    Saw it...

very good. Not close to The Dark Knight......but it is in the top 5 as far as Comic book movies are concerned.

Rorshach's performance is great and so is Dr. manhattan's...

Silk Spectre is one hot *****..although she is not the greatest actress.

The change in the ending is not fatal.

It is a pretty good flick.

    One problem:

the makeup job on "President Nixon" is distracting and embarrassing.

I liked it, it'll be one of the top releases of the year, IMO.

Personally I feel it would live up to The Dark Knight's standards if there were an actual tragedy involved like there was with Heath Ledger.

I've never read the novel but I enjoyed the movie. There was a bit too much going on for me to fully wrap my head around what its trying to say. But good nonetheless.

That's a consequence of trying to fit a 400 page story with multi-layered verbal and visual meanings into a 150 minute movie. Doesn't help that there really isn't another movie out there with a setting or premise quite like this one. Caveat: have not seen the movie yet.

They never filmed the original ending.

I thought the movie sucked balls. I completely understood the story, and eveerything but it just dragged on and on. I seriously contemplated walking out on it. The only highlights for me were the Rorshack character and some of the action scenes. It had good special effects.

And why couldn't Dr. Manhattan ever cover himself up? I grew tired very early of watching his blue schong flop around.

I liked it. I actually thought the new ending worked better for the movie. I think the original might have come off a bit cheesy on film, and the change didnt really alter the plot or the point of it at all; so nice job on that I thought.

They were very loyal to the graphic novel which I liked, and Rorschach was awesome. He comes across as even cooler on screen, which was probably to be expected.

I can understand people who werent fans of the graphic novel going in thinking it was overly long, but I'm not sure how else you could make this movie w/ out butchering the source material.

Looking forward to the extended cut lol

I'm neither a fan of the graphic novel, nor a fan of Zac Snyder... So while I will watch it, I will keep my comments to myself I think. Last time I criticized the "visionary director" of Watchmen, I got into quite the fight.

    The watchmen

The time here in the UK is now 23.43 pm and I have been home just about an hour after watching this AMAZING movie. .

It had everything and was visually stunning, the characters were great and the whole film had an atmosphere of dark, Rorschach is by far the most aggresive and tortured soul in this piece but kicks *** because of it. . he has 2 really great lines. .

'you dont get it, im not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me'

'tell me Dr, what DO YOU see?

Dr manhatten as the god like disenfranchised character of the piece is totally awesome. . is there nothing he cant do .. well yes but you will find that out. .

some serious viloence and graphic scenes along with great action sequences make this just one of if not the best superhero movie i have ever seen and not having ever read the novels I came at this cold as it were. .

Rorschach has been my favorite comic book character since that series came out. Marv in Sin City is a close second.

    I can't wait!

But I have to; I get pretty anxious in a packed theater, and I want to see it in IMAX.

    Couple weeks should do it.

Is it just me, or did a lot of music feel out of place? I hated most of the scenes involving music (a few exceptions)... One thing I loved about the trailers was the music. It felt appropriate, but then in the actual movie we're getting sound of silence?? HATED that aspect of the film... It really distracted me from emotional scenes.

I really enjoyed it. I loved the Rosharch character. I liked the deeper questions it asked as well as the action scenes. I also thought the music fit. It was period music whose lyrics matched the moment.

I haven't read the graphic novel and I purposefully avoided finding out much about the movie before hand. So, I really didn't have many expectations going in. If anything, I had more negative expectations than positive ones just based on the cheesy costumes and the probable need to tell the back story of so many characters. But I definitely liked it.

    a few questions I had were :

What was the point of Rorschach's mask changing all the time?
Why did Dr Manhattan put that circle thing on his forehead?

I haven't read the Graphic Novel in a long while, so I might be mistaken...

    1. Rorschach worked in a woman's store. Someone ordered a dress (think celebrity or someone rich) and Rorshach (I think...) made it. The woman hated it and discarded it. Like him, no one wanted it. She he turned the dress into a few masks.. It's something like that... However, the symbolism is the white and black are always moving with each other, but never mix into the color gray. This is a reflection on Rorshach's views on right and wrong, there is no gray area, just black and white... Think about the end of the movie and his decision vs. everyone else.

    2. Dr. Manhattan was given a uniform by the U.S. government. The uniform came with a helmet, it had a symbol on it, and he didn't care for it. So instead, he carved a symbol "he could respect." I forget what that thing stands for though... Maybe someone else knows.

Because he showed his dong in the Graphic Novel. it was important to the nerds... Snyder wanted it to be faithful to the GN. What's really stupid is that Laurie is naked a ton in the last 4th of the GN, yet we didn't get to see Malin's goods except once. How hillbilly backwards is that?

Every time Dr. M was nude on screen, the hole theater would crack up.
