Interesting, Arizona, and especially Tucson is usually one of the lowest prices in the US of A, but it is still up around 2.31 here
1.86 here and cnn is saying it could drop another 15 cents in the coming weeks but from there who knows. Gas will go up before the Holidays start in earnest that is for sure so its just a matter of time.
Hate to be the rain cloud, but don't get too excited over this, guys. The price of oil will go back up. There are a bunch of reasons why, but long story short, enjoy this while it lasts.
I hate all of you. I am still paying $4.06 a gallon ON BASE!!! Write your congressmen and let them know how AAFES is ripping off your servicemen overseas.
I give thanks today because the gas price was $4.06 a gallon yesterday (literally). Today, the gas price on-base dropped all the way to: $2.43! So, why I'm not as happy as you folks are, I am happy I saved over $13 today filling up my tank.
90.3 a liter by my house today....that is $3.41 a gallon. Makes me feel good since we export all of our oil to the U.S. but you all have better gas prices than us. Crooks. We were paying over a $1.00 a liter in Vancouver while the rest of Canada was under .90. Now we are at .90 and the rest of the country is in the mid .70's, it's hilarious. Hell, we were paying a $1.20 a liter when oil was at $60 a barrel, it was a $1.50 when oil was $150+ a barrel! The gas companies are raping Canadian's.
Umm...I wish. California = 163,707 square miles Japan = 145,840 square miles Florida = 58,560 square miles And I drive a Toyota Gaia that gets about 16-19 miles to the gallon.
Off-base prices have come down. They're a lot higher than Canada. It's about 140 yen to the liter here. 140 yen = ~$1.50 now, EDIT: I stand corrected. I looked at gas prices on the way to the mall today and it was 113 per liter on the economy.
$1.80-$2.09 here in south florida. the gas stations right by my house are cheaper than average, have been averaging $1.85/gal i havent seen prices this low since i first started driving back in '04 and that was when gas first started climbing above $2
Thats a very good point Michael. I was reading a report on speculation why gas prices are dropping so much. A very very large part has to do with the Supply and Demand. Supply is up and demand, mostly due to the high prices, is way down. Bottomline is that people have adapted and are quickly overcoming our "Addiction" to crude. 6 weeks ago Chavez and Iran wanted to jack prices way up again, OPEC has not let that happen as demand is now driving the market.... Wish I had a link to that report....
Soon the automakers won't be putting so much R&D into alternative fuel power and the oil business' future will be bright again. Enjoy it while you can but, they're only doing it to re-insert the hooks.
