T.J. Ford is embarrassing Luther Head.

6 straight for Ford then he sets up a wide open three for Granger because the entire defense has to commit due to Head losing him on the ends. That's a personal 9-0 run against Luther Head.

This team is garbage now... I don't know what happened. We were rolling. Now we're 2-6 in our last 8 games and we haven't played a SINGLE team with a better record than ours (aside from the lucky win against Utah). Boston doesn't count because that team was completely depleted.

Worst time possible to go into a MAJOR slump with the playoffs less than a month away.

I am extremely worried about that 5th seed. We have no shot... I repeat... no shot at taking down Boston or Orlando in a 7 game series. Honestly, if I was a betting man I'd bet on BOTH of those teams wiping Miami off the map in 5 games at max, possibly 4. Atlanta and Cleveland are our matches. We have to finish strong to have that opportunity. If we lose tomorrow night, then IMO it's Philly's spot to lose.

 

BTW - No disrespect to Pacers fans, but **** your arena. I hate that arena with all passion associated with basketball. I am actually happy that the franchise has lost over $200 million in the last decade and may lose out on that arena. I don't want to play there anymore.

I really question the decision to swap Head and Cook in the rotation due to a major shooting slump. The difference between the two is SIGNIFICANT defensively, and it's not like Head is lighting it up offensively. I know that Head can run the point (somewhat), but he's in there playing 2 guard quite a bit... I don't like the fact that we've gone away from Cook.

Please tell me he doesn't receive the Dorell Wright treatment.

 

Head is a lot worse defensively than I thought... he gambles 2x more than Mario Chalmers, and that is A LOT. He gets burned most of the time, too. I do like Luther Head but he has no business seeing more minutes than Daequan Cook. But then again Udonis Haslem has no business receiving more minutes than Michael Beasley, but that has happened in all 60+ of our games this year. I guess I just don't understand the direction of this basketball team. Well, we don't really have a direction. Basically to lead this team all that is required is to say the quote in my signature out loud in the huddle.

 

Haslem simply should NEVER have the basketball in his hands unless he's completely wide open.

Nothing good ever comes from it... only a terrible shot, terrible pass, terrible drive to the basket, etc.

 

Unless Dwyane Wade is scoring 40 points is there even a point in watching this basketball team?

And to make matters worse I just watched three players (Beasley, Chalmers, Haslem) stand in front and on the side of John Salmons and he got an uncontested layup out of it.

This team obviously isn't being challenged in practice. Weakest basketball I've seen in a 9 game span. Not even last season did we play so weak; we just sucked.

2-7 in our last 9 barring a miraculous Dwyane Wade comeback. Notice I didn't say "Miami Heat" comeback because this is NOT a basketball team.

Udonis Haslem missing 2-3 uncontested layups per game.
Jermaine O'Neal not even jumping for rebounds. (my apologies to Ira, he does suck)
Luther Head dribbling 20 seconds off the shot clock.
Mario Chalmers gambling for every steal. (but he's a rookie playing the toughest position with no veteran guidance)
Jamario Moon just "out there" 50% of the time.
Jamal Magloire the first big off the bench; problematic on its own.
Michael Beasley getting 20-25 minutes per game, often playing next to fellow 6'8 forward Udonis Haslem which puts the tandem at an automatic disadvantage.
Daequan Cook now afraid to shoot the basketball.
James Jones putting on a half *** James Posey imitation.

I hope Orlando or Boston sweeps this team if we are too garbage to hold onto the 5th spot.

 

this is why we need better, more aggressive post presense.

this why we need better perimeter defenders(especially at the 3). im not at all convinced that were a good defensive team. our guys look lost on assignments and fall into the habit of watching dwade play on offense. we need players who are more willing to be part of the participate instead of being spectators on the courts.

Daequan Cook logged FOUR MINUTES tonight and we're 2/10 shooting from three.

He logged SIX MINUTES last night and we went 3/17 from three.

I don't want to hear that garbage anymore; this coach is a joke if our best shooter isn't given the green light to SHOOT HIS WAY out of his and OUR slump. He's ALL WE HAVE.

Maybe it's because I can't see the games, so I can appreciate the humor in these posts.

 

Section has no one to blame about someone cursing the Heat this year.

 

I hope you guys take it to the Celtics in the first round. I really think Wade could give them some trouble since they really have no one to guard him if the Heat were to say put Wade and a legitimately sized SF on the floor (Moon or especially Beasley) at the same time.

What Allen is going to hold back Beasley. Ray Allen is going to guard D-Whistle?

Might have a chance of taking one there. Plus you've got some decent toughness to battle the Celtics. You're built like the 05-06 Laker team that took Pheonix to seven games.

 

two career game winners... and yes, he gets a ton of put backs because he's one of the scrappiest players in the league. I LOVE UDONIS HASLEM. how could you not? i'm merely pointing out the fact that he has a ton of flaws. he should not be a starter. he's the perfect 6th or 7th guy in the rotation; nothing more unless he's got a center like Shaq to shield his flaws.

 

something obviously happened behind closed doors for Daequan to lose that confidence. he's one of the most confident players on the team... the guy probably has as much or more confidence in his game as Dwyane Wade. I've never seen him so afraid to shoot the ball before. SOMEONE said something to him. I am 110% sure of it.

and not only was Luther Head recruited by Wade, but Riley tried to make a move to select him a few years ago in the draft... I like Luther Head. He simply hasn't earned the right to play ahead of Daequan Cook in the rotation. The argument that "WADE wants him to have minutes" is moot, but even then, if that's the decisive factor in the rotation then Erik Spoelstra needs to look himself in the mirror, locate his vagina, and find a way to get back what belongs there.

 

On a positive note... Philly is getting their asses kicked (down 17 at the half) by Charlotte right now.

 

What happened to our team, though, guys? They're not just in a slump. At the beginning-mid of the season this was a scrappy bunch. They went after every loose ball and fought hard as hell on the defensive end. It's not that we're playing bad... every team has its slumps. I'd be OK with simply losing due to a slump. But we're not playing with ANY EFFORT or ANY EMOTION out there.
