ProFootballTalk.com - WATCH OUT FOR THE FINS Mike Florio actually writes a nice and short piece that doesn't include laughter and disrespect. I think that we can finish with those records but I don't expect it. I have had my projected win total at 6-10 but I'm thinking 8-8 is more like it at the moment. We should be able to beat those teams listed in the quote but should is the keyword. We lost to a Texans team that was coming off of a 2 minute meltdown to Indianapolis the week before. With the secondary playing well right now and the passing game going well, I think that we may miss the playoffs but we will most certainly be a team that will be tough down the stretch and will knock out a hopeful playoff team. Florio also talks about the coaching staff later in the writeup. What has really impressed me this year with the coaching staff is that they are able to patch up some of the weaknesses that are exposed in the previous game in a short time. Its a lot like up in New England. I'm not saying that this coaching staff is as good as the one in New England but I think the ability to patch up holes in certain areas of the team in a short time is similar to Belichick this year and in the past.
Some times I feel like every time we say Miami should win this one or Miami will win that one, it jinxes us. I will hope for the best, root for the Dolphins but will take whatever comes, good or bad, rain or shine. "GO DOLPHINS"
Very rare to see an article from Florio that gives us legitimate props. I also think that we shouldn't keep looking at the Texans like their as horrible as their early record looked. They have a very impressive offense. Only problem is that their defense is equally awful.
He may have given us some props, but he still gave us a major diss calling us one of the most historically downtrodden teams. Yeah 5 years with a losing record since 1969, that is real downtrodden let me tell you. Someone call up the Lions, they need to find a new term for their franchise if we are downtrodden.
I think failure is a bit harsh, but a set back and need rework areas a definite yes. 9-7 would be nice but in honesty i think 11-3 is very obtainable if we just stay focused. If we catcth 10 or 11 wins I will be overwhelmingly impressed with Parcels, not to say im not already totally impressed withe guy. I think he is going to go down in history as the all time greatest coach ever. Dare I say this but I put him and only him in front of shula on that list. Which by the way I dont if this known by everyone but he started out his nfl coaching career under shula as an line coach in baltimore.
I respectably disagree with you. 8-8 would be a major accomplishment based on what this team did a year ago. Don't forget we're still very young and young teams tend to struggle and go through growing pains. Don't get me wrong, I think we're better than 8-8...much better actually. But I'm not going to look at 8-8 as a massive failure if it happens.
any given sunday anything can happen we can come out with a record of less then 9 wins but still of played well in all the remaining games. That would be a disappointment but not necessarily a failure on the teams part. What if we go 8-8 because of one bad call are still going to feel our season was a failure?
What if we get Hoculied? On a serious note, I think it would be disappointing but I don't necessarily think it will be a failure. St. Louis is the one that I think we could lose to but I don't expect us too.
I wouldn't be happy but we have to remember this is still a rebuilding team and l the Fins will probably lose games they shouldn't (the Texans for example). My goal is to just sit back and enjoy a season that has already been a huge success.
Beating the crap out of the cheating patty's and the bills made this season a sucess for me no matter what happens from here on out
lol If we get "Hoculied" against one of these **** teams on the rest of our schedule then we deserve it. If we put ourselves in a position where one call or play means the game against a team like SF, Sea or Oak then we already screwed ourselves anyways. I'd still be pissed either way.
I'm with you, after seeing them do well in the division and win some tough games I don't think it's unrealistic to expect 9 to 10 wins with what's left. Tomorrow can't get here soon enough.
Meh... I will take the .500 with the great wins against Buffelo and The mighty Cheatriots...only IF we spank the JESTS thoroughly. Still alot of Football to play, and anything can and probably will happen. Wouldnt completely surprise me IF we catch a couple of breaks, the team stays focued and we make the playoffs, but as I mentioned, .500 with .500 against each team in the div would be nice... OH SCREW THAT. 1 game over .500 with us beating the Jests and Patriots again, and knocking them BOTH out of playoff contention. THAT would be a great season
