NFL network is on and a Favre/Pennington graphic came up and Pennington is outplaying him in all the stats they showed which includes passes thrown deep - Favre at 19/Pennington at 23.

Avg Yds was another. There were others but I can't remember...

Also noticed on PTI yesterday, of the three involved in the Favre drama, Pennington has thrown for more yards then either Rodgers of Favre. Man we got the best of that deal IMO.

I have to agree, I was not so excited about CP when we signed him, he has really stepped up and solidified or QB spot.

Not in touchdowns and the teams record. Farve has that advantage.:wink2:

I like what Chad has done for this team. You just can't cut Farve short of his year either.:hi5:

I understand that bro, however when a team sucks, it's the QB's fault, so when a team succeeds he should share in the praise. I know it is a team sport. I was using that as part of the equation in the comparison.:hi5:

There's no doubt we got the best of the Favre/Rodgers/Penny roundabout. Green Bay gave up Favre. New York gave up draft pick AND Pennington. Miami gave up nothing, Pennington was free.

    Thanks Jets!! LOL.

Is Favre's weekly pick 6 contributing to the team's wins?

All I know is, I saw the last Jets game and when their 39 year old qb got up from being knocked down, he looked like more than his 39 years. He got up like he was 60.

I do believe that Miami has the better QB, and if Pennington continues to play like he has, his numbers will be better then Farve all around at the end of the year.:wink2:

See, when we signed him, I TOLD YOU SO, I TOLD YOU SO...

    Didnt the conversation go:

AZ: "John, we just signed Penny"
    FFIC: "Oh great"
AZ: "John, this kid is better than anybody we have by far"

    Oh, wait...... :tongue2:

The Jets got tired of Pennington just like we got tired of Fiedler .When you dont get to the big game you are looking to make changes .

Also the Jets needed to get more fans in the stand to finance their new stadium so from their point of view its understandable .

I like our situation better because Pennington is perfect for us at this stage of our development .

We all know that Favre is a gunslinger and at this stage of his career he is liable to throw more interceptions than TDs .

He is a short term answer for the Jets but he may he may get them into the playoffs and save Manginis job although personally I am of the opinion that they wont get far because of his interceptions

Not to nitpick, but the Jets sell out every game, every year. And with the profit sharing the NFL has, selling jerseys and merchandise doesn't really help the Jets' organization out financially at all.

They sold out to try to win within the next 2 years, which I guess I can understand that point of view. I just don't think (and never thought) that Favre puts them over the top or even close to it. Especially in the preseason when you were staring down at the Pats, San Diego, Indy, etc. Fortunately for them, the AFC pretty much became wide open and they actually have a chance (but no more so than the Miami Dolphins led by no other than Chad Pennington)

I am glad we got Penny, but you can't discount the Favre effect for NYJ though. Without him they wouldn't have won our game, he has always thrown Ints, but the beauty about him and in the same way it was with Dan, that does nothing to shatter his confidence and his determination to win, which is infectious.

IMO all 3 teams did well out of the whole fiasco, and which is why all three have a chance for the playoffs. Which for the Jets and Fins has been a long time coming, even longer for us :(

IMO anything short of a Superbowl win and the Jets got the worst of the deal. Basically all three teams have good QBs but the Jets only have theirs for 1 year (probably) or 2 years (max). The Jets also gave up draft picks and the most money. The Pack also got a draft pick but took a PR hit. The Dolphins suffered no downside. Their QB could be here 3 or 4 years and is playing the best of the lot thus far this year.
