However, if they decided to go with the early more clean cut looking Thor I can see Pitt pulling it off as long as he does the training to bulk up...

I really don't think the height thing is an issue for these movies guys. Remember, these are big budget Hollywood movies where even the smallest of people can be made out to look huge. Someone like DiCaprio is a fantastic actor (and I agree with Don, you need to get great ACTORS and change their look as opposed to people who fit the look but can't act, ala HHH).

Remember, Ed Norton and Robert Downey Jr. aren't exactly the tallest guys in the world eithe rand they pulled off their roles. Capt. America and Thors are really no different imo. Brad Pitt circa fight club was in amazing shape. Granted he is closer to 50 now, but the guy can probably easily get himself bigger for a role like that and with the help of costume design and visual effects, he can be made to look even bigger.

I'm pretty sure Pitt could pull off being thor, not sure about DiCaprio as cap though as i cant think of a movie hes done that he had to pack on a ton of muscle and don't know if he can do it.

I would actually rather have pitt as cap no that i think about it. I think he looks more like him(especially if he gets an army cut) than DiCaprio and would fit the role a lot better. Not sure who could be Thor though, i'm against HHH as i can't imagine him acting as a noble god (just make a mental picture of Hthreatening to smite someone, not gonna happen).

Why is HHH a consideration? Because he has muscles and long blond hair? There are plenty of muscle-bound blond ACTORS who can grow their hair.

I really don't see Pitt as CA, mostly due to the age. I also wonder if this sort of reverse-type casting. He's been in so many roles and to have him come off as iconic this late in his career doesn't seem right.

I think that they need to go with a younger actor. The guy whose picture I posted earlier looks exactly like him.

Triple H is a HORRIBLE IDEA!! LOL!! I can't think of anyone I'd hate more then that...

Pitt might pull off Cap but Thor no way! Thor needs to be a big guy, just not a cheesey wrestler...

Thor emotes far more than HHH's simple "Grrrrrr."

It's not enough to look the part.

I hope so. In the back of my mind I'm afraid that someone's going to grossly misinterpret what I write or post propaganda against my ethnicity.

They just need to do what they've done in the past for Cap and Thor, unknowns ala Hugh Jackman...

Yeah... If that happens then Brad Pitt can take the part of the Black Panther. :tongue_smilie: Just doesn't fit.

some said the same thing about Nick Fury.

Still having a black all american world war II hero doesn't actually fit.

I still do actually. I dont like that they flip flop with him. If he's black he's black if he's white he's white. It shouldn't change at the artist or writers discretion. IMO, things like that insult the original creator of that character.

I do not agree with that. I only agree with that if he being black or white has something that is really important to the character. Generally speaking being black in comic books have a HUGE part of the person's character which is why having them be white really changes a lot.

Changing Nick Fury from white to Samuel L. Jackson actually, imo, added a lot to the character rather than taking away. The Nick Fury of the Ultimate universe is an amazing character and I am sure the original creator would enjoy that version of his character

You have to understand, it was a different universe all together. Characters tend to get changed when you make a different version of that character for a whole different universe. Nick Fury is not even the first example of a white character being changed to a black character.

I do understand. Trust me. But I am old school, and I am an adult male who spent a good portion of his prepubescent life wrapped in comic books. The movies that have done well, IMO, are the ones that focused on the original ideas and general practices of the character. Its not just a "color" issue as much as it is a character issue.

Thing is, all of the movies have used the Ultimate line as their basis, per Marvel's own statements. That's what the line was created for: to adapt characters with 40+ years of backstory into the modern era and make them much more easily transferable to the big screen. Elements of the classic comics are mixed in where they fit, but for the most part the Marvel movies are based on the Ultimate character versions.

For example, the Iron Man movie: that particular Tony Stark is a direct translation of his Ultimate incarnation, with the money-pit spending, womanizing, and wacky billionaire behavior coming right out of the pages of the Ultimates. (Classic Tony Stark is far more tame, especially in current story arcs.) However, they Iron Man armor design used in the movie is taken straight out of the pages of the classic universe; they didn't adapt the Ultimate armor design. The presentation of Obadiah Stane is more in line with his Ultimate version than his classic version, but Pepper is right out of the classic universe.

Apparently in the Ultimate line, Nick Fury wasn't a WW2 hero. He was in the armed forces in WW2, but we're not exactly talking the Howling Commandos here.

I don't have a problem with Samuel L. Fury and I don't see why anyone else would.

A side kick in a comic book movie is a serious role?

I would say its definitely more of a fun action movie with a lot of comedy than a serious movie. Cheadle has had a lot of serious roles, this aint one.
