At this point he is what he is. McD found success with him in a system that suited him and paired his limited strengths with immense talent and speed on O, but once the league caught up to that system and defenses came up with plans to stop it Tua is just so limited in what he can do as a QB he's easy to defend and exploit. We've already seen the max potential and there's just nothing left to get out of this guy. His leadership is non-existent as well. It's time to find a way to part ways with both him and Grier ASAP.

Once Tua got paid he changed. He got some tattoos, earrings and forgot about football.

It's not that. It's that he was never that good to begin with and the league has figured out Tua and the system Mcdaniel tailor made for him.

Hard fought close loss? Nope, blow-out, embarrassing loss. Tua needs to see the bench now. This game is over.

In an alternate timeline where Tua doesn't have that catastrophic hip injury he might be a dominant NFL player. Or maybe not, but who knows. Regardless, taking a QB off an injury like that was an insane decision. Agree that we need to try someone else here, either Ewars or Wilson. Both to see if we actually have something in either, and to see if maybe McDaniel can salvage his career. Doubtful, but may as well give it the chance. It's not like Weaver is a guy we have to take a look at.

I recall there was a poster here right after Tyreek got injured that said there is clear evidence that Tua has been a better qb without Tyreek Hill ..

Tua should have been a low second or third round pick at best after that hip injury

I'm done. Fk This! I'm an Eagles and Steelers fan for the rest of the season.
I do have a question tho...How did Ewers look? I turned it off after Tua's pick on his own 1 yard line.

I won't judge Ewers on anything from today, he came into a situation where you can't win. Had some problems had at least one nice throw I saw.

I mean, what the hell, just run him at starter the rest of the year, nothing to lose

This was a horrible showing by the Dolphins. Horrible on offense, horrible on defense, horrible on special teams, horrible on the coaching staff.

The offense was bland and lackluster (Achane the only bright spot)

The defense continues to shoot themselves in the foot with critical penalties extending opponents drives resulting in scores

Special teams fumbling themselves ball and giving the Browns excellent field position resulting in another touchdown

The coaching staff, lacking any fire or motivation to the team.

Every Dolphins player should forfeit their game day paycheck. They certainly didn’t earn it today

Ewers is not the answer. His ceiling is as a serviceable backup in the league. We are better off giving Wilson a shot to sink or swim.

Anyone want to admit they were wrong on Tua AND also wrong on his terrible contract?

Or have we officially shifted to, this is all McDaniel's fault and Tua is going to be great after he leaves the Dolphins?

I agree, Ewers is not the answer by any stretch. We have to go back to the drawing board, and whoever we replace him with needs to have the measurables to at least stand in the pocket, make strong throws, and create with their legs because this offensive line is never going to be good. EVER. In order to combat that, you need a mobile quarterback who can get the ball down the field. In my opinion it's never to early to talk prospects. From what I have seen Dante Moore and John Mateer are the two guys that stick out the most to me in terms of talent. Moore is probably going top 3, I think Mateer you can get in rounds 2/3. Either way, our future quarterback is currently not on this roster.

That was possibly the worst performance by a dolphins qb in team history.. i dont ever recall John Beck having that kind of **** game..

And as i said in the first page before all the chaos started, this is football weather, wind, rain, snow, hot as **** sun, all the elements are part of the game. If you cant handle the conditions, go to the arena football league if they still exist.

we are stuck with that contract one more season after this. Good lord..

I said it after week 1, if we are in position where we are completely out of contention, then we need to have a firesale.

We are at that point now. Highly doubt we will be able to get rid of everything, but these list of players need to be on the block to get interest:

    chubb
    Phillips
    Minkah
Waddle - for a conditional pick that can turn into a first im good with

Should have listened to myself in 2021 about Tua. I was at the Bills game when he broke his ribs and remember thinking that this guy doesn't belong on an NFL playing field. He is small in stature and in brain power. He is physically overmatched. He cannot take hits. He cannot perform on the road against quality opponents, cannot throw in the rain, cold, snow or with windy conditions. I was probably considered the biggest Tua hater on the forums. Resnor can attest to my vitriol because we debated Tannehill for 5 years :D

That is the QB that I saw. I was SHOCKED they picked Tua over Flores. SHOCKED.

I had my doubts but 2022 with McD had me a believer. A big believer. So much of a believer that I threatened to boycott the team if they didn't reward Tua with a big contract.

Well - It looks like I should have trusted my gut in 2021 - And that I was wrong about the contact. Please accept my apologies.

By the way, this isn't just Tua. The FO, mainly Ross and Grier, crushed his development and set him up for failure. This is a soft spoken guy that had no control of the locker and was forced to start, not by Flores, but by the team when we had a real legitimite shot to sneak in to the playoffs after a full tank.

Miami could have had real momentum and that culture everyone seems to care about lately.. This is something I will NEVER forgive the franchise for. I don't care if there isn't direct evidence, the team was rolling with Fitz and he played his ****ing heart out.. This is how the Tua era started. And it's going to end the same way. In a big fukking mess.

