like everyone else said take the job. It doesnt hurt to learn this trade. People are always looking for an electrician/plumbers/mechanics.
there aren't a whole lot of illegal General Contractors, Project managers, or Foremans running around.......... i'm just sayin
Mostly the grunt work, stuff us lazy Americans would rather not do, instead we'll collect welfare or unemployment checks.
Well if you do happen to fall into an electrical job I can tell you this. You will get zapped, whether it is of your own fault or someone else's. But thats ok, after the first time you get hit, you';; be sure to check for voltage every time after, unless it didn't phase you all that much. Mostly the guys who get seriously hurt do it from being careless and working on hot joints.
If you are looking at an opportunity to get in on the ground floor to an eventual apprenticeship then you should take the chance and run with it. I've been a carpenter for 15 years and am looking at a career change right now. In fact, I'm knocking on doors trying to get an electrical apprenticeship. I'll go from making in the high 20's an hour to the mid teens but in the long term I'll be happier.
MY dad wants to know if they plan on hiring full time or what so he can look else where. Of course that ties in if I can work or not but We'll see what happens.
