Dolphins Like Where They Are At The Midway Point; Team Introduces Final Four Mini-Plan; Other Notes - NEWS: Top Story Presented by WACHOVIA - MiamiDolphins.com It has been said that teams (players, maybe) divide their season up into four game quads focusing one game at a time. If you follow this logic we're after the second of four. We're at .500. A lot of people will say that this means nothing. That we're not good or bad that we're just there. I would disagree. It seems to me in the games we win that whatever side of the ball isn't stepping up the other will take control and win it for us. There was one game (jets) where the ball didn't bounce or way and that's not an excuse. If we had executed here or there we would have won that game. The AZ game is the only game I felt we didn't have a chance in. The Ravens game wasn't as bad as it looked IMO. Penny threw a bad INT but I'm not one to blame the QB/OLine/Offense. Football is a team effort. I still thought we had a chance towards the end of that game. My point is in the games we've won we're more in it than being blown out in the games we've lost. Most games have been close contentions on both sides of the ball and I believe we're playing above .500.
We have won three games kneeling on the fround at the end of the game..for a pretty young we are learning and finishing games quite nicely
anlgp.. dang bro, you need to tell me what that means..all I can think of now is what I just read in the spam thread... even helped me remember the initials.. I agree.. I think we were in all the games but the one in Arizona. The best part of that is we nearly earned a victory in them. I am confident that those sort of games will soon fall "our" way. We "almost" won a bunch of games last year, but not once could I come away with anything positive. Not this year.. excepting the dang Arizona game, I came away feeling we had fought plenty hard enough to win, only to fail on a couple key plays. I have felt the determination.. the powerful desire to win, has finally arrived in Miami. Our Coach has a plan, and when we execute it, we win. Ya know, it's not that big a deal that "we" are .500, what IS a big deal, IMO, is how we got there. We didn't "luck" into our victories, we earned them, and some.. well, we dominated the fourth quarter drives.. I have trouble recalling the last time we finished out like that.. I am proud and pleased, something our divisional rivals aren't. To once again be relevant, and to know our division wants no part of us is sweet sweet sweet. I keep thinking.. if we can compete toe to toe now, right now, when we are low in the talent pool, what will we look like an a couple years when Jeff and Tuna aquires better talent.. I fairly quiver in anticipation.
One thing for certain, I don't think the Pats, Jests, Jills, Raiders, Seahawks or any other team we will be playing are taking us too lightly any longer...I'm certain about the division teams and pretty certain about the other teams we have yet to play that they'll be looking a little harder at film and thinking a little harder when preparing for us...this week it's the Seahawks...another team we should beat but we still have to go out there and do it... That's where this team has been different than the past 7 years of Fins teams...they have gone out and done what has to be done to win. And even when we lose (save for the Cards game), each and every player has known that we could have beaten that team if they'd have done this or that differently...we haven't been beaten because we weren't prepared, didn't know what was going on, etc...
the other key id say is our schedule gets easier... First Half: Jets Arizona New England San Diego Houston Baltimore Buffalo Denver Second Half: Seattle Oakland New England St. Louis Buffalo San Fransisco Kansas City Jets gimme that 2nd half schedule all day... it is not unrealistic to say we could go 5-3 over those last 8 games... that would put us at 9-7 and potentially playoffs... i personally think we can do better than 5-3 over these last games... im excited to see how the rest of the season plays out!
