Batista is getting old, they are giving him one last big push, I dont think he will be around much longer. He has already shown interest in being an actor long term.

I understand he's getting old but that's no excuse to take the title off the hottest wrestler in the company. Jericho is getting old too, he's in his upper 30s/early 40s now.

I just think it's a huge mistake for Jericho to drop the title 2 months into his run when he was in the hottest feud of the year with HBK and put on some great matches as champ already.

Batista is plain old boring. He does the same act all the time. He's not a very good wrestler, can't work a promo and if he wasn't roided up he'd be a nobody.

Yes I'm just bitter but this is the 2nd time Jericho has been screwed as champion, it's not fair to him that they let guys like Randy Orton carry the title around for months while Jericho who's more talented all around gets a cup of coffee, a pat on the back and a new feud where he'll job to the likes of CM Punk or Kingston.

I agree that Jericho deserved the belt for his stellar work. However, I do believe that the ratings have been down with him as champ. Personally, I think that makes sense when you consider that the title reign coincides with the start of Monday Night Football and the postseason of Major League Baseball. All are going after the same demographic and it has to effect Raw's ratings somewhat.

I am sure part of the blame will be spread to Jericho (unfairly, I might ad). The part that I don't get is, if you ARE hellbenton doing a title switch to Batista...why let Austin be a big part of the outcome? Don't you naturally have HBK superkick him into a Batista-bomb so that HBK gets the last laugh?

It makes sense to me. Plus, you give Jericho an excuse to go after Michaels again and continue their fued with a new dynamic. Perhaps build up to a Hell in the Cell Survivor Series match.

Or, my ultimate pipe dream. Jericho says enough is enough and proposes a match never seen before in the WWE. A match that will finally end this war between he and Michaels.

    WAR GAMES.

Then, each week, have Jericho introduce another one of his teammates. The key is to have them either: hate Michaels as well, or have experience in the war games match themselves. It could be a solid, interesting build to blowoff the fued once and for all and create intrigue for something new in the WWE.

ehhh, i watched the TNA show on Spike with Foley's big announcement, and despite a few bright spots, i just didn't see too much to hold my interest there either. neither company is doing alot right now to keep my interest.

Did anyone else pick up the Hell In A Cell DVD set that came out last week? I haven't gotten around to watching it yet, was looking for any opinions of it.

And does anyone else find it funny that WWE "Films" is now specializing in direct-to-DVD video releases. Case in point: Kennedy in Behind Enemy Lines III.

the Cena movie, Kane's horror movie, and Stone Cold's movie did poorly at the box office. i didn't even know there had been a "Behind Enemy Lines 2," let alone 3.

Interesting fact of the day: Remember Road Warrior Animal? James Laurinaitis is his son. Maybe we should have 2nd thoughts about not drafting this kid. After all spikes on the shoulder pads would be a great way to mash our way through the AFC. Im sure Parcells would be in favor....

For Road Warrior, it's been quite a ride

Part timer? In this thread Im a 2 poster! Dont know what that is? Its 2 posts and done with the thread

Sorry it was old news but I didnt know that. I was just envisioning Laurinitis pulling a spike out of his shoulder pads, putting it through Tom Brady's other knee and screaming "Arghhh, what a rush" :pointlol:

Hawk used to scream that...not Animal.

Also, I thought it was common knowledge? I thought it was old news when Enforcer brought it up months ago. Oh well.

I think the kid has New England written all over him. I wouldn't touch him. I have never liked him as a football player.

And Hawk was a crazy man. Certifiably nuts.

Happy to see Jericho win it back, although I am befuddled as to why he lost it in the first place. If you just wanted to bump up Batista's and Jericho's title count, fine. But you could have easily had Jericho win with all the outside interference at Cyber Sunday and justify a cage match to prevent intereference for this show.

Jericho retains and moves on to focus on Cena, Batista goes and does something else.

I've heard rumors that Dibiase failed a wellness test, which makes sense with the injury angle they just did with him. Too bad as he is one of the young guns that I like.

