This just came out October 28th. Susan is back to her style that made her so good. I have been a fan of hers for years. If you like a woman singing the blues, and can play guitar, then you may want to give her a listen. Best buy did have it for 9.99. Amazon has it for 10.99. I just started to listen to it, and will leave further feedback. I wanted to pass this along in case you have a blues fan you are looking to get for the holidays. The only CD of hers I've ever heard is one where she's doing covers. I'm not much for musicians doing covers of other people's songs unless I really like them. Is this her original stuff?
Back To The River is Susan Tedeschi's 2008 album, her second recording for Verve Forecast. Susan writes, sings and plays on a hard-driving collection of new songs that offer an emotionally honest look at love and life. Produced by George Drakoulias (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Black Crowes, Jayhawks) it also features performances by Derek Trucks (who also produced 1 track), Gary Louris and Doyle Bramhall II. Tedeschi's Verve Forecast debut, Hope and Desire, focused on her amazing vocal talents as an interpreter of other's songs. This time out she turns her pen, guitar and powerful voice to her own work having written or co-written all but one song.
It's got a old school feel to it. A little Janis Joplin flavor to it. I have really enjoyed it, as I love the blues. I would give it 4 1/2 stars. Nice foot tapping blues.

After listening this for a couple of times in the car today. I would change the rating to 4 3/4 stars. I really enjoy her work, and would highly recommend it. You can give it a listen on the amazon.com link in the first post to see if it is your style.
