I guess I was too general in my statement, but I've never lived with a cat for more than a few days (I cat-sat several times for a family friend).
Sorry to hear that man. That's obviously the hardest part about owning a pet. Definitely still worth it though since I'm sure you have a million great memories.
Just saw this PMZQ. Sorry bro. Some people don't get how losing a pet can be so devastating but as you can see many on here do. I do as well. I think that in today's world, finding totally unconditional love is almost impossible to find. Certain pets however give you that and when it's lost it's heartbreaking. Mourn Jasper for a while and then go out and find yourself another lil buddy. You gave him a great home and life. Plenty of other dogs out there that need a future home.
My shepherd, Zephyr, died of a stroke in my arms at age 14. I know your pain. If you need to talk, PM me and I'll send you my phone number. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Thanks Reefer, that is what I miss the most, that unconditional love. I've never been very fortunate in the "love" department. I've had only one long time relationship. Having Junior and then Jasper helped in that reguard, it was the best alternative to a person I could find.
Mal, its been a very tough week. I broke down yesterday morning when it had been one week. It hit me then, that it had been a week and I was still thinking every morning, "oh I gotta go get Jasper and take him out".....and then catch myself. Bro its hard. Mal, thanks for the offer, I may send you my number and we'll shoot the crap sometime tomorrow. Lord knows I may need it. Do you have any pics of Zephyr ? I am so sorry that it had to end that way for you bro. Have you been able to get another dog or has the memory of Zephyr too strong to allow another dog into your heart ?
