Too quick fin..too quick...it doesn;t allow for situational subs....

one call to the scorers table per quarter.

in and out ..ina nd out...doesnt; help the team.

If anything..SPO is letting Beasley finish alot of games lately. Beasley is being brought up fine.

This has absolutely nothing to do with whether he is being brought up right or not...

Its about whats best for our team right now. We need Beasley on the floor a greater % of the time in order to win more games. Starting him w/ 14 games left isnt going effect his development. But it will effect our W/L record...

Of course, Beasley finally gets 17min in the first half, goes 6-9, and I get home later than I thought I would and miss it... :pity:

So let me get this straight:

Dwyane Wade returns, Devin Harris sits, Vince Carter goes 5/18 from the field, anddddd... we lose????

I missed the game (went out) but I am curious as to how this one went down.

If we make the playoffs it doesn't matter what seed. If we can't beat anyone we don't DESERVE to be champions. So as long as we get in (which we will) I'm okay.

and they played without rip, iverson and sheed, and we still struggled. whats with us not matching up better with team that are missing their all-stars?

    It's psychological.

teams missing players play really hard. we are a team that struggles on the glass and when you have a team that plays that hard and beats you that bad on the glass...you get a close game.

BTW, I figured out one of our problems....

Our perimeter defense has been great all year. Chalmers perimeter defense has been really bad since the all-star break and he is setting guards loose on our big people, and they are having to fill the lane and thus leave the boards unattended.

Part of our problem is Chalmers hitting the rookie wall, defensively. forget the gaudy stats he puts up.

well...we did have that game won in BOSTON. and lost in overtime...against Rondo and Pierce.

So I would argue that we did.

But in the short run...teams missing their stars play extremely hard and the refs let them get away with more, so they end up forcing close games.

i think were missing on the transitional defense and also locking our guys up one-on-one down the stretch seems to be hurting us. we also dont have a shutdown specialist. Moon, james jones, and diawara combined arent as good as a bruce bowen or a dan marjele. we need one more spot up shooter and one more defense specialist.

I agree with that..although our transition Defense has been decent all year. even better than our championship year's transition D.

    as for spot up shooters...

we got Moon, Jones, and Cook. that is more than enough spot up shooters.

i like moon and cook, but i dont think jones has lived up to his (limited) billing. we need more production off the bench and in addition one more "size" guy to fill in for whoever is the PF next year. We need a big guy whos going to be more aggressive in the paint, be it a PF/C who can either produce off the bench or could be a replacement for Haslem to play alongside O'Neal. Beasely i think is going to be a big SF in our system, hes just not big and bulky enough to be a PF in Riley's system. We need a guy who can push people around in the paint. Haslem is not aggressive enough nor really is O'Neal(he never really was, he just has used his height to his advantage). As much as I like Haslem, i think its time for a change with our approach to how we play our PF/Cs in the paint.

Couldn't disagree more. Jones had a broken wrist for most of the year...remember.

Beasley is a Power Forward. Spo thinks so. Riley thinks so. and my source thinks so as well.

he is the Power Forward next year.

to me he seems like a more athletic and taller version of mashburn. personally i think hes better suited at the 3. I would love to have a chris bosh type at the 4 instead. maybe thats what theyre looking at, giving beasely a chance to see what he can do next year at the 4 and then wait til 2010 when bosh is availible again and re-evaluate the position.

JO will be fine. Hes gotten better in each game.

But long term, we really need to look for a young, physical center who can compete with the likes of Dwight Howard.

you either sign Amare in 2010 or you will have no luck in looking for somebody to compete with Howard.

    that guy doesn't exist.

Amare is going to be older and a lot more worn by then. One more injury and he might be toast. Bosh is the type of player we need. We dont need a Howard clone, but a guy that can go toe-to-toe with him and fight hard. Either we groom someone via the draft or we sell half the farm for bosh either trade next year or wait til 2010 to sign him.

Chris Bosh doesn't go toe to toe with anybody.

He is a fill em up Power Forward. Just like Beasley.

In other words...we already have Bosh...except that it will take a little time for him to get to that point.

I am thinkling more along the lines of getting a star Small Forward and defensive center in 2010.

