Horse crap, wrapped in chicken crap, dipped in bull crap. Macs are the creative industry standard. For a reason too, it runs all Adobe apps better and faster than any comparable PC. PCs are for secretaries and hackers. If a designer or production person prefers PCs they probably also prefer Corel to Adobe. Check out which computer ran Vista the best on cNet...I'll give you hint...IT WAS A MAC, BABY!!!!!!!
I disagree! They are also for gamers. Most hackers use Linux(Unix). You do know Macs use what is basically Unix(Linux) with an Apple icon pasted on it? Anyways, I am dropping out of this who has the biggest ***** war. Steve Jobs can have his artsy fartsy polished turds.
There were private rooms where people traded files and groups were formed for the sole purpose of sharing those files. However, there were groups out there that abused it. If you were ever in a chat and received the same IM over and over until you were booted offline then you know what I am talking about. People in those groups used apps that were capable of kicking people off and scrolling in chat rooms. They had their purpose but some people abused them.
To each their own. I prefer using a PC when it comes to anything related to design, video, and that jazz... Mac users can try to outpower my PC with Sony Vegas with their Mac's iMovie though.......
Because you're sick. You shoulda known that when you started the thread. I'm just amazed your "I gotta Wii thread" hasn't turned into a Nintendo Fan Boy Wii-nie vs. "Sony Defense Force" vs. M$ fan boy free-for-all by now. Describing this post in the first sentence I see. You can do everything just as well and as fast on a PC as you can on a Mac. They're the "creative industry standard" solely because of the head start Mac has held in the field dating back to the 1980's when studios used Macs for lack of better options. In the early years, Adobe, which is the industry standard, made software thar ran exclusively on Macs. Right now, the line between Mac and PC performance is blurred especially when you consider PC's have significantly better hardware. And to say that PC's are for secretaries and hackers makes a wholly incorrect stereotype. I thought Windows did a good job against the Apple ads with their own counter that shatters the stereotype Apple's trying to put on PC users.
ive had my HP for 7 years now and im on porn every. single. day. every one. Macs dont have to worry about that at all?
hey, i've had my aol account for over a decade. its attached to me now, like a disease...riddled throughout friends, family, and even some business associates. i have to have it, i cant get rid of it....so back off !
I think the point is that you can use all their stuff for free. You have aol mail for free and AIM for your messaging needs. Not dissing ya, just letting you know.
yeah its 100% free. and like links sent to my aol email only seem to work on PCs. its crap i know...but i need it.
it will. as much as mac prides itself on being virus free, one of the primary reasons is the number of users, not to mention pc is just found more in businesses and such, thus it is attacked more then mac.
lol, I feel ya. I still use my free AOL email account 50-50 (mostly for message boards and such these days) with my current ucla account. Kept it for more than a decade because I was originally too lazy to move over to a new email address.
Not true, brother. Apples to apples, Mac on PC 'Doze runs faster than native PC. P.S. -- I just love stirring the PC/ versus Mac ****.
Except the best gaming graphics card for Macs is a 8800gt while on PC"s that's about 2 generations old. Crysis on a $8000 Mac Pro on Windows Vista with 2x2.8 Quad-Core Intel Xeon, with 8800GT 512MB card = 16 avg fps on 1920x1200, 0xAA, Trilinear, High Quality Crysis on a $2300 PC on Windows Vista with a Core 2 Quad Q9550, ATI Radeon HD 4850 CF 512MB = 29 avg fps on 1920x1200, 0xAA, Trilinear, High Quality P.S. -
Just thought I would throw this in the mix. A German company is selling PC's with OSX installed. http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/09/02/16/german_clone_maker_not_afraid_of_apple.html
grats on your new Mac. I just recently bought my 3rd Mac laptop (bought two others many years ago. always ended up selling used and upgrading to a brand new one): MacBook Pro 15" 2.5Gz 2GB RAM 250GB HDD SD 512VRAM & ending up upgrading to 4GB Ram & 500GB HDD. If you ever decide the need to use PC apps then conisider BootCamp & use VMWare to boot into the BootCamp partition while you are still in OSX. I use Bootcamp for one purpose and that is to play PC games natively (of course I have to boot into BC first). Mac's are actually very affordable if you know where to look and are patient. Here is the exact model & the current cost of the model i got: http://store.apple.com/us/product/FB166LL/A?mco=MjE0NjE5MA Its refurb model where as I bought mine brand new for $1400 a month ago. I was lucky after two weeks of searching craigslist.org for a MBP. I was able to find a Standford CS student selling a brand new still in the wrappers MBP. The box was open one time to let a potential buyer look at it but he never took the laptop out of the wrapper. Lucky for me he changed his mind and I ended up saving around $600 +/- at the time for a brand new exact model laptop. I know ppl like to buy brand new but if you are patient, willing to research & to buy new, used or refurb Mac's you can save a bundle on. Just like any other product out there.
Nope, never did that stuff. I'm in a closed Yahoo share group now....its where I have seen every Oscar nominated film without having to leave my house
