I know all the libs on this site will call this thread garbage but I don't care. But my question stands, how long will it take before Obama's approval rating falls below Bush's? When will we start feeling the buyer's remorse if you will?
ummmm, can we wait until he actually is inaugurated before this type of discussion is brought up? At what point of Bush's terms are you trying to compare to anyways? It would be pretty damn hard to be below Bush's present approval rating.
A little early in the game to be asking this. He's not even sworn in yet. Perhaps waiting to see what happens before making any kind of prediction would be prudent.
If this was an honest question, as you claim it to be presented, it should be phrased as "Do you believe Obama's Approval Ratings will be lower than Bush's?" The title inherently gives away the bias of your original question, and in the process reveals what you are seeking from the responses. Ah, revisionist history. You show me a 4 1/2 year span, and I'll sell you a bridge to nowhere.
Welcome to POFO.... All the libs??? Anyone ever get blasted in the Phins forums for trying to predict our final record ...BEFORE the season starts? POFO's tough man....gotta come with something better than this.... ONE star.
We must not be looking at the same thing. He's clearly under 50% in the months leading up to the 2004 election. Being close to 50% isn't the same thing as 50%. Sorry man.
I don't care much about "approval rating," but I sincerely think that Obama could be called a "boom or bust" prospect. And, much like those early picks, some people may jump ship and scream "bust!!!" before really giving him a chance. This is all new for him, and there is a lot of adjustment involved (especially the first 6 months IMO). And with all the "promises" made during his campaign, it could certainly leave a lot to be desired.
go look at the historical. . here ya go: Bush: Job Ratings (2) when the favorable is higher than the unfavorable..that is a favorable approval rating. when there are 6 positve samples with 2 negative ones inside the 6...that is a positive trend. when there are 2 negative samples surrounded by 26 positive ones as this shows...I would say that he has a positive approval rating. so...I was right...as usual.
BTW..Gallup is the gold standard for Approval ratings. they ahve the ;alrgest history. OPinion Research is the best for public figures.
A great comment here, for both supporters and detractors of him. Basically, his supporters see the Boom side of the coin. That hes the second coming, the change and hope we need. The detractors see more the bust side of a relatively inexperienced guy who maybe is out of his league and promising things that he wont deliver. Hopefully he Booms (I say this as a detractor). Our country really doesnt need a second bust in a row right now. I have my doubts about how the next 4 years will go, but I will start off with giving him the benefit of the doubt. He no doubt has a narrow line to tread though with sharks on both side just waiting for a wrong move.
You hit on it right there bro. Too many promises in very trying times. Plus, the whole "anointed one" works great before an election, but adds much more pressure afterwards. There will be a shorter than usual honeymoon period this time around. ADDmerica won't wait long.
Nothing like a bottom feeder labeling everyone "libs". Gotta love the dittoheads getting riled up by THEIR messiah. The guys hasn't even been sworn in and you are already hoping his approval drops below the biggest failure of a President since Nixon, and possibly the worst President in US history?
Nice to see the media thrown in to this. Typical tactic when you have nothing else. Sorry but the media excuse didn't work this time. Yes the media that was so hard on Bush. All those tough questions he had to answer over the years from his bunker. The media that gave Bush a free pass for the past 8 years.
