Meyer's recruiting tactics are something to question.

    You said:
This attributes UF's winning to their offense which the SEC didn't know what to do with. I'll wait to reply to that specifically as it relates to another point:
From year 2 to year 3 his spread increased it's yards per game from 396 ypg to 462. The offense that the SEC caught up to also found a way to increase it's points per game from 29.71 to 43.08.
There is absolutely no objective reason to claim that the SEC has caught up to his "spread". Therefore, bologna.
Attributing last years championship to an offense that the SEC hadn't caught up to yet, is also bologna as it wasn't nearly as effective as the '07 version. The difference between the two teams was simple. DEFENSE.

    You said:
Attributing all four losses to a deficency in Tebow's passing game under pressure is bologna. I already gave the details. It was far and away the fault of the defense.

    You said:
    bologna
UF had the top ranked recruiting class last year.
I am curious about this last paragraph and would like to know more. I know he has shown no use for guys at are unwilling to abide by his rules and work at the level he expects. I would like to know the details you are privy to though.

No, not whatever. He hit his WR with the ball cleanly. It should have been caught. I was absolutely not tipped. I watched it live, on replay, on slow replay. I TIVO'd the game as I do all the games, and watched it later, as I do most of the games. I watched that play more than anyone just watching it on live TV. You are mistaken. Wether he should have made the throw or not is moot. He delivered the throw right where it needed to be. Ingram either wasn't paying attention or was too worried about getting hit. Either way, not on Tebow.

He was 20 of 27 with 7.4 yards per attempt What are you banging on? That's a 141.41 QB efficiency rating, or a 91.74 NFL QB rating.
BTW, put pressure on Tom Brady and he folds like a house of cards, just ask JT. Yet he's the greatest QB of all time now :001_rolleyes:

huh? Every year? Are you confusing Meyer's UF teams with Zook's?
Again, Tebow spent the entire day on his *** against Ga and UM. Please tell me which Hall of Fame QB's "are the same" when this happens? I'm trying hard to avoid the sarcasim here, but it's hard when you take a "Football 101" issue and make it out to be about one guy.

I won't go over what seems to be a slight to Tebow since you covered it with Motion
I think the fans who mistreated Leak were low class idiots, but I also know most were not that way. I go to a lot of games every year. Most of the stuff had to do with being typical fans who were dying to see the 235 lbs. of walking adrenaline run the offense he was born to run. This was in addition to seeing the painful square peg round hole with Leak and that offense. Great kid though. Went through three OC's in four years, and never *****ed about it. He's a Gator Legend in my book.

FW...Good point on Thomas.......I was focused on the recruiting not the punishment...very good point for me to take in.....

Good point also on the graduation rates...i am sure that did effect the 4 year average...they still have very good graqduation rates...but point taken and again...very good point!!

The Zook stuff was not mine, it was cut and paste opinion from an AP writer...personally I liked Zook and the way he handled himself in recruiting. I was never a fan of his game management and it was probably time for him to go IMHO due to his relationship with boosters.

Coker was a cluster %^&* from the word go, he tore down the program...again like I was saying to those that chose to read my post...the signs are there that Urban Meyer is traveling the same path..Coker was blackballed from SFLA basically, and chose stud skill position players while ignoring the defense and position players...he was also over his head as a talent evaluator......Barrow has done as much for the U as Shannon although Shannon is the face...

As for your last point..you are probably correct, but let me tell you why...I have interacted with Meyer and seen him personally disparage a quality human that gave his soul to UF...and he is a friend of mine..a guy that allowed me to be a ball boy at the Citrus bowl on multiple occassions. I also as stated earlier have HS coach friends in SFLA and they are turning south on Doc and Meyer and said that others are also...and i trust them without question.

Great reply, gives me some things to think on, and I appreciate the manner of presentation ..... you are now up there with Motion on the Gator buddy list....hope you guys let me back into Gator Nation when Suburban leaves town.......

I never said anything remotely close to this.

Lets not starting putting words in other people's mouth.

:huh1: What does all this have to do with Meyer? He wasn't responsible for even half these guys. I'm well aware of legal issues with some players. Again, what major program doesn't have these kinds of issues??

Motion..I was being fair...I said Meyer did not have anything to do with these, see my original post........