If I am being fair, Tua did show flashes of being a very good QB. Accurate, quick, great deep ball.. Let's not kid ourselves, he exceeded my and many doubters wildest dreams. The dude is now a shell of that. He is worse than he was under Flores as a wide eyed kid. He's just a grumpy man now.

Some of us who actually watch college football not just the highlights on sportscenter and one half of a championship game against Georgia, told yall he was ***…

the only qb i liked that high in the draft was Burrow.. and he is injury prone himself.. and then there is Herbert who i definitely did not like because he reminded me too much of Eli Manning/Tannehill watching Oregon play almost every time they did.. but his combine and pro day was so good that i just said, if we have to draft one, then i guess id be okay with him because his measurables were through the roof.

Tua had 4 receivers that were drafted in the first round, one of them a heisman, his running backs josh jacobs and najee harris.. and a couple offensive linemen that were first round picks.. was never asked to make a difficult throw, it was wide open all the damn time..

Tua was Cleo Lemon level bad out there. Like FKING AWFUL! This was it for me as far as supporting him goes. That $hit was already starting to wane after he laid an egg in the playoffs against KC two years ago. Yeah, yeah, it was cold, but he was downright terrible in that game when we needed him the most. Last season was crazy because this dude had games where he was playing like an MVP-level QB...Until we played the better teams of the league. Tua has constantly let us down against the better teams of the league when we've needed a win. He can't stay healthy, and now he's getting destroyed by teams he should be owning. It's over, and I'm done with this. I swear to god Dante Moore, Mendoza, Mateer...They better be on our draft radar like right now. Sellers, Nussmeier...Yeah...This isn't an Andrew Luck draft, but you have to do something, and if that means drafting a guy higher than he should go, then so be it. Knowing Grier (who will still be here will probably take Jeremiah Love instead and try to pair him with Achane...OR...He'll take a quarterback that he thinks has a nice personality and loves puppies over the quarterback that he needs to be taking. I haven't been this frustrated as a fan of this team since the year we signed Daunte Culpepper....So 06, almost twenty years later, and we've been through some $hitty seasons since 06.

Mentally, this team drained me today. I live in TN, so I'm forced to watch the game via Facebook stream. The lady who hosts the game...I appreciate her so much for doing so, but my GOD is she obnoxious to watch the game with. Her screaming and complaining were radiating through my brain as all this was going down. I felt like chewing glass between what Tua was doing and her constant berating of the officials (who can't hear her) on the TV. It was enough to make a person crazy. The sick part is I kept checking back in to see if we were at least moving the ball and trying to come back, but literally every time I checked back in, Tua would throw a pick. You can't make this $hit up. I'm guilty of being an AHole on here to some of you, but we're all fans of this team, and most of us are passionate Dolphin fans. We deserve better than this. We deserve more for our devotion and what we've endured since Marino left 25 years ago.

Im a big believer of best player available in the first round, not need.. and after Arch Manning, there will be a drop off in qb.. if we have a top 5 pick, im making sure Rueben Bain Jr does not leave the city. We are talking the next Micah Parsons.

Hate to say it, but neither Ewers or Wilson are going to give us any hope either. In fact, Wilson actually has the better chance at doing so despite everyone calling for Ewers. I'm even looking at the free agent list for next season and the only affordable names that I like that's going to be available is Sam Howell. He's on the shorter side, but he's got an arm on him and he's not afraid to let it rip. He's a backup in Philly right now. My question is this. Is there any way we can get rid of Tua after this season? Denver took the hit with Wilson and rebounded nicely with Bo Nix. Why...Can't we do the same? I don't get it. People talk as if this situation is immovable with Tua. Denver was locked into Wilson for big money too and got out. I get it...we'll owe him...Whatever...Ross has the money. This is irreversible at this point. From him running his mouth last week, the week before that, the week before that...Hell all season to now is just beyond fixable. We can't do this anymore. I have stood by him and supported him despite doubt in the back of my mind, but it's gotta end with him and Grier. McDaniel I'm on the fence about. I feel like he's limited with this cast. He got more out of Tua then anyone else in the league could have done and that deserves some credit. Call me crazy, but maybe we should stick with him for the rest of the season and then go from there. Knee jerk hiring like Bill Belicheck will get us in the spotlight, but I'm not sure it'll change anything. If you ask me, it's Grier, Tua, and McDaniel as a distant third that need to go.

I have doubts that Tua will get benched for the game against Atlanta (who by the way, has a top rated defense).

Mcdaniels job is tied with Tua, Tua’s contract is all because of Mike Mcdaniels endorsement of him. If Mike has to knock on Ross door and tell him hey i know i told you to pay this guy like he is in the same level as Patrick Mahomes, but he actually sucks so we are going to sit him on the bench despite being accounted for 95 million in cap hit from this season to next, and play Wilson instead or a sixth round rookie.

yeah i dont think thats going to go well.

If mike is looking to get fired to collect all that money owed to him through 2028, then sure.
