    Well away from here
I recorded this game last night and haven't watched all of it. I watched to get an idea of Coye Francies #21 - CB - 6'1'' 185lbs. Francies got an intercpetion in the first quarter, and from what I saw looked pretty smooth, although he doesn't always get in there to tackle the runner.

The guy who blew my doors off (and Bear Pascoe as he rocked Pascoe twice in the first quarter and caused an incomplete and a fumble) was Duke Ihenacho #2 - SS - 6'1'' 200lbs. This kid has a future ahead of him, he is only a sophomore but I reckon he'll be a well known name either next year or 2010. Either way this kid is amazingly talented and leaps off the screen at you. Make a note of this guy's name, trust me. If he continues to play at the same level he'll be coveted.

For those of you who don't know San Jose St. has been producing a few quality players from the secondary, and the best part of the entire program is the secondary as a whole.

Watched a good part of the game last night and saw the very same thing with #2. Nice frame, has a nose for the ball and rocked Fresno States running back on at least two occasions. Then they mentioned he was a Sophomore and I wanted to pull my hair out, was hoping he would be in next years class to add more depth to the Safety class.

Is it just me or does San Jose St. have some seriously out of shape OL?

I watched the fourth quarter, keying in on Coyie Frances. He was often out of the screen so it was difficult to catch him but I thought he played pretty well in run support. Does a good job of tackling, not necessarily a lay the wood type of tackle nor is he an interference tackler. I saw him play a little bit of bump and run and I liked what I saw. I didn't really get to see him turn his hips or change directions so I'm interested if he's a man to man guy or zone. Can you guys touch on that? He was considered the toughest player at Oregon State but then transferred after some gun charges were brought up. That's a red flag. He certainly is talented but he has had some off-the-field issues.

Only watched most of the first quarter, but I have the game on DVD so its all good. I can check it in a bit. I am all over the place recording stuff today. Hopefully another 6 -7 games added this week. I have the 3 from before today already recorded. The hard part is that I don't get to watch them all at this point.

Sweet, thanks. I'm pretty damn upset that I haven't gotten my recorder yet. I had to lend out some money so I'm waiting to be paid back to go and buy the recorder. You'll get to watch them bro, I know you have an itch to watch them all day if you can but there's not enough time. But it is still a while away from the draft so you will be able to do your thing.

Oh yeah I will. I have 'em all nice and ready to go. I'm getting some pretty random teams being shown today, which lets me get a view of some prospects I might not have seen otherwise.

Plus there are always the 300+ Bolw games there seem to be every year too.

Yeah, I'm watching Purdue and Indiana lol. Never thought I'd watch Indiana play but they're getting beaten pretty bad. However, I did get to catch Alex Magee, the DE/DT I mentioned in the other thread. I'd never seen him before but I like what I'm seeing.

Yeah, me too. I have this one recorded as is Boise State vs Nevada, Ole Miss vs LSU, Oregon St. vs Arizona, Texas Tech vs Oklahoma and Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati.

Plus the three from this week - not a bad haul at all.

I don't know if your paying much attention to it but what are your thoughts on David Pender, the DB of Purdue? He's got the size and 40 speed but to me, he looks like a zone CB.

    Haha.

I'd lean that way, but I'd like to watch the game again without the kids around.

Makes it easier to do when you don't have to play hotwheels and read Curious George books.

If I recall correctly, Francies was dismissed from Oregon St. for violating team rules and was arrested for illegal weapons possession. Other than that, he's got great size and speed for a CB and I've been impressed by his play whenever San Jose St. is on TV. As for tackling, he's on and off in that department. Some games he's almost like a safety and other's he's absent.

Ihenacho was a former OLB and I think a big part of his instincts come from there.

His brother is a DE, but doesn't seem as explosive an athlete as his counterpart #2. I mean #2 was lighting guys up last night on more than one ocassion, and he covered pretty well too from what you could see. He certainly caught my attention.

Thanks for the inside info. I will note that.

I've taped this but not watched it yet. Did AJ Jefferson play CB? I watched the Nevada game against Colin Kaepernick and he only returned kicks.

It was good to see a fellow HS teammate, Sean Flynn, get some action at QB though he's still an inaccurate thrower and takes sacks by the bundle. Once a Spartan, always a Spartan I guess. I thought he'd have graduated by now but I guess he's still hanging around.

I didn't see a #28 running around in the secondary but could've just been the angle.
