I think I'm going to take a 1 month hiatus from that place.....

Or just start agreeing with everything you say...

One more thing about Beas.. While the rest of the teams stands around waiting for Wade to make a play, Beas is active on offense, always trying to get in position to make a play.. Hit or miss he has no fear... Too bad I can't say the same thing about the rest of the team. Wade knows what it feels like to be part of porkulus, he has been bailing people out all season long..

the game was awesome. voice is a little rough this morning. seeing the steal live was surreal.

also, as far as him missing the two free throws, when wade was at the line the arena posted a graphic telling the crowd to "shhhh" and we all stopped the "mvp" chant. i think it affected his shot. later, in the second overtime, they didn't post the graphic and he went 1/2.

No, I was actually trying to solve some issues with my DSL modem. I gave up and got a new one, just finished installing it. No more random equipment reboots for me.

Which means I can now download that damn game somewhere. :shifty:

If things go right I could see J.O. staying here in 2010 for about $5 million per season. He'll be 31. Imagine having J.O. coming off the bench behind say Chris Bosh, Amare, or Tyson Chandler. And yes, Jamario Moon is a priority. He already loves it here. IMO, there's no way he'll go unsigned this offseason. I think we'll sign him to a similar deal to James Jones, and we'll opt NOT to pick up J.J.'s option for the 2010-2011 season instead.

I don't mean to talk about 2010, but just to throw it out there.... I'm leaning towards a Joe Johnson or Josh Howard + Tyson Chandler offseason.

And back to the reality of something actually important... big game tomorrow night. I'll be there. Hopefully I won't be the only one there because we need to start filling those seats. It's crunch time, baby.

Celtics will be without Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo, Tony Allen, Big Baby, and Scalabrine. Still, take that team lightly and they'll blow you out of the water. Doc is a fine coach and that team prides itself on getting the dirty work done, although they'll obviously be without the heart and soul of their defense in K.G. Very losable game, so hopefully we come ready to play and take advantage of their injuries. Going +6 on the .500 mark at this point in the season would be spectacular. Magic number, IMO, for the fourth seed is 45 wins.

We've got to go ALL OUT tomorrow because we'll have three days rest before our next game, which will be a major test against the red hot Jazz followed by a FIVE GAME ROAD TRIP. So yes, let's get this one done tomorrow night. Big game. We can't slip up because Detroit is right behind us and they're on a bit of a roll. 4-1 in their last five including wins against Boston, Denver, and Orlando. Hopefully Allen Iverson returns sooner than later. :wink2:

I know, right? I see no signs of ego or poor characteristics with this kid.

And did anyone see Riley's recent comments about Beas? He said something along the lines of... if Beasley played 30 minutes per game, he'd average about 24 points. If he played 40 minutes per game, he'd lead the league in scoring. "He's one of the most talented players I've ever seen." Then he went onto say that he might give up 30 points or so in the process, but that's why he's learning the system and progressing extremely well defensively. That's about the best way to put it.

If Pat Riley tells me to be patient I'll be patient. :wink2:

On a side note, I really hate how little the Miami Heat fan base is...

Think about the Fins message boards vs. the Heat message boards. The Fin boards are SOOO much better. So much more discussion, and better quality too. And its b/c of the fan base the Fins have vs. the Heat...

    It sucks...

You have to also consider though how old and historic this franchise is compared to the heat. The Heat are still a fairly young orginization. But it does bother me as well that the support isn't really there.

Oh, I know. Thats exactly the reason. I mean, think about it... until we retire Zo's jersey, the 2 numbers we retired were Jordan's and Marino's, lol! :pity:

    So sad...

Its why I want LeBron. If we get LeBron, we get a dynasty... and win 6-8 titles... elevating our franchise up to the levels of the Knicks, Lakers, Bulls, etc...

There were 1 million people at the championship parade. this franchise has plenty of support.

people just can;t afford $80 seats every night...

and don't bring up the $10 and $5 seats..because i tried to buy up large blocks of them to give them away to clients and they ALL sold out the week they got announced.

BTw...that Assclown Bill Simmons is a Celtics fan, he ripped Beasley pretty good.

I hope Beasley pisses all over the Celtics tonight.

oh..and did you guys catch the Ric Bucher Wade hate fest last night? He places him 4th on the MVP ballot and HE HAS A VOTE. He also said that the only reason we care about his performance was that it was a slow news cycle and that he has had "plenty" of down games.

You kidding? Try being a Marlins fan. Strict Fins fans want you dead because the Fins have to play on baseball dirt for two months, and strict UM fans want you dead because of the Orange Bowl, to say nothing of Canes players now having to deal with the infield dirt.

