Just throwin it out there.....There are ties you know.

Plax: direct ties with Parcells and Coughlin, joey porter his ex teammate, and the Giants {for whats its worth}. I think we got the staff that will keep that boy in check.

Ocho: We all know he wants to play here..i believe the last i heard, he was waving down parcells on the side of the road professing his love..

I would take #85 and hope that he would find that spirit that he had when he was sleeping in the clubhouse and workin on his game.

I'd be willing to bet both options will be at least discussed in the offseason. We do need a veteran so our young trio can at least learn from.

Do either of these guys have it in their character to change and embrace?

Plaxico is a train wreck waiting to happen. Ocho Cinco is atleast stable as a player.

I say neither. Give me a hard-working, cookie-cutter route runner, film junkie like Amani Toomer. Brandon London loves Toomer because of how hard he works and I think Ginn, Bess and Camarillo would all benefit from having Toomer around. He's a guy that I could see the FO targeting, providing that he's willing to leave the Giants which he may not be.

Chad Johnson, Ocho Cinco, 85, whatever he wants to be called nowadays won't fit in here for a couple reasons. I love watching him on the field, he brings it every game but he is a distraction and he has had issues in the past in the locker room. There's the infamous fight with him and coaches at halftime of a playoff game and he's disrespected the man in charge of the football team in the past. I also think he would whine about not getting the ball and that won't fit as the offense spreads the wealth and does not build around a single player. Like I said, as much as I love watching him, I wouldn't want him to be a distraction on this team.

Plaxico Burress has talent but he doesn't practice and he speaks his mind too much. Not to mention, he does stupid things like the gun incident. He has been late to team meetings in the past, including this year.

In the end, give me Amani Toomer.

After the TO experence do you really think either one of these guys will even get a look see? Not me, now whoses your moma, maybe but even that one I really don't think would have a chance with this FO. They don't seem to be so high on WRs and with what we have plus a strong armed accurate QB I think that they will say we are good enough.:wink2:

Honestly DJ, I think there's -0- chance these two are even thought about by the FO. Absolutely none.

In my opinion, no. Its difficult to change someone's personality and/or views on things, especially when they have egos.

I know Anquan Boldin is a pipe dream, but give me that guy instead. Takes a vicious hit, the docs fix him up with some screws holding his jaw together and he's back on the field playing in 2 weeks. That's a Parcells guy. Although between those 2 options, at this point you have to go with 85. Prior to the gun incident I would have gone with Plax

so you would'nt even entertain the idea?

The reason i ask this question is because, at some point in both of their careers i loved their game.. When plax was coming out of michigan state he was ridiculously good, i thought he was gonna dominate. Chads game by itself would be perfect for us, remember what he did to us last year.

So you dont belive in any reclamation projects for this team Alen?

I wouldn't entertain the idea of bringing either of the guys. Why? They are the exact opposite of what this team looks for.

Don't get me wrong DJ, they are excellent talents, both of them. However, they don't have their heads on straight and I want them to be smart not only on the field, but off the field as well. Those two don't exactly meet those expectations. I realize someone will say that Johnson has never had off the field issues (outside of his life prior to the NFL) but he does speak his mind more than one would like.

We need depth and we need some more starters via free agency. Get the right guys though, don't bring in troublemakers. As I mentioned earlier, bring in Amani Toomer. He's a great guy in the film room, he's a hard worker and he can essentially be our Isaac Bruce. Bruce came to a bad 49ers team this year and he has taught some of the younger guys on that team the right way. He's quietly doing what he's always done, working hard every practice and game, in the film room and finding ways to improve his game, despite his age and limits. He excels in route runner, he's the perfect guy to describe as a cookie-cutter route runner in my opinion. Amani Toomer fits that description as well, which is why I say bring him in. Another guy I wouldn't be surprised to see a Miami Dolphin in 2009 is Sam Hurd. With Roy Williams, Miles Austin, Terrell Owens and Patrick Crayton, I can see a guy like Hurd getting the boot and I could see him being a Dolphin. I think that we do need to bring in guys via FA, bring in the right guys though, no matter the position.

I would love to get Anquan Boldin here. He's one of my favorite WR's out there for the reasons you list. He's a hard worker, puts the team ahead of himself (look at his contract situation in the off-season). However, I have to wonder how high is value is after the Roy Williams trade. He's, no doubt in my mind, a better player than Roy Williams and we saw what Williams went for. Do I think that it will take around the same deal to get Boldin here? No, but I do think that it will take multiple draft picks, whether that's a first and a third or 2 first rounders.

I didn't think it was possible but Ocho Cinco makes TO look humble. They produce on the field but yea, they're head-cases. But then again so were Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. Not many fans on their current team want them gone. Frankly I wanted Boldin and Roy Williams but I'm not sure we'd get the 1st and I'm 100% sure we aren't getting the 2nd anymore.

