Just STOP before this turns into another "Lets get rid of Lucky thread" On a serious note, I find this rather intriguing
there are billions of civilizations in the universe and we will never meet each other because we live to far apart
oh my god you guys are so clueless!!! all of you!!! i was only teasing marty cuz that was before my time. you guys... ....ruin everything.
everyone always assumes the other species has to be soo far advanced and all... but how bout a species thats just a lil bit more advanced than us. how bout one of thier satellites landing here. i mean, it doesnt have to be the whole spaceship with thier people and all scenario...just a probe or something would be the most realistic scenario no? and then eventually we can all communicate on ichat
like in contact, when the dude took the form of jodie fosters dad...to talk to her. thats far advanced. im talking just a little more advanced, and sending out a better rover that reaches us.
Did anyone else notice the George Washington quote just below in Phinz's siggy? Perfect placement and timing.
Sadly, this is probably the truth. Assuming 1 our out of every 10 billion stars have planets that can support life, we are literally talking about millions of life supporting planets... But as you stated, it would take millions of light years to reach these planets and I'm not sure if the technology will ever be developed to travel that far.
