On this morning's NFL Network pre-game show, Adam Schefter brought up the possibility of Stephen Ross bringing Carl Peterson to Miami, especially if Tuna decides to leave. Apparently Ross and Peterson are very close from their days with the USFL Philadelphia Stars.

I hope it doesn't have to come to that.

If Parcells leaves there's no reason to fill his vacant position in the first place, especially with a guy that isn't on the same page as Ireland and Sparano. I would be very disappointed if we hired Peterson in any capacity.

Yeah, I agree, but it's plain speculation - requires Parcells to leave in the first place. That story comes only from a clause that is in his contract, that everyone was aware of many months ago. Mort just trying to make a story out of something that wasn't particularly relevant when no one thought the Phins were going to do anything.

I anticipate, based solely on gut feel, that Parcells may renegotiate a salary increase because of the leverage, but I REALLY can't see him grabbing the $ for the rest of the contract and not do the work he was paid to do. About the only way I see that happening is if Ross comes across as a meddlesome jackass.

It would make me sick to see Carl in Miami, even as the waterboy. He holds players hostage and then gets nothing in return for them 99% of the time. The he drafts players that will be out of the league with a season or two...

A few days ago, Shefter was saying Parcells most likely won't leave.

Not really, at draft time he was throwing out stories of Dallas trading their 2 firsts and Marion Barber to move up to #1, he had a different trade for us each day. These writers (all of them) try hard to connect the dots in order to come up with a story and beat their competition, they all get involved in worthless speculation.

If Ross pushes Tuna out of town for CARL PETERSON we should hold a fan revolt... Brining Peterson in would ruin the chemistry that this coaching staff and front office have.

If Tuna leaves, leave everything alone. Let Ireland be the man, which hs is! IF IT AINT BROKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And he's not leaving according to Wayne Huzienga and the Sun-Sentinel. Schefter is more hit than miss IMO.

    Definitely.

Its not just the fact that he assembled a poor team in Kansas City. I mean he did a good job of finding talent in the draft but awful job of bringing in guys to coach them. The biggest problem I have with him is that he's stubborn. He won't make the right deals and he won't do anything unless he likes it. I'm not a fan of him.

I don't see it happening and even if it does and Parcells stays he will take the backseat to no one. If Parcells left and Peterson was in charge then all of my enthusiasm for this teams future would be in a tailspin but like I said that is a huge rumor right now.
