He was in that range by then, absolutely. Again, I have to point out, Glenn Dorsey was always considered in the top 5 and at one point NFL Draft Scout had him above Dorsey way before the Senior Bowl, simply because Dorsey was nicked up a bit. Ellis was always in that top 10-15 range. I'm positive of that.
I certain that was after the Senior Bowl week when he lit it up. And I still swear Ellis was a little lower than you remember. Once again, I think we're getting close bewteen us as to what happened. I think Hood's has that ability to climb up there. Also, like I said if some of those juniors declare it will push him down - Senderick Marks is one, and Grnager being another - so we'll see.
Evander Hood is a major sleeper for Round 1. I think he is more of a Round 2 Pick. But there is no question that there are not too many good Nose Tackles in the draft. Sen'Derrick Marks, Demarcus Granger, Evander Hood, and Terrence Taylor are the ones I like. Fili Moala is a product of playing at USC. BJ Raji is another interesting prospect.
Bottom Line the prospects the Dolphins should watch closely.. George Selvie Brian Orakpo Demarcus Granger Vontae Davis Malcolm Jenkins William Moore Evander Hood Terrence Taylor Darius Butler.. 1-George Selvie 2A-Demarcus Granger 2B-Darius Butler 3-Juaquin Iglesias That is what I want for April.
My first child whose name will be Daniel Marino Miller is suppossed to be born on that day. I might need updates to my Blackberry. ahahah
He was already a top prospect by the time he lit up the Senior Bowl. Of this I'm Certain with a capital C.
Looks as though I am wrong. Hey better to be wrong and correct it than being an idiot with out the right info. Thanks.
LOL. Who are getting these top honors this year, though? Seems much more muddled. Evander Hood, Demarcus Granger, Sen'Derrick Marks, Terrance Cody, Terrance Taylor, Peria Jerry... There's a good chance one of those guys will be suiting up as a Fin next year...even if they don't view the guy as a NT. When a front office shows that they love those DE/DT types dearly...never underestimate their desire to keep drafting them.
I'm not don't worry about that. I have a feeling we will address this situation early in the draft. I am beginning to wonder if we will look to grab a C in the middle rounds given how Satele has struggled this year.
I don't know about the first round but I have had my eye on C.J. Wilson seems like forever and I really do think he could be a difference maker.
Man... so disappointing that Satele, looking like a lock for the next ten years at center, is now raising questions. Well, at least Jake has played well.
I think it might be overblown, with Satele. He's played well at times this year, struggled at other times. He's still coming into his own.
On the mid-round center issue, anyone taken a look at University of Louisville C, Eric Wood. He is a 4 year starter, been on the Big East all conference team a couple of times, and has the head of a football player that PB & Co. would like. This year he severely sprained his ankle and his play has slipped a bit. Still if we are look for a Day 2 center, he may very well be a good candidate.
Do you think it might be a matter of position? Would they look to move him to G and draft a C? And what is the status of Carey? Isnt he a FA after this season? I havent heard of us trying to get a new contract in place. Granted theres plenty of time, but still. If we dont pick him up again wed have to look at the RT spot wouldnt we? And I hate to say it, but what if this season doesnt go well, or maybe a few other "bottom" teams up their games and pass us leaving us drafting around 8th. I know BP isnt a reciever or CB guy, but hed have to think hard about passing over Crabtree/Macklin or Jenkins/Davis wouldnt he? Is any DT standing out right now that would def. be top 10 material?
