That is what I alluded to earlier when I said that Spo deserved credit against the Cavs for that 11 point lead.

We have some creative sets against zone defenses and that is just another one.

There are maybe 3 or 4 guys in the entire LEAGUE with the touch needed to convert consistently from 10 feet in. beasley is one of them.

As for this SG we got...LOL.....to think..Wade is doing this WITHOUT going to his post game.

Against Toronto...SPO had Wade playing the strongside box in our Zone defense, with JO playing the weakside box.

yes...boys and girls...SPO had Wade playing the same role that ZO used to play.

Wade is that much a deterrent. he actually CHANGES shots at 6-4'. That is unheard of. the guy is a shot blocking presence. INSANE.

if we end up with the 4 seed and 45 wins...Wade is the MVP and anybody else that gets it ..doesn't deserve it.

BTW...we are CONTENDERS now...AS IS. with some seasoning. (alot of young guys on the team)

I repeat..we are gonna scare the pants off whoever we face in the second round...

TONIGHT...we go to Cleveland, where the Cavs have lost ONE (1) game all year. it is gonna be 2.

Wade is still getting no national love in the MVP race, it's Kobe vs Lebron

    ridiculous

I'm not saying everyone has to agree he deserves it over LBJ, but it's close. Kobe shouldn't be in the conversation with the team he has around him.

Could you explain that in some more detail? I've been wanting to learn more about the x's & o's and strategy behind basketball. Which would be the strong side? Is it the right side of the offense? And whats the reasoning behind putting your shot blocker there?

If LeBron doesn't win a title before 2010 then he's not for real. Yeah. I said it. He's got everything riding on his side from his supporting cast (too underrated; LeBron has ALWAYS had a decent supporting cast even before the acquisition of Mo Williams. Defensively that is.) to that extra wonderful treatment. And that's not a knock... Wade had it. Jordan had it more than any athlete in the history of sports.

This has nothing to do with the Miami Heat but we're playing Cleveland tonight and I've been watching them a lot lately.

Also can we get Udonis Haslem on some ****ing layup drills? Jesus Christ.

I've never seen a player miss (and miss badly) so many point blank layups.

LeBron chokes it up by doing nothing down the stretch, but it's OK... the refs are there to save the day. I'm glad to see the fire in Wade to get ejected on the Double-T (And Spoelstra for his T)... honestly, he should have punched the official in the face. Take the suspension. Big deal.

When the game is pretty much over, I am all for a player and/or coach attacking an official... aggressive or non aggressive. This is the NBA, and they ALL suck. They ALL deserve to have their jobs made the hardest possible for them. MOST deserve to be punched in the face. Worst officiated league in sports, and that goes both ways. We have a superstar, too. So I know.

Great job by our team for sticking in there, nonetheless. Didn't expect to have a shot tonight. Cleveland is amazing at home; one of the best I've seen. Nice fight.

1-7 in last seven games against the Cavs. That could be a crucial # in postseason.

Ouch. Yeah, that's something to worry about. Matching up well against them is meaningless if we can't put them away, referee help or not.

Beasley didnt get in the game till there were 20 seconds left in the 1st. We've got to get him in earlier in the game. We get down way too much way too early and are forced to try to dig our way out of it the rest of the game. This is how its been EVERY single game lately, except when Wade is going for 19 in the 1st. W/o that, we go down by 15pts right off the bat.

19 points and our 2nd leading scorer only gets 25min??? Moon had 40min, Haslem 33min, JO 34min. Are there really not more minutes available for him? We cant keep losing games where we dont even give ourselves a chance to win...

remember that the "1-7" includes our 15 win year.

realistically...we are 1-3 against them..and 2 of the 3 were due to questionable means.

BTW..I thought it was hilarious that Spo ran onto the court and stopped a fast break after that horrible no-call on Varejo.

We were down 6 with a minute left..Wade goes in for the score..he gets mugged...no call....Cavs go on break..Spo runs onto the court and says.."no you don't".

I was surprised that the didn't toss SPO.

I think I figured it out.

SPO is saving Beasley's legs to play the entire season.

Looka t OJ Mayo...look at Brook Lopez..Hell..Look at our own Mario Chalmers...all of them have hit the rookie wall badly. beasley is still fresh.

Playing him 25 minutes or less a game is gonna ensure that we get a full season out of him. basically..SPO is doing that because WE NEED HIM. I think he regrets using Mario Chalmers as much as he has..that guy is done.

Okay...all basketball terminology is right handed.

so strong side is left side on defense....rightside on offense.

by playing Wade where we were playing him...it allows him to sag off his man and help at the rim. it also ensures that he will hardly ever get posted up, since your opponent will have to invert their offense to do it..since most teams best post players are forwards and centers.

what you end up having is a 3-2 look, but it is really a 2-1-2 look. it looks like this:

    Chalmers ...........Cook/Moon/Jones

    ..........Wade.................

    JO ...................Haslem

Now..imagine that when a player drives the weakside...what happens....Cook/etc. trail technique and funnel toward haslem..who will have a forward with him that he has to box out. It leaves JO protecting the backdoor..and ONE man to challenge the shot at the rim. Wade.

That is not only rare...but you hardly ever see that defense played with anybody other than a shot blocking specialist. (Kirilenko, chandler, etc..)

What SPO knows is that Wade does not body foul and knows how to elevate clean and challenge shots...so what he is giving up in height...he is gaining with intelligent play.

The drawback ..is that against very speedy teams..Wade will be in a tough spot and against teams with good 3 point shooting big men (Orlando, Dallas, etc...) it leaves wide open shots.

but against teams that attack the paint with guards and forwards...Wade wrecks havoc.

How does it taste? lol :wink2:

Honestly, thats unacceptable to me. WE NEED HIM right now. We are losing games b/c we arent playing him enough. What good is "saving him" if we are losing games? We dont have the luxury of saving him.

And stepping up his minutes to 30+ at this point will still have him w/ energy at the end of the season... b/c of the easy load he has had to this point. I had no problem with doing this before the All Star break... but enough is enough.

We've only got 20 games left. Get it done...

Our starting line up doesn't produce enough on offense, IMO. I know this system is so dependent on defense, but seriously... we've got to make a line up change and try something before the playoffs.

This is why I'm extremely critical of Erik Spoelstra's lack of common sense when he pieces together the rotation:

    G - Quinn
    G - Chalmers
    F - Jones
    F - Beasley
    C - Anthony

How the hell do you expect to win with that line up on the floor at ANY large period of time?

That is a horrendous line up on both sides of the floor. Preseason status. You can't have Wade, Cook, O'Neal, Moon, and Haslem all on the bench at the same time.

We were down 2 when that mass sub (another thing I'm not a fan of) switched off. We're down 13 now.

He played those guys 2 minutes 30 seconds tops.

When you play 9/10 deep...you get a lineup like that.

for the playoffs, we should go 8 deep at the most..so we will get a better lineup.

Chris Quinn and Joel Anthony should never be on the court at the same time, especially with Wade on the bench. That's an automatic run for the other team.

But it's OK... Wade to the rescue. This man is (basketball) God.

Chris Quinn is so terrible it's not even funny anymore. Like it used to be funny. Now it's just embarrassing that he's representing our franchise out there.

He's like 1/7 shooting and he comes down the floor popping up a transition three.

So officials can review whether or not a player stepped on the line for a three point shot, but they can't review whether or not the shot clock expired? Doesn't make any sense. Ben Gordon wasn't even close to getting that three off... if we lose this game by anything less than 4 points I'm going to be furious.

    48 pts, 12 ast, 6 reb, 4 steals, 3 blocks

And the MVP play at the end.

Remember the days when Wade didn't have an outside game? He's made almost as many this season as the previous four combined.

I'm worried fellas about 2010. This ENTIRE FREAKING CITY needs to make sure that they pack the AA every SINGLE GAME until Wade's contract expires. After witnessing his miraculous play once again, it made me realize that we have a once in lifetime opportunity to support a true superstar that can one day be talked about in the same breath as Jordan.

Did Chicago have empty seats in the stadium when Jordan was on top of the world? It upsets me to see empty seats at the AA, I don't care if we are playing the Bobcats we all need to step it up and support this team to ensure that Wade isn't tempted to go elsewhere. As of tonight I have made a promise to myself to make every effort to support the team and attend as many games as possible.

No problem... I'm just a bit paranoid today...

Wade is joining Marino in my personal Hall of Fame.

Zo came close.... Timmy came close..... But other than Marino, no player I have ever followed and cheered for is as dominating and incredible as Wade is... I love this kid and I am SO proud to have the opportunity to witness greatness. So proud.
