1st pick in rd 3 for him, that would be it. Anything else is just too much.

I wouldn't mind having him if the price is reasonable. The good thing is, his personality and competitiveness would be contagious. The bad thing is, when things aren't going well, he'd be hard to deal with.

    got a 2nd for Chambers. I'll part with a 3rd for Johnson.
I hate giving up draft picks, but he's proven talent.

why not give up the 2nd we got for Chambers? Almost like a trade in a way. No one can honestly say that Ocho Cinco isnt a HUGE improvement over Chambers, cept of course Aqua and Grid, his groupies, lol.

Actually, not sure he is a HUGE improvement. Perhaps better hands, much worse attitude, a bit bigger.

Guess it would essentially be a trade cept we move up 4 or 5 spots (1 if the Chargers win it all)..

Wonder what his cap numbers would do to us?...also, I think there is SOOOO much talent coming out in the draft this year, it would be tough to part with the 3-1...but I would definately consider it.

As I stated, it very well could be that our second 2 is only one pick before our 3rd

Good question - Is Beck ready to be berated when he over throughs the ball to Ocho?

No, but Beck would finally have a legit target. Ted Ginn and Chad Johnson. Need a tight end. A healthy pro bowl running back in Ronnie Brown.

Beck's development would take a major leap with all that overall talent.

Unlike this year: Ted Ginn and Marty Booker at WR, Chatman/Gado at RB, David Martin at Tight End.

Chad Johnson would also bring releif to Ronnie Brown, opening the field wide for him, which Ronnie will need that to get back in the game, mentally.

Beck can't throw it from his back. When he is getting sacked on a 3 step drop it means our line needs work.

I'm not sure if the line was the problem. Our offensive line was the one bright spot next to our running game this season. Yeah it needs some tweaking here and there but in most games they protected the quarterback well. I think a lot of it had to do with teams blitzing the hell out of a rookie quarterback.

In Beck's first game against Philly he got sacked 0 times. I think he got sacked twice in the Pittsburgh game. Those were easily his two best games of the season. Then the Jets game where his offensive line just seemed to give up. And the Bills game was much of the same. Most of it had to do with poor blocking from our tight end and Chatman. I've seen them both whiff on quite a few plays.

Bring in Ocho, get a healthy Ronnie Brown, and draft Fred Davis or Martin Rucker and I promise you Beck will prove he was worth that 2nd pick.

Our OL did very well in the first half of the season, but the second half of the season they really didnt do half as good as they should have been. Their play def declined as the season went on. Maybe they got tired, maybe they lost thier discipline, but their play def declined

i think they are trying to make the point that the OL needs to give Beck tiem to get the ball to Johnson

    but thanks for the agreement

    BINGO!

That and I was just responding to the kid before me that said Beck can't make throws on his back.

Your assessment tho is dead on Dolpns13.

so we shouldnt improve any area of our offense until we have a great o-line?

seems like of an odd way to go about things

Why do you think thats an odd way to go about things? Im not disagreeing 100% or agreeing 100%... We def need a good OL to give time to our QB but we also need talent on the field as well in other areas

My train of thought exactly.. Okay how about along with Johnson, we obtain Flozell the Hotel? Does that make the Johnson move a good one?

All I'm saying is our offensive line isn't our primary need right now. We were ranked 32nd against the run last season, dead last in the NFL. I believe we'll pick up C.Long/Gholston or Dorsey in the first. 2a. Maybe Fred Davis if he's there, otherwise I think Our first three picks are going defense. Which is exactly how I'd like it to go.

because i dont think you can say "we need to get a good o-line before we can think about getting good WRs"

you try to acquire talent. as much as you can. id rather have good WRs with a bad o-line, than bad WRs with a bad o-line.

shortsightedness and not looking at the big picture is what got this team into so much trouble. we had a great defense and a bad offense. so we stopped going after defensive players and started bringing in offensive players. you cant be surprised the D was bad last year. you always need to try to upgrade talent, regardless of position.

Him coming here sounds like a dumb idea. Cincy is closer to winning than we are, why would he want to come here unless its about money? I don't like players that are headcases when things get bad, he's not worth the trouble IMO.

its not like he is a FA. he doesnt get to choose where he goes when he is traded. the only thing he controls is what his contract will be when renegotiated if miami wants to renegotiate it.

I would only take Ocho Cinco for one reason......Bill Parcells.

If Parcells hadn't been hired, I would not want Chad Johnson. You need to have a disciplinary management to have players who are ****y (ala Moss in New England with Bellicheck).

Someone who can keep him in line.

Well thats the point, in essense, we wouldnt have bad WR's with a bad OL in upgrading the OL, we would have bad WR with a good OL, which would improve QB play, which would improve WR play, or so the thought. Not saying that would happen but would you rather have good WR's with a bad OL, or bad WR's with a good OL? Maybe they both net themselves out and we still stink because the QB can either get the WR the ball, but because they are bad they drop the pass, or the WR's get open because they are good, but the QB cant get them the ball because he is getting sacked all game... The talent has to start somwhere, just finding out where is the tough part

People here think JT will fetch us a 2nd rounder or even a 1st and a lot of you guys think Johnson is only worth a 3rd? No way. The Bengals know we got a 2nd for Chambers, so why would they trade a much better receiver for less? Besides, some other team, like the 49ers, will definately give at least a 2nd rounder for him.

I agree, He led the AFC in recieving like 5 years in a row so because of that I think he is easily a 1st rounder. Is he worth that to us, I dont think so. Maybe, a late 2nd, but i wouldnt give up anything higher

don't we have 3 2nds? Of course Cinn. is going to target one of those.
I'm still not budging from a 3rd for him.

Nope, only 2 seconds. 2-1 (Which is actually the last of the first round) and whatever San Diego;s ends up being.

That has been my arguement. We got a second and seventh for Wes Welker...San Diego gave up a second for Chambers...I still dont think Johnson is going anywhere for less than a second rounder...and if I am the FA< there is ZERO chance of giving up any second round picks...
