Yeh Supposedly we are going after Jamaal Tinsley, Earl Watson, or Michael Williams.

Thank God we didn't pull the trigger on a Tinsley deal with that contract of his. I think our interest in Tinsley is simple........if his contract is bought out, we'll offer him a one or two year deal. Otherwise, no way.

Earl Watson is a guy I'm sure Riley is trying to trade for, though. He's "the target" that keeps getting mentioned without a name. I don't know about Marcus Williams on the other hand, but he still has a ton of potential. He just hasn't found a comfortable spot on the right team. I'd offer Dorell Wright and nothing more. Nellie is in love with athletic forwards who haven't lived up to their potential or even come close to doing so. That's Dorell Wright, unfortunately.

Kyle Lowry is the guy that I've wanted since about 2007 or so, and he's been available for trade since then. We almost pulled the trigger on a deal involving Udonis Haslem last summer. Only thing Memphis would take back in return would probably be Daequan Cook, and that's a no brainer, IMO...........a no brainer to turn down.

Haslem and JO are working pretty well together. Nice to see.

You know, Haslem is one of the most underrated players I can think of, even by Heat fans. The guy does whatever he's asked to and does it well.

It was a horrible performance tonight on defense.

Quinn is a liability on the floor, he can not shed screens and is not dynamic on offense at all. We really need a legitimate backup PG to have any chance in the playoffs.

Chalmers had a very poor stretch at the end. We were down 1 with momentum on our side, 1 1/2 minutes on the clock and he rushes in to double coverage and commits a turnover.. Chalmers, your time may come but Wade has to have the ball at that time of the game. On the next possession he fouls out by committing a foul with the 24 second clock ticking towards zero.. Just a lot of rookie mistakes and poor rebounding out there tonight.

    Very disappointing loss.

The deadline is 5 pm I think.

but yeah..this loss was on philosophy and Quinn.

We LET THEM shoot open 3's and they hit 67% of them.

JO looked great till Miller hit him in the face with an elbow. he is gonna be a stud for us.

Coach Spoelstra said they didn't install any of JO's plays for this game.

he is gonna be a force int he middle for us.

James Jones has to start hitting those 3's. He is hurting us.

I have a question... now that Marion is gone... what does Beasley have to do to get on the floor?

Does he have to blow Spolstra? Riley? Both at the same time?

Only 18 ****ing minutes? I'm losing patience....

Beasley is too inconsistent right now Nasty. He settles for far too many long jump shots and makes a very limited impact on D.

He makes a large % of those long jump shots though, so I dont see the problem.

And he isnt good on D, but its not effort, its lack of awareness. But how is he supposed to get better w/o any playing time? Hes going to outscore whoever he is matched up w/ so I'm over it.

He doesnt have to start... but get him in the damn game...

Beasley didn't play much because Haslem looked like the second coming of James Worthy.

and JO also looked very comfortable with Haslem out there.

I think we need to find minutes for Beasley with JO.

If JO could do that for Haslem..imagine what he could do with Beasley.

But on Beasley's part..he has to REBOUND when he is in there. He got beat to too many rebounds.

As for the team..how come we are still playing down to the competition?

We are now 20-6 against sub .500 teams..and in those 20 wins, we slept walk through most of them..and those 6 losses all have blown leads..including last nights game.

Philly up next...we gotta kick their ***. We got this 5th seed basically locked up..but we gotta make a move on Atlanta.

hmmm...quickly approaching..still waiting for a blockbuster. J.O. was big but not really "Blockbuster" material. I wonder what it would take to get B. Davis in a Heat Uni?

They would have to take our trash.

Anyway..we don't need him. Not enough basketballs. Chalmers is fine.

we need a backup PG badly.

Pat Riley is on 790 right now...

    GREAT STUFF.

Kinda let the cat out of the bag....

"We will be in a good position to negotiate with Amare in 2010. That was the plan. We would not trade now unless the deal was in our favor."

"I am waiting on 2010, but NEXT SUMMER you could see a large amount of moves where teams will acomodate players one year early to get something in return for players that they know they will lose."

In other words...we might get the guy we are gonna target in 2010...going into NEXT SEASON...how do you like them apples? AND WE MIGHT GET HIM FOR PEANUTS...

    Chalmers/Wade/Whoever/Bosh/JO = Championship.

Yeah I was thinking about that earlier. I probably would pass on Amare even if there was a favorable deal out there, simply because I am about 85% sure that Chris Bosh will look into playing with Wade or LeBron in 2010. Bosh is my favorite big man in the league and probably THE best aside from untouchables like Dwight, K.G., and Timmy. Wait for Bosh.

On a side note James Jones is now out for the season as he re-injured his hand. What a free agent bust he's been. I had high hopes for him having a breakout year playing with Wade. Not his fault, though. That's the injury bug for ya.......