Toomer's getting old and talent-wise, he's not where Plax and Ocho are right now. It's a shame he hasn't been in some time. Frankly, I think he's going to stay a Giant. He's the kind of WR I want (tall 6'3"+ lanky frame, decent hands, good route runner, decent speed) but about 6-7 years too late.

I still can't get over some calling Chad Johnson anything other then C.J. or his 1st name.

Both guys are over 30 years old,Both still think they are 8 year old and i really think any team is better without them.

How are we discussing Plax when the guy is looking at up to 15 years in jail and the mayor of NYC is pissed and wants the book thrown at him?

Seriously, he may not be allowed out of a small locked room for years.. forget about what he'd do in our offense.

Neither. We've built a team here. Thats the reason we've been so successful this year, because were playing as a team. We dont have any "me first" type guys here, thats easy to see when you look at our RB situation, even our WR's. we dont rely on any one player, and we dont have any one player screaming for the ball. We get it done as a team, week in, and week out. Bringing either of these two in here ruins all of that instantly. Sure, theyre both great players. Just not what we are looking for here..

I dont think their personalities match anything short of Cast members for the next release of "The Longest Yard."

Both are a distraction and taking a roster spot away from somebody that understands, respects and works hard to better his game.

Ocho-stinko is such a selfish turd (Second only to Turdell himself). The handful of TD's he would possibly contribute would not be worth all the headache he causes.

Burrass? You kidding me? You do all realize this Dumb-*** had two team mates sitting at the table with him when he shot himself. How would it go over if he were out with Ted Ginn and Ricky and actually shoots one of them on accident.

    No thanks to either.

I agree with Alen, give me Toomer over either any day. Bring Boldin into the conversation and he wins it over ANYBODY else out there, hands down.

Get on the phone with Arizona and offer Brown and the 2nd from Washington. They need a powerhouse runner, they are in deep cap trouble as soon as the offseason kicks in and that offer might just leave them - to put it in poker terms - with a crying call.

2.9 AVG Hightower? I know a lot of draftnicks on the board liked the guy coming out of college (I did too) but he's not an every down back in the NFL. I've watched quite a couple of Arizona games and he's a purely complimentary back. They need an every down back badly especially considering that the structure of their team is win now all the way.

In a round about way I think.

The real reason he quit is because of Jerra IMO. Of course the spur that created the demise in that relationship was indeed Jerra demanding that Parcells let TO in.

I disagree, and I have also seen EVERY Cardinals game.

Hightower took over the #1 spot when Edge got hurt. Edge is back and healthy, yet Hightower is still starting.

Also, they are far from being a WIN now team. They are without a doubt one of the youngest teams in the league

... and averaging a lousy 2.9 yards per carry (any starter in the league putting up less?), has absolutely no field vision behind the line and doesn't hit the hole hard - or at all. The guy's a nice receiver and a somewhat decent GL back but starter material he is not. 2.9 yards per carry are the epitome of lousy.

And they solely rely on 89 year old Kurt Warner and will be in deeeeeeeep cap hell for a couple of years.

They are not a great run blocking team, but the kid has all the tools and has shown flashes. They would want more than Brown and a #2 for Boldin.

I disagree. I've seen him play in the NFL and he's got neither the tools nor has shown flashes. The Hightower love on this board is beyond me really. The kid does absolutely nothing in the ground game outside of goal line situations. Not. A. Single. Thing.

Dunno. They probably do but I don't think they'll get what they are looking for anyway. Teams know that Arizona absolutely has to let a playmaker leave and they won't overpay. Arizona hasn't got a lot of leverage.

I'm sure the subject will come up in the offseason as well, but lets look at this from Parcells' view...

TO...Been there, done that, big part of the reason JJ and I broke up...I'm not going down that road again...I don't want any prima donna's on my team. No more "the player" on my team...

Ocho Stinko...Same thing...why do I want to go there either...another prima donna who will need 'special handling'. I can't do this and if I did, I'd have no one to blame but myself....I had my 'special handling' guy in LT a few years back and then had TO shoved down my throat...don't want no more...

Then there's the money...we've already blown $6 M on one WR that hasn't paid back anything to me. Let's spend that money on a CB, S, OLB, NT or even an ILB and keep scraping the wires for the right WR. We have more than one need on this team, and WR isn't at the top...it's not like one prima donna will put us over the top anyways...We'll see who else is out there come the offseason and fix the WR spot then....without the prima donnas...

Neither. Both are unnecessary distractions. Too many more talented options out there like Boldin who are MORE productive with none of the baggage. There should be a couple great options in the draft as well. Why pay the price tag for guys who aren't guaranteed to be productive and are guaranteed distractions? Especially when we have a QB in Pennington who has proven how much he can do with a pretty unproven groups of WRs.