Like a Joe Johnson and Tyson Chandler combo.

this lineup is young and would win at least 3 championships:

    Chalmers
    Wade
    Johnson
    Beasley
    Chandler

by that time, Beasley will be 20/10 and Chalmers will be a 15/7 PG.

i disagree. Beasley is more finesse and bosh is more of a power type player, hes alot more physical and he can attack the basket, something Beasely doesnt do. Bease is more of a 3, we have our star SF already. We need a guy who can eat rebounds and can score on putbacks and point blank jumpers.

    I couldn't disagree more...that is not Bosh's game.

Beasley is a Power Forward. Unless you get Riley's job and then fire SPO..you are not gonna see Beasley at the 3 in the near future.

Completely missed the game due to some housework, forgot to even record it to DVR. Can someone give me a rundown of where we are right now in terms of play? From what I've been reading we might be looking at a 1st round exit...

We looked pretty bad against Detroit...and still won...so go figure.

it was our defense and we couldn;t buy a shot for most of the game.

    most of it was correctable.

Beasley played a pretty bad game..so the margin of victory was hurt by it.

He plays his regular game...we win by double digits.

But...you guys have to remember...we are a VERY young team. we count on too many rookies and young players. We ARE SUPPOSED to be BAD on the road.

This goes with the territory. But we are a helluva basketball team at home. that is the tradeoff.

    Thanks.

My worry is, as the 5 Seed we'll have to go on the road throughout the playoffs. Talent is going to have to overcome youth at some point. A 1st round loss to the Hawks would be a pretty bad way to cap off the season.

Remember, hes in a 19/20 year old body. Give him a year to bulk up and add strength. I agree, that we need more banging from our PF.

Beasley will be that, just give his body a year to develop with NBA strength and conditioning coaches...

    lol! Good luck...

I'll just hope for a guy who doesnt get embarrassed by Dwight on a regular basis... and pretty good against all the other centers. In the coming years, there wont be a center in the league who will be "competitive" with Dwight...

haslem had our last six points . . .

before haslem's winning jumper, JO dropped the pass on the inbound. if chalmers didn't pick the ball up, we lose. before that, JO left hermann open for what was the go ahead three.

in the closing minutes before that, JO got blocked twice, emphatically, by the 6'7" jason maxiel.

JO had three rebounds for the whole game.

JO went 5/16 from the field. 2 of those "last 4 points" were probably offensive goaltending.

JO got beat off the dribble by kwame brown from the top of the key.

FG's....Field Goals. You know what I meant. haslem hit 4 free throws with .6 to play after the foul and the double tech on Curry after he ran onto the court.

    here it is:

O'Neal Jump Shot: Made (12 PTS)
    Assist: Moon (1 AST) 1:11
    [MIA 93-91]
    0:54
[DET 93-93] Prince Hook Shot: Made (14 PTS)
    Haslem Jump Shot: Missed 0:38
    O'Neal Rebound (Off:2 Def:1) 0:37
    O'Neal Tip Shot: Made (14 PTS) 0:36
    [MIA 95-93]

He made 2 out of the last 3 FG's. He gave us 2 leads inside the last minute almost! LOL.

He....WON the ****ing game for ****s sake.

he hit a god damn 18 foot shot with 1 second on the shot clock..and he crashed the board to put back haslems miss to give us the lead for the second time inside of ONE minute. and nooo that was not goaltending.

We LOSE if not for him.

and btw..your memory of what happened is a little cloudy. He did not leave hermann "open". He had to close out on a guy that wasn;t even supposed to be his. he guards the paint for ****s sake...not the 3 point line.

why not blame him for the Hindenburg blowing up?

and he was 6-16. not 5-16. why was it even necessary to say he was "5-16" (he was 6-16) He was 2-2 by my count to win the game.

he did not drop the pass from the inbound. look at it again.. bad pass.

and so what...Maxxiel is 6'-7"....he is also 260 pounds...Wade is 6'-4" and he had 4 blocks.

I don;t mind getting on him for whatever reason..but you are hating on him for the sake of hating on him.

expecially...since he won the ****ING game!
