kids hands, instincts, and motor i tell you, his frame has the potential to get up to 285 in two three years, the dude could be lethal at that weight. trust me on this one, his frame is ready. 2} when that dolphin scout walked up to him in that video it was somewhat obvious to me the exchange they had. CHRIS LONG WILL BE THE PICK.
Dorsey doesn't have a "back" injury, he had a badly bruised coccyx (Tailbone) that bothered him for quite a while. Ask anyone how long it takes for one of those to quit bothering you and how painful it is! His only "injury" problem that is of any real question is the possible stress fracture that has been mentioned. The surgery that he supposedly had on his knee is just hyperbole, no facts behind it.
I have been a C. Long proponent from the beginning, but if we decide to take Dorsey, it won't upset me in the least. Either/ or, it's a win-win for the Dolphins in my book!
I've got to say I'm glad to see you here. In spite of your having been cloistered in the VIP of FH for the past????? I always enjoyed your views in the past. I think I was one of the only other fans who believed AJ Feeley was going to be successful once we signed him.
Ack Laddy, every time I see Chris Long, I see Matt Roth..I know that is not fair to CLong, but it's just...I've been hurt in the past....
Thanks for the post FFIC!! Our DEF is going to look totatlly different. Lots of new players to watch and evaluate. Ireland and Parcells said they were going to reshape this roster and they haven't wasted any time in doing it. The draft is going to be exciting with Professionals running the show for a change.
I was born a poor Dolphins fan, I can remember..<sniff> <sniff> the two Super Bowls in the 80's and a couple of guys named Bosa, Kumerow and and Roth...and now here comes the next guy....after Duhe...it's just not the same, they try...but it's not the same...
things are relaxing abit and the humor starting to come back. i started the off season as a strong proponent of Dorsey due to the lack of talent up the middle. but recently have been in the C long camp...the kid is gonna explode at the next level. now, i'm not so sure any more. i would be happy with either though.
Sincere question concerning Dorsey. I understand that he's got huge talent. But he also wore braces on his legs when he was 3. He had a leg injury in 06 and a knee injury in 07. In spite of the leg issues Dorsey is still ranked in the top 5. So is it that Dorsey has so much talent and potential that the risk is worth the reward? Or is the general thought that there is no issue with his legs/knees?
I don't think they see his "injuries" as too much of a risk, apparently. He took that chop block and had some lingering issues, but did finish the season. The rumor about him having surgery, he has out right denied in an interview. The only real "worry" anyone could find was calcification of a stress fracture in one of his legs. That was discovered and checked out at the Combine. Apparently he has passed all the medical exams and has been deemed NFL worthy.