And let's not forget the Florida Panthers, who've enjoyed a whopping ONE season where more than 10 people gave a damn. (1997, by the way.)

The Heat are doing just fine. No LeFraud, please.

The arena has something to do with it as well. The AA is a lifeless place...

Boy oh boy do I miss the old Miami Arena.. Man did that place get loud.

The OB and old Miami Arena walloped the new buildings when it came to energy.. Yes they were both dumps... But I'm not looking to sip on wine and eat Grey Puopon while watching the game. I'm looking to scream and heckle the opponent.

BTW, for Ric Bucher's information..I looked it up...

as for his "plenty of down games" comment.

I found ONE "down" game for Wade ALL year. Dec. 15th against Milwaukee...15 pts. 8 assists 6 rebounds, and we lost. that was it...unless he considers 24 points 6 rebounds and 7 assist games as "down" games.

    Ric Bucher is an *******.

Well, the Marlins and Panthers are just pathetic franchises...

The Marlins cant expect to have a fan base when they dont allow their fans to get attached to any of the players. They are a farm team.

And the Panthers? Florida shouldnt have a hockey team... let alone 2 of them.

The Heat fan base isnt a big fan base, and it sucks.

On a side note, why wouldnt you want LeBron? You dont think he would MASSIVELY improve our team? You dont think we would win multiple titles? Even if you dont buy into the hype, hes still the best SF in the league.... and also plays a position that is a huge need for us.

The key word in your statement is "Championship". They show support when its the "in" thing to do in Miami. And I do agree the economy surely effects things, but Miami is one of the wealthiest cities in the nation, compare the fan base to L.A.s or Bostons. Its not at that level.

The Marlins have more championships than the Heat and the same amount as the Dolphins. And seriously, you're going to bash the Marlins and Panthers while simultaneously complaining about local support for the Heat? Come on.

Because I don't feel like paying a second max contract (Wade would be the first) just to ensure referee help every night. That's half of LeFraud's game.

We need to spend 2010 money on Wade, then on post defense, not on SF offense/referee help.

The Marlins then take those players that they win with, and sell them off. I respect the Marlins, for how they have been able to be competitive in a stupid league that makes it almost impossible to compete financially w/ no salary cap... but they are a pathetic franchise... and in all honesty... a farm team. And the Panthers are irrelevant. (although, I tend to think hockey in general is irrelevant)

And I'm not talking about local support at all. I'm not talking about attendance at games. I'm talking about the entire fan base, local and national.

Think how many Fin fans are on this board that ARENT from south Florida for example?

Your Bron hate is ridiculous. Whos the best 'post defender' that we could get in 2010? Chandler? You honestly think we would win more games with a guy like Chandler over LeBron?

Part of the problem with the Heat is that we switched to the crappy South East division and lost the hated inter division rivalries... Nobody hates the Magic or Hawks in our division... Ask a Dolphin fan who they hate in the AFCE and they will say all three teams, almost as much as Des hates Bro.

Well, I think the NBA has eliminated the importance of divisions with how they do the playoff seeding. Wildcards go ahead of division winners, taking away from the importance of winning the division.

Not really. Happened once after winning the 1997 championship. The team then grew its own talent and won in 2003, kept the same core until around 2007 when attendance fell off and contracts were set to skyrocket, necessitating sending some people off.

Again, lamenting the Heat fan base while the Marlins and Panthers are still in town is a little absurd. The Marlins and Panthers wish they had the Heat's fan base. The Marlins wish they had 1 million people at a victory parade.

No, the fact that his high school games were nationally televised is ridiculous. That he's considered a superstar while, until very recently, his game consisted of wandering on the perimeter and settling for badly-aimed jump shots is ridiculous. It took him four years to figure out he could rush to the basket because he has an explosive first step, and that's going to fade as he gets older.

We need Zo II, not LeFraud. Besides, I'm sure he wouldn't want to relocate the barber shop and casino he built into his house.

Well, again... I honestly could care less about the MLB or NHL. So thats where my opinion comes from. I guess my favorite baseball and hockey teams are the Marlins or Panthers... but I have no clue what the Panthers record is, or have any clue who the players on the Marlins are. They won the 2nd one, and didnt they get rid of that pitcher to the Red Sox a year or 2 later?

The Marlins and Panthers fan bases are even smaller and of less significance than the Heat's. Does that make the Heat's fan base big and great? Not at all. I'm failing to see your point by comparing the Marlins and Panthers fan bases to the Heat's.

