Thought this was funny. It's funny that there is a free and functional OS under our noses and people still complain about Vista or Windows in general. Not trying to be a fanboy here because I use em all. I know however, if forced to decide I have a free option. Blog of helios: Linux - Stop holding our kids back
fire her. I'm a huge fanboy. I use windows for recording but that's about it. Linux has taken my computing spirit and run wild with it. I've never had a mac but would probably love them. If it was percentage based i'd say 80/20 and the 20 percent is only so big because I try to record as often as I can. What a poor misguided b*tch.
Wow... Whats next? A teacher belittleing a 5th grade student for having parents that voted for McCain.....
I would probably be with you there man if I didn't have to know Windows front to back for my job. Actually I was on my way there at one point. I had Linux installed on all 3 computers in my home. The only Windows install to be found was running on VMware which was running Linux. To be truthful though, I like a change of pace. Sometimes I just get tried of the same environment and have to switch it up. Right now I am dual booting on my laptop. I thought I would just try out the new Ubuntu distro to see what the noise was all about. I can honestly say that 8.10 is easier for me to configure and install than Windows. Good stuff!!
I'm with you on keeping windows my issue is taking away linux because someone doesn't have the knowledge that there is such a thing as free software.
wow, i just posted a thread bashing linux. i hated ubunto 8.10. idk, it crashed a lot and didn't give me everything xp did. having said that, xp can be free too. no need to bash the kid.
There's no such thing as free software? Have I been paying Adobe this whole time for reading PDFs without realizing it? I would like to suggest a course of action to correct this problem. This teacher should be compelled to write a 5,000 word paper on free software.

It really depends on the hardware you are using when it comes to crashing. I have had no problems with my installs thus far. Also, you can almost always find a Linux app that is an alternative to a Windows app. Last but not least, XP is not free "legally".
You have GOT to be KIDDING me. I thought this was the typical "The Onion" type of article, but I guess not. I don't even know where to begin, but I think I'm going to shutup or I'm going to violate some of the TOS. WHO gave this ****** her position? DEFINITION of Pathetic, with absolutely ZERO Computer Science credentials. ZERO.
I'd thank you several more times if I could. I hope someone has written in on this. I've got to stop otherwise I'll definitely violate the TOS. Computing Freedom is hard for me not to be passionate about.