Also heard from my guy that we almost snagged Mike Miller for a player "deep down in our rotation" + draft pick today but the third team in the deal pulled their chips out. :(

It'd take us away from the 2010 plan. The only players Riley would sacrifice that plan for would be LeBron James (impossible) or a superstar big man.

The way Pat talks about 2010 it's almost as if he's got an unspoken handshake with one of the premier free agents.

I would have traded Haslem for Mike Miller, though. Most people probably wouldn't, but I definitely would. It was on the table.

I am beyond the term "uncomfortable" with Jamario Moon and Yakuba Diawara splitting time at the three spot. I know Daequan will get some minutes there, but Spo has already stated Michael Beasley will continue to log 0 minutes at SF.

Dorell Wright will probably get ONE LAST CHANCE with this team with James Jones' injury, and he NEEDS to step up and be what we all know he can be.

Someone had an idea on a Bills board, and wanted to see what you guys thought.

What if we ran Beasley at the 3 on offense, and at the 4 on defense... and use Haslem visa versa?

We probably dont want to run Beasley at the 3, b/c he would get destroyed by SFs on defense. But what if we let Beasley guard the 4 on defense? Haslem is capable of guarding a 3.

Its not ideal, but it would get our 2nd most productive player on the floor, which we NEED to do. We cant loose to teams like the ****ing Timberwolves...

And with the news that James Jones is out for the year... it gets Beasley on the floor over scrubs like Moon or Diawara...

I actually prefer Beasley's chances vs. athletic threes rather than physical fours. Spo just feels like it's "easier" for Beas to learn one position at a time, and that position being the four which is where they see him long term. Makes zero sense to me, though. Beasley is a versatile player who CAN play both positions; why not get the most out of him? Who cares how "confused" it makes him.....he's 20 years old!!!!!!!!!! He's supposed to be confused at least HALF the time.

And yes we can't ****ING (I capitalized my "****ing") lose to teams like the T'Wolves at home when Dwyane Wade goes off for 37 points and 12 assists. That's disgusting. Sebastian Telfair goes off for 30 points, are you kidding me? Well, actually, that's the result you have to EXPECT when 'Rio is in foul trouble and CHRIS QUINN is on the floor. Unfortunately we were unable to acquire a D- or better defensive PG, because Quinn is an F. He's become my least favorite player on the team by far. I'm more comfortable with Blount at center than Quinn at PG.

Another thing since we haven't really discussed last night: Why the hell did Michael Beasley log 17 minutes? Come on. This has to stop. He should be seeing 25-28 on the minimum. Now that we've got a defensive minded big man in there, I think it's time for Michael to start at the four. I'll take Haslem's toughness off the bench over Beasley's scoring since Jermaine is starting. I mean, Cook is our 6th man. J.O. is the perfect center for Beasley to flourish next to, because he's not going to have a heavy responsibility defensively on most nights, and he'll have one of the best shot blockers in the league watching his back.

I agree with that. Beasley should play 3 on offense and 4 on defense for now. Beasley playing 4 on offense makes no sense when he has no low post moves/presence.

Beasley rarely uses a post game. I honestly cant remember a time Beasley has got the ball on the blocks, and used a post move.

He usually gets the ball on the perimeter, and either shoots or slashes...

The problem I think he has is the same he is having with his rebounding. He needs to bulk up, b/c he has trouble getting good position down low.

he barely even slashes. its a shame too, because when he goes to the basket good things happen. i'm not sure he'll be much of a rebounder in the nba. he's closer to his combine 6'7" than his media guide 6'9" and he doesn't really "go up and get" his rebounds.

Ya, but his ridiculous wingspan makes up for those 2 inches. I agree that he needs to be more aggressive and have that mentality that it is HIS ball, and no one elses.

But I think adding strength in the offseason will help that a lot...

When is Chris Perkins going to be fired already? He's the worst source for anything "insider" related in all of South Florida sports. This idiot reported yesterday on the radio that James Jones is out for the season, and now he's listed as "day to day" and may play tomorrow night. How many times does this clown jump the gun on things?

My two hands wouldn't be able to count how many times he's called a trade or acquisition a "done deal" only to hear nothing more from it. "My sources tell me that Mo Williams has agreed to terms with Miami and Milwaukee has 7 days to match."

Diawara is so garbage it's funny. Please get him off the court.

Dorell Wright is finally active, and Jamario's got a few more days of practice under his belt.

The goal is for those two to shine so the scrub can STAY off the court.

J.O. looked amazing tonight, and he made a fool out of Dalembert quite a bit. It was funny stuff. Every time he pumped and blew by him he looked back at him and gave him a stale face. And yes, Moon is a lot of fun to watch when he's running up and down the court with D-Wade. What I like about him, though, is how active he is defensively. Super athletic with long arms. He really does remind me of a lesser version of Shawn Marion.

I'm looking at the schedule for the rest of the season now to pick out the games I want to attend, and wow, it's pretty tough from here on out. Good thing J.O. seems to be making a quick impact. We'll need him.
