I thought Griffin won his fight, IMO. Also as much as I despise him, props to Koschek for taking the fight and giving it a good effort. Alves is a beast.
He def took some big shots. That big right hand that knocked him back, a few big knees and a kick.. He has a good chin though.
He screwed around and had to cut a bunch of weight fast, and I think that affected him. I think Junie can fight better than he showed if he gets his act together. That said, I don't think he's as good as advertised (mostly by himself). Yeah he tore up that dude to get into the house. But he was gassed at the end of the round. And they alluded to Efrain submitting him multiple times in one of the early episodes.
According to the interviews on MMAWeekly.com we're gonna see an improved Junie as the show goes on. Both Junie and the guy he beat mentioned that "People should keep watching" and that "Junie turns some heads" later on. The guy he beat mentioned his punching power and that we see more of it.
Anyone else think Couture may be biting off a little more than he can chew with Lesnar? I never count Randy out but Brock is def gonna be his toughest opponent since Liddel.
You can never count out Randy, like you said. But now that Brock has a win over a good fighter and a little more experience he may be too fast for Randy. But Randy knows how to get submissions, I'm sure he keyed in on how Mir beat him.
I wouldnt worry about Lesnar being too fast, it's his size and power that would concern me if I was Randy. Having that big mofo hanging on you for a few mins would tire anyone out. Not to mention catching a solid shot from him.
If Randy is anything like he was prior to his tif with the UFc, I think he'll dominate Lesnar. Dirty boxing may not work though, unless he hurts him early like Tim Sylvia, and takes his spirit.
His cardio is gonna have to be more amazing than usual though for that to happen IMO. I can't see Randy knocking out Lesnar fast. Maybe if it drags into late rounds and he wears him down first. Tim Sylvia is such a scrub that he cant be used to measure other heavyweights IMO.
Leben Tests Positive For Roids As if I needed another reason to hate Chris Leben: I say that his punishment should be having to fight Silva again. What I bolded is the biggest line of bull**** I've read in awhile.
me neither, never liked him from TUF on. and i recall thinking during the the Bisping fight that he was thicker than he has been before, through the chest, triceps and shoulders in particular.
Damn, Faber KO'd in 1. I didn't think he'd lose for a long time. I almost went to those fights last night.
yeah i was watching that waiting for TUF to start. My jaw just about hit the floor. I still am shocked just thinking about it.
Oh yeah, I forgot to post about this. Has anyone else heard about this? Seth Petruzelli actually dressed up as Kimbo Slice for Halloween!
Agreed, the whole house garbage each season has gotten worse, its become a caricature and gimmick and I thinks its an embarrassment. surprised Dana hasn't cracked down, but I guess he doesn't feel the same way. But its bad for the image and league IMO!

Thank you for correcting me on my errant ways on Asian dining....now I can live a fulfilled man, and I owe..it..all...to...you....
So looking forward to these two matchups -Forrest Griffin (#1 Light Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Rashad Evans (#4 Light Heavyweight in the World)* -Quinton Jackson (#2 Light Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Wanderlei Silva (#6 Light Heavyweight in the World)* So, who is #1 Featherweight??? edit: Mike Brown (Brown def. Faber via TKO - R1 (2:23) how did I miss this fight???) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0lqfhVkqZ8&feature=related[/ame] - Urijah Faber (#2 Featherweight in the World)* vs. Jens Pulver (if anything like the 1st fight...lookout...epic rematch) Also, has Amir Sadollah fought since winning UFC 7??? edit...nevermind...
Welterweight Bout: Georges St. Pierre (#1 Welterweight in the World)* vs. B.J. Penn (#1 Lightweight in the World)* GSP should crush once again!!! I love Penn's ground game, but it just seems he will be overmatched in every facet.
I duno about that. Penn looks like he's in waaaay better shape now. GSP can obviously be hurt standing so you never know.
I'm still confused as to why they are wasting Faber's time with a rematch with Pulver. With everything Faber has done in that weight class he should have been given an immediate rematch. Pulver is coming off a nasty 1st round KO to a guy who was coming off a nasty loss himself.
Sure anything is possible, but GSP is solid shape himself. I dont think he takes Penn lightly. Yeah, dont know how I missed his loss to Mike Brown. Definately should have a rematch with him instead.
I just really dislike GSP so it would be nice to see someone else beat on him. However, Penn is a pretty big Dbag himself.
Anyone that blinked would have missed it. He bounced off the cage and walked right into the guy's fist. It was a quick fight. The reaction of the crowd was priceless.
is it me, or did they bag the last episode of tuf? last week was the first semis. tonight was the fight for the troops. saturday at 9 is the finale...so wheres the tuf episode? wtf happened?
it was on last week right after the first one. They had back-to-back new episodes. 10pm-12am. You basically turned it off at halftime.
Crap me too. Man those knees Saunders landed were nasty. Koschek knocked that dude asian..he was white when he entered the octagon.
I don't understand why that dude Saunders destroyed didnt try to throw some uppercuts, shoot for a leg, or just slip out of the clinch. He just sat there taking a million knees for the most part. That was a hell of a KO that Koscheck had. Seems like every asian that fights in the UFC just gets annihilated. I forget who did it, but there was some asian guy fighting awhile back with a wide open stance and he just got clobbered for 5 mins straight.
Did you see the guy get his arm broken earlier in the card? O U C H ! ! The guy didn't even have an expression on his face, like he didn't feel it at all. That show was better than the last 5 PPVs I've seen. Posted via Mobile Device