Also if you are going to support the program at least acknowledge the issues are there,,,they have had 12 guys arrested....granted a couple are real BS...just like Robert Marve being arrested for tearing a rear view mirror off a car...it is what it is...they happened....

Rechecked...I'll go with bologna on point 1..seems I was mistaken...talking out my arse:)

Point 2 defense...that is my point he has ignored defense just like Coker did...same path....

point 3 : I do not think Tebow was near as effective in the three losses, teams pressured him and made him throw underneath..

Point 4: UF had a very good class last year but loaded up on skill players again that pushed the ranking...also depends on what service you site...some use total points, some use average, but UF had like 27/28 recruits last year using some on EE's from 06 scholly's. Also this year looks very average...I do not think Meyer is a great recruiter or evaluator..IMHO...but OK we will go with total points and give them the top class...bologna is OK :)

Point 5: That ball hit someone in the head...........and was thrown into a lot of bodies...who's fault is it for doing that......Leaks? Also you make my point Tebow when pressured is any other QB...just like TTom Brady when pressured...that is how you beat the UF offense IMHO...now getting it done it is something else entirely. Teams will do it more consistently if you do not have top notch linemen (Recruits), and you do not convert many WR/QB's to OL..........

I M'd you my personal story...please do not share with others...........

Love the banter.....CF is still the best!!!!!!!

hmmm beginning to sound like a plan.
I MAY have tickets for that UT game anyway. Friends with a Bull Gator that doesn't do much traveling. Just need to bribe him with my homemade tomato sauce and cheesecake.

    :glare: Gainesville bud

Something there will work out, but I fear the Gators season may not.
I just realized how rough that schedule is going to be. Hope your Canes stink again ;)

I think it'd be wrong to believe that Meyer is the only one using these tactics. Doesnt mean I dont hate him for it, though I only care because he keeps using them to steal ND recruits. But PSU, Zook etc have all been exposed for negative recruiting against ND and I'm pretty sure Nd has used them against Zook in the Benn fiasco. It's a part of the process unfortunately, Meyer just lies better than some of the other recruiters apparently ;)

Not trying to rub it in, because I would be pissed about losing them too, but Justin Trattou looks outstanding. He might be my favorite freshman from this year.
I only bring him up because every time I see him I think of you and my ND buddy, and try not to let the guilt sour my smile ;)

Well you have to give Meyer credit, at least he's stealing good players. I've only seen Trattou a few times, but I'm glad he's doing well.

Reports from the All American game are that Hunter is dominating, so I'm sure he'll turn out to be a good one for you too. Hopefully he's the only one Nd loses, in which case I'll be happy. Especially if ND can add Deion Walker and Gerell Robinson.

Why do you gator fans make it seem like I attack the Gators or just don't like them? I could careless that we got walloped by the Gators. I ran into this and thought it was interesting.

Every program has its problem players. If I recall the Gators have quite a few.

Now please stop making it seem like a Gator-Buckeye conflict.

FYI from a Meat Chicken recruit...all the things that used to be kept quiet are coming out...don't believe me , I know you do not Gator fans but it is coming out and kids will start to understand it all......

On the Darryl Stonum front. He arrived in Ann Arbor last night and is now in classes. Sometime today he will meet with new receivers coach Tony Dews. He officially followed through on his commitment despite the staff transition and the replacement of Erik Campbell at receivers coach without a hitch, right? Not quite. The blitzkrieg was on as soon as Rodriguez was named headman in Ann Arbor. As Stonum revealed in the video interview, numerous suitors were telling him he’d never fit into the new offense. He even gave a cursory look at Arizona State and Cal.

However, one school's persistence trumped all others and they were definitely the biggest threat to the Maize & Blue. The University of Florida stayed on the four star pass-catcher well all the way through. Things crescendoed recently after a conversation with Urban Meyer. According to Stonum, Meyer had a compelling reason why he should become a Gator. “He told me that he talked to Coach Carr and Coach Soup and that they told him that I would be a much better fit in the Florida offense than I would be in the one at Michigan,” Stonum recalled. “I thought, ‘wow, my coaches are selling me out.’ I confronted them about it. I asked Coach Carr and Coach Soup about it and they said they never talked to that guy and that there was no way they ever said anything like that and that they think I should be a Wolverine. I believed them. Right then, I knew just how Florida rolled.”
