This is where I'm going to be posting my charts. I've got the LT done for every team and am currently working my way through LG, C, RG & RT at every team. Once that's done I guess I'll move on to the TEs since I'm working on the lines first it seems. Then I'll move to the Dline. By any chance would anyone be willing to help me compile this information? There's only 5 categories at the moment. name, age, height, weight, team. The position category would be obvious because of the way you would name the template. IE. the left tackle one is named "NFLLT" for NFL Left Tackle. I have a template saved already to get started. Any help would be appreciated and would go into the final product and I'd give you credit for making that particular sheet. For those of you asking why I'm doing this it's for several reasons. I want to know the prototypical height and size of an NFL starter at that given position. I want to see (by age) who might be drafting a player in that position and I want to know what they'll be looking for on average. When the regular season comes to an end for the skilled positions (for me that's anything but the line) I might add stats like INTs, Sacks, Etc but I have yet to decide. I don't know if anyone has compiled this information but I think it could be useful to some. EDIT: I realize asking for help is kinda cheap.. and if no one wants to that's fine. I'm kinda picky anyway so maybe it's better. I was just thinking that many hands make light work.
LT ^ LT ^ LG ^ RG ^ RT ^ C - Feel free to download them and use them, guys. I haven't started figuring out the averages yet this is just the information. It's there, though. It's done by position. Under each section (LG, C, RG, RT) You'll find every starter, their height, weight and age for every team.
Patriots, Steelers, Cowboys, Eagles, Redskins, Bears, Lions, Packers, Rams, Seahawks – LT Jets, Broncos, Chiefs, Cowboys, Redskins, Lions, Vikings, Saints, Seahawks – LG Browns, Steelers, Colts, Jaguars, Titans, Broncos, Cowboys, Giants, Redskins, Bears, Vikings, Falcons – C Bengals, Raiders, Chargers, Cowboys, Redskins, Panthers – RG Jets, Chiefs, Raiders, Cowboys, Eagles, Bears, Packers, 49ers – RT These teams have Olinemen who are thirty or older in their given position. The Redskins have 4/5 positions with players who are 30 or older. The cowboys have 5/5. I think all these teams could be looking for Olineman either in FA or the Draft. These aren't based on player contracts, though. Just age. They'll at least be thinking about drafting one in the next few years.
I haven't downloaded them yet but I have to ask about the post above. Are those linemen in their mid thirties or just passed 30? Because linemen can go up to 35-36 years old and be good players.
Some are 30, 31, 32, etc. There's one guy who's 37 and he's either a guard or a center. There's a few who are 34,35,36 ish. That's why I said that "at very least in a few years they'll be looking" because I know Olinemen can take a beating for quite some time. To answer your question though most are either 30-33ish. This also isn't based off contract so obviously if Player X is 32 years old but has 5 years remaining (just an example) obviously they're not going to be jumping off a cliff to sign a guy right away.
DE and DTs today. Maybe TEs. Mathias Kiwanuka has the same birthday I do but two years earlier. I won't be working on this tomorrow during the day. Maybe at night I'll crunch some numbers.
- LE - RE Once again feel free to use. Same as last time. Done by position. Height, Weight, Age. DTs next.
7 teams have REs 30 or older. Bills, Dolphins, Steelers, Titans, Raiders, Falcons, Cardinals. 13 teams have LE 30 or older. Jets, Ravens, Steelers, Colts, Titans, Broncos, Eagles, Redskins, Bears, Lions, Bucs, Rams, Seahawks Once again this is based off of 30 or older, no contracts. I think you might see these teams looking for players in these positions in the upcoming years. The teams in bold have players 32 or older in that position and depending on who they drafted in 2008 you could see them pick up a player there this year, IMO.
I just started the DTs. Obviously some teams play a 4-3 and 3-4. The way this works is this. Obviously if they play a 4-3 it's easy. There's two tackles. The 3-4 defenses I will list the starter and the backup at the NT position. The NT in the 3-4 will go under "RDT" and the backup goes under "LDT".
Ahg I hit a snag. Wikipedias list of DT for the Denver Broncos and the NFLs list for the Denver Broncos don't match up. Who starts as DT (both of them) for the Denver Broncos?
DTs are done: - RDT - LDT Here's how it works. The RDTs are either the RDT in a 4-3 scheme or a NT in the 3-4 scheme. You can see which teams play what in the RDT.pdf. The LDT sheet is either a LDT in a 4-3 or a backup NT in a 3-4 scheme. You'll have to refer to the RDT sheet to figure that out.
