Check out Gary Moore's new album- Bad For You Baby Very good stuff FFIC, you will like this, SRV like.
Thanks Greg. One of my favorite guitar players. I would pick it up, but no job, so sometime down the line I will get it. Thanks for the heads up though. This one has a little of bit everything for Blues fans. It has a little pep to it, some slow and in between. Gary Moore is one of the best guitar players out there. If you have never heard of him, check his stuff out on you tube. It seems lately that I have given 5 star ratings out, but I really enjoyed the new Tesla, and this one without a doubt is a 5 star cd. The cd is "Bad For You Baby" If you have a few extra dollars in your pocket, pick it up, or give it a listen on Amazon first.
I have listened to this now three times, and it gets better every time I listen to it. It is 9.99 on Itunes, just a heads up so you can save some money.
Hmm I'm not a fan of the whole symphony blues, basically trumpets and such, but this guy has some soul for sure.......
I have been getting more and more into Blues and can't believe it's escaped me this long. I've always known of the influence Blues had on some of my favorite early Rock bands but still it didn't click. It wasn't until The White Stripes that I finally started to find my way over (and yes I know The White Stripes aren't Blues but they do borrow heavily). So the thing I want to ask you Blues guys is can you tell me about some great Blues music and musicians. You can PM or tell me here but I trust you guys will steer me in the right direction. BTW the music in this thread is SUPERB.
muddy waters is my favorite. Any chicago type of blues is always good I think as well........ Alot of people like robert johnson so he might be something you may want to check out. Keep in mind though that I am more old school blues then new.
stevie ray vaughn is also a bad *** and his bro jimmy vaughn is awesome too. One of my faves that is modern is otis taylor.
Lucky he can hang with the best of them. He played in Thin Lizzy way back when. Check his stuff out. Great guitar player. YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
kool I'll check it out. I'm not dissing gary bro, just saying I'm not a huge fan of the orchestras and such in the background, though I did like the song you posted. Otis taylor is a talented guy and creative. He seems to like to put different sounds into the blues, spanish guitar for instance.
No orchestra on this. Some banjo, keyboards and harp, and some backing vocals but that is it bro. No offense taking either.

Yeah FFIC guided me to Stevie Ray Vaughn before. However I am still taking notes and keep the good stuff coming guys.
Thanks for the kind words bro. My dad raised me on music rock, motown and others. If you guys want to watch a great dvd besides SRV Live in Montreux 1982 and 1985, here is a great one by Gary Moore. I have it. I am bumping Brother Greg's thread in case others didn't see it. He started out as a rocker for sure, but has really settled in with the blues for his last several recordings. Very good guitar player who has a awesome DVD out if you want to see it.
