Thunder have to be considered a sleeper for next season. Westbrook, Durant, Green, and Chandler is a pretty good lineup. If they can add a solid SG they could be set. Also the fact they have 5 first round picks in the next 2 drafts. They could be very good next year

I think an issue with them is going to be getting a head coach that is capable of leading the team and some veteran leadership; a lot of young'ns on that team.

A couple of Knick rumors I just heard on WFAN during the Evan Roberts/Joe Beningo show (around 1230ish)....

    Lee and Curry for Shaq
Lee and Curry for Outlaw, Sergio Rodriguez, and Lafrentz

Anything that gets rid of mcflurry is a go for me.

Dude, shaq's contract is done by 2010, plus hes a drawing card for guys like Lebron.

For Phoenix the benefit is obvious:
It moves Amare back to C but Lee is much more suited for that offense then Shaq will ever be.

    Nash
    J Rich
    Hill
    Lee
    Amare

I mean its not like Phoenix defends anyway, why start now? Plus with Phoenix's style of play now, Shaq's effectiveness is severely diminished as will his playing time. For the Knicks this is less of an issue because we have NO interior defense, will finish last in the league in blocks for the 3rd straight year, and it doesnt matter since Shaq isnt part of the long term plan anyway, though it will be nice to have Bird rights when 2010 comes. Use him as a back up to Bosh or Yao or Amare

Why would the Knicks EVER do that trade without the cap relief? Its completely useless for them without that.

A trade like that would have nothing to do with player fits and everything to do with 2010 which is clearly the knicks plan anyway. :wink2:

How so? Lee is 2nd behind dwight howard in double doubles, hes a hustle player extraodinaire, hes one of the smartest players in the league. And in return you would expect them to take simply a back up PG who cant shoot and a backup SF?

And the benefit to Portland is quite obvious: Oden cant stay healthy so they get at least another good big even if they dont get the blocks and intimidation Oden brings. Oden has another bone chip, hes day to day. At the very least you bring to the table an excellent 3 man rotation at the 4/5 spots with lee/oden/Aldridge and you gain productivity as evidenced by Lee's PER of 18.5.

Oh Im not saying its smart. Im just saying that New Orleans was rumored to be losing about 10m this year. Thats about what chandler made this year. So they cut payroll from 77m to 67m so they dont hemorrhage money again next year. Basically the Nets are looking to do the same thing with Carter and the Bucks with Jefferson. :shifty:

outlaw is a starter on most teams..lafrentz contract is getting better offers then amare got. lee would not even start here, so we would trade 2 valuable trade pieces for a backup. im not saying aldridge>lee but there is no way aldridge is gonna come off the bench. plus our big man rotation is one of the best anyway

Quite simply you overvalue Outlaw. He has no consistency to his game. Hes the anti-Lee.

Aldridge IS better then Lee but that doesnt diminish Lee's value at all. Lee being so much more consistent then Outlaw, is what makes that tarde horrible for the Knicks. The Knicks insisting someone take back Curry is smart because the phone has been ringing for months about Lee. If Portland doesnt want him, Lee will end up a Spur, Rocket, Mav or somewhere out west that will hurt the Blazers.

Lee is the type of frontcourt player every championship team needs. He can play the 3 vs bigger 3's, the 4 vs smaller 4's and create a matchup nightmare for 5's on offense. He doesnt turn the ball over. His player efficiency rating is excellent; his percentages are top of the line, and while he is about average on D its not from lack of effort. Lee is allowing a 60% FG % against but hes playing out of position as a full time center. He hasnt complained once about it. Instead hes been equally as difficult to defend and has posted about a dozen 15pt/15reb lines vs some of the best C's in the league.

And as long as youre on the topic of Amare, check out lee and Amare's PER. Amare is about 1 point ahead. Thats how good David Lee has been this year.

I saw that but I dont laugh at those types of deals. Thats how Detroit ended up with Darko. They dealt some average big (Otis Thorpe) in like 1998 for a 2003 1st (which ended up being Darko or could have been Bosh or Melo). Trades like that are how great teams are built.

Granted its much harder to pull a haul like that with a 2nd rounder in return but that 2nd rounder is a cheap asset you can use in a deal much more effectively then having to worry about a trade involving salary matching of players. :wink2:

he is inconsitent. but he is clutch and he can be unstoppable on offense any given night. i dont like outlaw but he has pretty good value on the market. lee already said he doesn't want to come off the bench. he is gonna want a big deal. he just wont work out with the blazers. lafrentz is going to bring someone who will start and be here for a few a years.

    This could be interesting:

Sources have confirmed that the Kings and Bulls have talked about a trade that would send Drew Gooden and Andres Nocioni to the Kings for John Salmons and Brad Miller.
If anyone is going to be moved in the next 23 hours it's Miller. He would probably start at center for the Bulls, pushing Joakim Noah to the bench, while Gooden and Nocioni would just give the Kings more forwards they don't need. Spencer Hawes would start at center for the Kings, while John Salmons would likely be the sixth man for the Bulls - if this trade were to happen.
    Source: Chicago Tribune
Related: Brad Miller, Drew Gooden, John Salmons, Andres Nocioni

John Salmons > Ben Gordon though. Salmons should start under that. My fantasy team would be praying hinrich got shipped out under that scenario. Ive heard whispers of Hinrich to the Wolves which frankly I would love

What can he say, he doesn't have a no trade clause, I dont think. Plus he's not in position to throw around demands anymore. If he threatens retirement, he will get the same reception Favre got. Plus he hinted at the All Star game that this is his final yr. I dont think he comes back.

Oh please...your Laker hatred for Shaq has blinded reality to you. You know dam well Curry even at Shaqs age now, isnt anywhere close to the caliber Shaq has or is.