I agree that the hype around LeBron is crazy, and has been crazy. And was completely undeserved. But that doesnt take away from how good he is now at this point in time.

And if there was a Zo II in 2010, I might be with you. But there isnt. Who are you thinking would be a BETTER target for us in 2010? There isnt IMO. So why not improve the team as much as possible by bringing in one of the best players in the league?

Its not going to happen, so the conversation is a little irrelivent... but that doesnt make not wanting LeBron any more absurd.

I'm saying you have less standing to complain about the Heat's fanbase than you think. They're still the #2 team in South Florida, and they have the unfortunate circumstance of sharing a city with the greatest football franchise currently operating.

It absolutely takes away. Absolutely. Suppose you read this scouting report without knowing whose name was on it: "Small Forward. Large for his position, physical when he wants to be. Explosive first step. Vocal team leader. Does not fully utilize physical talent. Prone to settle for poor shot opportunities. One-dimensional game, albeit with potential to develop." If the name on that scouting report was not LeBron James, would you give a max contract to that player? I sure as hell wouldn't, even though signing him is technically signing four guys--one player, three refs--to one deal.

And that's all I'm going to say about LeFraud James.

I agree, let's bring in Chris Bosh.

Thats just it. I'm not comparing the Heat to other south Florida teams. All I'm doing is *****ing about how the Heat arent in a basketball town, where the city is always raving about them... and where we have fans across the nation.

I just wish we had a fan base like the Fins do... or like the Knicks/Lakers/Bulls/etc. Thats all.

I'm not ripping south Florida or Heat fans. We have ZERO history as a franchise, are a relatively young franchise, and play in a football dominated town. Theres not much else the Heat can do fan wise...

It just sucks. Thats all I'm saying, lol...

Well, if that description of LeBron is your feelings about him currently in 2009 (and not as a draft prospect)... then I completely disagree with you.

Bosh isnt a Center... and is the furthest thing away from "Zo II" that I could think of.

Bosh and Beasley are very similar players. I dont see how adding Bosh would improve us more than adding LeBron would.

That's a tall order. The Heat have to be on top of the NBA for a decade or longer to build that sort of a fanbase. No one cared about the Bulls until Jordan came along and won six titles. The Lakers were dominant throughout the 70s and 80s. The Panties have the benefit of being in a town with a bunch of losing franchises and a large amount of compulsive gamblers.

The Fins built a national fanbase by going undefeated and drafting possibly the greatest football player of all time. It's hard to replicate that kind of achievement and even harder to build a national fanbase. I mean, case in point, the Marlins won two championships in 6 years and you don't give a damn about them.

    We established that.

You asked for the best player, I listed him. As far as C goes, that's dicier. I'd like Tyson Chandler but won't make a whiny Youtube video if we don't get him. The trouble is that there aren't many true centers around in the first place, with guys who ought to be playing PF getting time at C.

So when I say "Zo II," I mean a game-changing defensive presence at C, not necessarily a Zo clone... though if they could figure out how to accelerate a Zo clone's aging so that he could be ready for the 09-10 season, I'd be all for that. JO should be coming off the bench at this point in his career, not starting.

Anyone but LeFraud. Let the Panties or the Nots overpay for him and praise him as the savior.

lebron is easily the best player in the 2010 class. not his biggest fan, but in no way is bosh anything close to zo, and he would either come off the bench or put beasley on the bench.

my dream would be lebron with the max available money and the remaing 10 million or so to tyson chandler or steve nash.

not going to happen, but with that, i have no problem with a bosh/chandler also.

In fairness... I dont give a damn about the entire sport. I hate baseball...

And obviously its a VERY tall order. I'm not angry that our fanbase isnt like that. We havent had a dynasty in Miami. We havent had any history to give us a fan base like that.

All I'm saying is that I wish it was like that, lol...

My point... is if you combine the best available players with our biggest needs... LeBron takes the cake. SF and C will be the 2 biggest needs in 2010...

Bron is the best SF available. Yao is the best C available.

I think we are better off with Bron than Yao...

Bosh makes zero sense for this team. And as far as 2010 prospects go... there is no "game-changing defensive presence at C" that is available. So, if we dont add a "game-changing defensive presence at C", should we just sit back in 2010 and do nothing?

    Whats the next best option?

    LeBron...

Or we would acknowledge that we don't really have a center anymore and just put Bosh and Beasley on the floor at the same time.

So do I, but as long as the Marlins are getting the shaft, I'm not going to complain about the Heat fanbase.

Yao is the LeFraud of centers. There's another guy with freakish physical talent who doesn't give effort commensurate with his paycheck and status.
