That would work for limited minutes during a game... but not as your main lineup...

    They are the same player...

this page shows the heat payroll the next couple of years:

    http://hoopshype.com/salaries/miami.htm

if i'm reading this right, the current total salary for the heat roster is 69 million. in 2010, if we were to use the team option on jones and get rid of him, and wade were to opt out, the heat would have a total salary of only 8 million dollars tied up in cook, beasley and chalmers.

With wade, you have to figure the total salary is somewhere in the 20 millions, which leaves the heat with over 40 million or so to sign players.

    God I hate Comcast...
Worst POS service ever.. And a huge ripoff. I canceled all the premium channels and still pay nearly $100 for the service (have ATT DSL)... I can't switch to Dish or DirectTV because the conduit pipe running to my apartment can't be fished properly :(

Wade on pace for another double double. Love the chemistry between Dwade and Beas.

Time to get a new apartment. Should be lots of 'em available these days.

Comcast internet (or ideally Verizon Fios) with DirecTV would be heaven.

Does Beasley ever pass up the chance to shoot..
    Kid is a baller..

I compared him to Billy Owens a few months ago. Billy Owens is a scrub compared to Beas.

I've seen nice homes near the beach in FT Lauderdale for ridiculous prices.. I'm talking under 400k for a 3 bedroom house and small pool.. Too bad I'm stuck in the condo, which I love BTW. Very quite and a short walk to the beach..... But I'm stuck here for a while.

We don't communicate well on the boards.. I can't believe that this late in the season we are still bumping in to each on nearly every loose ball and still don't box out well...

No energy out there now. Mediocre teams live and die by the jumper and we are doing just that tonight... How about not settling for the outside shots once in a while??

Chalmers can be a liabilty at the end of games. That is the second time this year he has fouled a 3 point shooter with under a minute..

Bingo. But despite the Boston Referees best efforts, the Heat win. Great three by Wade to seal it. Moon is growing on me too. How does Riles land these trades?!

And wow, those Heat dancers are yummy. :hump:

Boston fans have proven the need for stem cell research.. Hopefully one day we can implant brains for them.

Big Cat was great...I think he earned Anthony's spot with that performance.

he filled up the boxscore and hit at least 3 Celtics in the face with elbows. That is what I call a complete boxscore for a backup power rotation guy.

Power rotation should be: Haslem, JO, Beasley, Big Cat. Then use Moon and Jones at SF , The guard rotation: Chalmers, Wade, Cook.

That is 9. you can sprinkle Luther Head into there as well...I think that playing Cook at the 3 has to end...for good. the guy plays best as Wade's backup or as the SG with Wade handling the point.

Until James Jones makes a full recovery (if he ever does), I'm fine with Cook logging minutes at the three unless we're going up against a Kevin Durant, LeBron James, or someone of that magnitude. Obviously, last night, Paul Pierce also fits into that mold. Whatever it takes to keep Diawara out of the rotation... how many times was he caught out of position (then forced a stupid foul) last night? Haslem, too. He's been a bit shaky on the defensive end as of late. I was amazed at how badly Powe dominated him each and every possession down the floor. Get it together, UD. You're better than that.

I was thinking about who is going to be available in 2010... and I got to thinking... what about Melo?

He could play the 3... which will be one of our 2 biggest needs in 2010.

He is a terrific scorer, and would help spread the floor even more for Wade. Now, his defense is whack... but would he improve in our defensive system?

Personally, I think Melo and Beasley are actually pretty similar players, so I dont know if that would deter us. And there are some character concerns that when combined with South Beach could be an issue.

But I just wanted to throw it out there b/c I've yet to see his name come up...

i think melo's contract is up in 2011. he opted for the longer contract when james and wade signed the shorter ones.

I guarantee you that Carmelo will never be known as a "winner" in this league. He just doesn't have it. Me, Me, Me. That's his game. I don't mind having a one dimensional player or two, but when you're a one dimensional scorer you are completely useless to me, especially with the defensive POTENTIAL / ABILITY he has. I hate Carmelo Anthony... I used to be a major fan. But the sad thing is that he's probably the perfect fit in between Wade and Beasley at the three. He'd also leave a gaping hole at the center spot for us. We're going to have two holes to fill in 2010, IMO. I love Moon but more so as a rotation player than full time starter, plus he'll be 30-years old then (albeit a late bloomer with probably more basketball left than your average 30-year old). I am leaning towards IGNORING Bosh and Amare... going after Tyson Chandler + Joe Johnson or Josh Howard.

G - Chalmers / Vet PG (Gary Payton, Sam Cassell v2) / Head or Quinn
    G - Wade / Cook / Head
    F - Johnson / Moon / Wright or Jones
    F - Beasley / Haslem
    C - Chandler / 2010 rookie / Vet C (Kurt Thomas v2)

That is my 200% DREAM LINE UP for the 2010-2011 NBA Champion Miami Heat. You've got three capable 20+ per night guys on that team with great defense from the PG and C spots. Top notch bench.

Oh and take it for what it's worth, but my guy in the organization said that he'd be completely shocked if Dwyane Wade AND LeBron James don't sign extensions THIS SUMMER.

I was told the same thing about Wade by my guy.

I was also told that the scuttlebutt in the league is that the 2010 "free agent bonanza" will be a dud..because everybody is going to DEAL for those players THIS summer.

The heavy rumor as heard by people in the Heat organization is that teams will seek to get something out of players they will surely lose..such as Amare and Bosh who BOTH have told their teams that they are gone.

so...yes boys and girls...we could be competing for a championship .....NEXT YEAR.