And can we please end the brand split already? I know why they have it, but having all the stars on one show was nice and made it seem important for once.

I agree I'm glad Jericho got the belt back however it was pointless. Right now it just makes the title look weak, the WWE needs a long run for its champion and right now Jericho is keeping the belt warm for a Cena/Batista match at WM.

And if true too bad about Dibiase. I like him too and see a lot of potential.

And yes the brand split was a good idea when they had actual talent to fill two shows but right now both brands are weak. Maybe they can load up the stars all on RAW and have Smackdown be somewhat of a minor league promotion with young guys (Dibiase, Rhodes, Punk) and let them get over and get experience.

Also, I don't know why, but the mini staredown between Michaels and Undertaker had me intruiged last night. It is probably nothing, but I got the vibe that HBK's wheels were turning about Undertaker and Wrestlemania.

It would be a marquee match that we haven't seen in a long time. Beyond that, you have HBK looking to once again be the showstopper by ending UT's streak, Undertaker's history of stopping HBK's career for years (their old Royal Rumble match footage should be used) and you give HBK an excuse to turn heel, or at least become a tweener for awhile from Survivor Series on through Wrestlemania.

    I think I like it...

As for the minor league idea. They are doing that with ECW and I think it is working. I am a big fan of Mike Knox, The All-American American, Bourne, and a few others. I would love to see ECW merge with Smackdown, move some of the higher ups from Smackdown over to Raw and make Smackdown into a breeding ground for younger guys again. I think that could work.

Yeah I agree about putting ECW and Smackdown together, having ECW is pretty pointless now in my opinion. If it's not going to be like what it once was (and for the wrestler's sake I'm glad it's not) there is no reason why they should have it.

Eh I guess HBK vs. UT would make sense as really HBK is the only one that fans would think has a legit shot at being him. They could use the Texas vs. Texas angle as well. I'm not sure it will be that good of a match but if anyone can work his magic it's HBK.

You're probably right because that would mean the current writers are actually planning something out in the long term. Most of the time it seems like they don't even know what to do from show to show, let alone months in advance.

Yeah 1997-98 that had some great matches (especially the first Hell in the Cell). I don't think if HBK/UT were to fight at WM it wouldn't be much of a feud just a one match deal. Like I said in my previous post it would make sense because really who does the WWE have that could face UT and fans might think could beat him. It would either be HBK, Triple H or Cena. And again factoring in that both HBK and UT are from Texas and WM is in Texas it makes sense that's where we're headed.

Yeah I saw that too. I knew he was leaving, had heard it was for roids.

Given what he IS leaving for, I wished it was for roids...I can't believe they are making a part 2 of that crap.

At this point, I think I could write a script and get it sold to WWE Films

    Say...:shifty:

    From WWE.com:

BOSTON – Jeff Hardy was found unconscious in a stairwell at his hotel in Boston today, and was rushed to the nearest emergency room.

Due to privacy issues, WWE is not releasing the name of the hospital.

WWE.com will have more information if it becomes available.

Well first off hopefully he's ok. Second hopefully this isn't anything drug related because there's no way the WWE keeps him around this time.

    UPDATE:

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it appears as if the Jeff Hardy story on WWE.com is an angle for tonight's show and not a legitimate news story. It is believed that it is an angle due to the fact that people in the company did not know anything about it (him being rushed to the hospital).

    Credit: Wrestlingobserver.com

If it is a work I think it's dumb on the WWE's part.

It may be dumb, depending on what they do with the angle. I see quite a few possibilites, like a feud between Jeff Hardy and Vickie Guerrero's camp or something. Possibly a heel turn by Triple H.

Edit: Or heck, an angle similar to the "Who ran over Stone Cold" angle. Seeing how unstable (kayfabe) Jeff is at the moment, I could see him attacking superstar after superstar until he finds who did it.

I think its stupid if its a work because many fans may think it was drug related since hardy has a history such. I first read it and thought Hardy overdosed and most going to lose his job since this would be his 3rd suspension.
