Nah man my old house was relatively quiet for 18 years. Only one event happened to me and the others were to my parents. So a total of like 5 events over 18 years isn't bad. Although I did forget a story where my mom was turning on the heater and on the wall a mirror lifted up and sat down vertically in front of her. Like a 6 foot drop and the mirror didn't even crack and stood on its end.

Now my friend's house I spent a lot of time at was totally f'ed up. That place scared the crap out of me and I got to where I wouldn't be alone in that house.

Just speaking the truth Stitches.

The only thing I have experienced is my television cutting on by itself around the same time every night (3:15 am) for about a week. My first thought was that I had somehow set the alarm to go off at that specified time, but later realized that this was an older television and didn't have an alarm. My wife and I then just started to unplug the tv every night before going to bed. However, the first night that we did that I hear a huge bang around the same time the television would usually turn on, so I went into the room and my replica Phins helmet that was sitting on top of the same television hit the floor. Needless to say I moved the helmet elsewhere and just chalked it up to coincidence. On a side note, the tv did belong to my wife's grandmother that had passed away.

Just found this thread myself and ironically I was talking to my sister and niece about this topic 2 nights ago. There has been alot of "seeing things" in my family for as long as I can remember. Alot of things were never really talked about, because coming from a religious family it was seen as taboo and freaked my mother out, even though she saw things herself.

    What have I "seen"?

My grandfather took alot of pride in his church and would volunteer on weekends to go clean and mow, we went with him almost every weekend and gave him a hand. I remember two spiral staircases, one on each side, when you would walk in the front door, they led to the main room were they held services. I used to get a dust rag and start on one side and run up the stairs and then down the other and one time I saw a shadowy nun figure up at the front of the aisle when noone else was there but us.

Just a few years ago I was in the shower and heard someone pounding on the door, not an uncommon accurance at the time, I told "them" to hold on and I would be out in a second and I heard the pounding again. I was getting upset, when I left the bathroom and went downstairs I realized that I was the only one there and all of the doors were locked. This has also happened to my sister and her daughter in that same house.

Alot of things happen at that house, I was walking into the bathroom and saw a small shadow "thing" run out of one of the bedrooms and down the stairs, my niece saw this same figure as well last year. Earlier this year after my mother passed I went to my sisters house, I was in the dining room and she was in the kitchen and I saw someone walk behind her, making adjustments and turning to squeeze between her and the wall, and then out of sight. We were the only ones in the house at the time.

My niece seems to be the one that sees things the most, she has seen everything from shadows to smokey figures, lights and orbs, she saw my mother after she passed, and an old lady that she calls the "old witch". My niece used to have an imaginary friend named Dominic when she was younger, my sister was painting and wallpapering and I went over to give her a hand. While we were ripping down the old wallpaper we saw some writing on the wall and it said "Dominic 1927", keep in mind that we had just ripped this wallpaper down and saw it, there was no way for anyone to write that. My niece is now 16 and she sees more now than she used to, she is seriously afraid of her closet and her dog won't go into her room, and on the rare occasions that they can get him in there he growls at the closet and then runs out of the room.

My nephews saw the "old witch" watching them while they slept, as well as a guy dressed in old clothes. My mother always said she felt like she was being watched and she saw a little girl dressed in an old dress who just disappeared. We've all asked around and come to find out the neighborhood used to be an old cemetery that was moved to a new location to make room for homes and businesses. The graves date back to at least the old Battle of Herkimer and kind of fits into what our family has seen.

My brother who lives in Pennsylvania has seen things since he was little, everything from smoke that seemed to move at will and shadowy "things". When he lived up here for a short time there were alot of strange things that happened at his house. He could walk out of his bedroom (which was clean) and close the door, open it back up 30 seconds later and the room would be a mess. Clothes would be all over the place and everything was just destroyed.

My aunt saw my grandmother not long after she passed. My aunt, uncle and 2 cousins had fallen asleep on the sofa watching TV, when my aunt woke up she saw my grandmother walk down the stairs, walk infront of the TV and into the kitchen. Because it was late and she was still grieving she thought she had imagined it, just then my cousin Jennifer jumped up and started running into the kitchen, my aunt asked where she was going and she said "I'm going to see grandma".

My grandparent's house was haunted, it was a 2 family house and one of the previous owners had hung himself in the bathroom. They used to see balls of light all over the place, the family on the otherside saw them and what they called "the witch" that used to torment the little girls. That family moved out and the women still saw things at their new place. She was doing laundry and put some clean clothes on her bed, turned around and saw them smoking like they were starting to burn, she went to blow it out and saw a young boy's face pop out at her. She woke up a few times with the feeling that someone had put a hood over her head, she couldn't see, hear or breath and could feel someone grab her. Her husband was next to her and didn't see or hear anything.

Some of the people in my family have had religious dreams where they were told that someone was going to pass away and then it happened a couple of days later. One of my aunts suffered with severe backpain and depression and she made things worse by drinking. She tried all sorts of doctors and medication and her back pain wouldn't go away...until she had a dream of angels standing around her house holding hands and they told her that they were praying for her and she woke up a new person.

So either my family is really messed up and we should all be committed or else we've really seen and heard these things for as long as I can remember. :wink2:
