WOW PS2 has a TON of titles to choose from! Never really paid much attention to how many titles it has because I did not own one and could not play them on my PS3. I stopped by Gamestop and picked up God 0f War, MGS2 &3. What are some other really good titles well known /not so well known along the same lines as those titles? Not a big fan of GTA4 or car driving games or sports games(can't figure them out). I liked Mass Effect, Fable, MGS4, COD2 &4 just to give you an idea of the type of games I like. Which one of the Final Fantasy series is a good one to start with ?
Dark Cloud God of War 2 Grandia III Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmyria Final Fantasy X Final Fantasy X-2 Final Fantasy XII Suikoden III Disgaea: Hour of Darkness Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King Okami Star Ocean: Till the End of Time Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES Odin Sphere Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne Zone of the Enders Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner Jak and Daxter series Ratchet and Clank Series There are some Castlevania games Shadow of Collossus Some would say the Kingdom Hearts games, but I wasn't a fan.
Castlevania: Sympothy Of The Night = best game of that time period. I know it's technically for PS1 but I don't care. FFX sucked.
yeah, I'm in the FF7 didn't age well fan club... Great game, yes. But The SNES Final Fantasy's aged MUCH better. Early 3D games are a mess. SNES was 2D at it's pinnacle. Final Fantasy 12 is fantastic if you put the time it needs into it. It's one of those games I hated at first, took 3 months off of it, went back, and LOVED it.
Yea, I agree VII did not age well. I think it is still fun to play, the cut scenes just aren't that good, lol.
Xenosaga trilogy Metal Gear Solid trilogy box Grand Theft Auto trilogy box Prince of Persia trilogy Okami (unless you have a Wii, then get it for Wii) Ace Combat Zero Mega Man Anniversary Collection Mega Man X Collection Front Mission 4 and 5 Odin Sphere Dragon Quest VIII Wild ARMs 3 through 5 Suikoden V (Stitches, how'd you miss this one? III is horrible!) Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter (if you can find it, it's rare) Zone of the Enders 1 and 2 (again, rare) If you enjoy Disgaea, you'll want to pick up NiS' other strategy games: La Pucelle, Makai Kingdom, Phantom Brave, Disgaea 2.
Who knows, maybe an FF7 remake isn't just a rumor... Hell, seems like remakes are all Square can do right these days. All of their new games suck ***.
Thanks a bunch guys Will have to compile your suggestions and make a trip to gamestop. And as to why it has taken me this long to get one.......well I am not a young as I use to be and the guys that had consoles had the x-box and so thats what I went with. Most of my gaming was on PC anyway so 1 system was enough. Now that I am older I game less but have 4 different systems. Boy do I do things back buttwards.
You may not find some of the games on the suggestion lists at Gamestop, so keep that in mind. And happy gaming.
Castlevania:SOTN is the greatest game in that series. The DS games come close but no cigar. I wish like hell Konami would make a side-scrolling Castlevania for Xbox 360. I hate the 3-D ones.
Castlevnia: SOTN Might still be my favorite game of all time. Great graphics, story, and gameplay. Sure it was a Super Metroid clone... But it added a leveling and inventory system that improved it drastically. The XBL version is $10 and it's anti aliased so it looks great stretched out on your big screen.
To add to Desides and Stitiches List: Need For Speed Underground 2 Need For Speed Most Wanted Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War Def Jam Vendetta Def Jam: Fight For NY Smackdown vs Raw 2006 (If you're into wrestling).
Dark Cloud, beat it, and trade your PS2 in right after. Seriously, that had to be the best game I've owned aside from the GTA's.
