Chad's had 3 straight games of a passer rating of 100+, and now he sucks and he's no good? There is plenty of game left. I don't see this team folding. We were down 20-7 at one point against the NY Jets (yes different defense), but it's something to lean on. I think we need to start running right at the Ravens defense and continue to move the ball like we have been. We just need to score TDs instead of FGs. We need to make plays on defense when we have the chance. We've basically had 2 TOs negated by a bonehead play and another by a guy not making a play any #1 CB/DB is expected t omake in this league.
The one thing we should keep in mind, without Chad's giftwrapped pick 6... were really only looking at a 10-6 game. Not that it really matters, our Defense has looked pretty awful against the pass yet again today. That NEEDS to improve. Offensively, theres been some pretty odd calls out there. Pennington has had time to throw the ball, he's just not looked himself today for whatever reason. 17-6 at halftime... its definitely not over. The bad news, Baltimore does get the ball to start the half... So the D needs to come out and shut them down to start the second half. Also... RONNIE NEEDS THE BALL!! Although, we havent been able to run very well either... 10 carries for 16 for ronnie, 3 for 14 for ricky... thats nothing to write home about.
So much negativity in here. You guys realize that twice we've driven the ball well into a very strong defense's redzone and we've gift wrapped 10 points for them. We are not looking as grim as some of the posts in here. We're coming back. They didn't do a thing to change the momentum of the game. We've done it all for them. We are coming back. Bet on it.
In one half. 1.5 to 10 per half. That isn't that good. I think they said Baltimore only got 3 first downs in the first half against a 'porous' defense of Indy. If Indy is porous, we're the damn grand canyon.

Chad throwing the ball to everyone and everything but the Dolphins receivers is a sign that he is not playing well and going up against this defense being 11 down, it doesn't look good. I thought the QB sneak was a decent call. We got 5 yards on it, the middle was open. I'm sure we were hoping we could get 7-8 on it, to make it shorter, but it was a play to make 3rd down manageable. It didn't happen. The 3rd and 11 was an audible by Chad and Sparano was clearly ticked that he didn't run the play. I will say that if Ronnie makes a cut to the right, there was quite a bit of lane to make some yardage. Do we get the TD/first down? I dunno. I agree I'd like to throw a pass there and see what happens. I think Chad looks clearly rattled. We need to make some plays to get him back into the game.
To those who think that only being down 11 points to Baltimore is no big deal, consider this. They are number one against the pass...and number one against the run. Needless to say, Miami is going to need to go DEEP into their bag of tricks to even have a shot of pulling this off. I wouldn't be surprised to see Henne get some garbage time today.
The team doesn't look great, but it's 3 plays away from being a game in which we have a clear advantage (missed Fasano TD, offsides on a fumble recovery, and missed INT). That's a 14 point swing there. If we can make the plays this half, we have a good shot. With a young QB for the Ravens, anything could happen.
If you look at the game stats so far... everything is identical almost. The big difference... its the pick 6 at this point. Hopefully Sparano lit these guys up at halftime. Defense needs to come out big to start here to keep us in this thing.
Just remember who said it first. And it isn't a positive "Go Phins" type thing. If I thought we weren't playing tough, I'd be just as negative & bitter as most. But THEY are not beating us, WE are beating us. And I'll take that over last year where never, EVER did you think Miami was playing tough football no matter how close the score was.

Ferguson being out really hurts our Run D... its quite obviously now just how valuable he is to us. At least we stuck them on that last run
