We all know Ross has way too much loyalty to people that aren't doing the job. As much as we may see the need for a clean sweep, the odds favor either no change or just a partial change. That said, a humiliating loss to a horrific Cleveland team HAS to shake something loose. Who is the one that most should have a pink slip tomorrow, Grier or McDaniel.

Steve Ross. Nothing matters until he's gone. It won't get better. Just moving around furniture otherwise.

Chris Grier HAS GOT TO GO.

I would love McDaniel gone, I just don't think he's a leader...but I do think his offense and calls are very limited by Tua, and I think he could be more successful with a different QB. Grier consistently is terrible at everything.

So if only one goes, it needs to be Grier.

I get it, but you can't fire the owner.

My point is that nothing else matters. Its not going to get better. Every person he hires is going to fail.

Not so sure that is happening.
Grier was at the south Carolina game yesterday scouting Qbs.

    I don't agree.

The question you need to be asking is, are the dolphins making Ross money? The answer is yes. As long as he's making money, I don't think Ross really cares all that much about winning.

But I certainly don't think billionaires are incapable of hiring winners. I think we need to consider what Ross considers "winning" when it comes to the franchise he bought.

Grier is the one most responsible for the **** show after Ross. If someone is getting fired it should definitely be Grier.

Hopefully even the Tuaons know it's over for Tua.
No new coach is going to want to tie thier reputation to this guy. From his leadership,to his limited physical abilities, to his injury history.

Again I get it, but bad owners can stumble into good things. Since they aren't candidates to be fired, you have to focus on the guys making the calls and hope the bad owner gets lucky (and lord knows we are due). If we only focus on owner, then to be blunt it's time to shut down the fan in us and either take a no-contact break or latch onto a new team.

Ross is 85 years old. I'm 48. I'm confident I can wait him out. I expect the team to suck in 2026 and 2027 already. Looking forward to seeing what can happen when I'm in my 50s.

Disagree, I think he does to want to win, he just doesn't seem to know how to do it. Remember, he is a business guy and probably has used the same formula he uses with the Dolphins in his other ventures but with success. Thus, he tries to apply the same things to the Dolphins but it is failing and he doesn't understand why or know how to fix it so he keeps pressing the same buttons - loyalty to the people who say the right things, find hungry up and comers, don't act in a heavy-handed manner, don't make huge and sweeping changes.

TBH I would be more interested in Wilson and see if he can't be a Darnold or Jones type resurrection candidate. Doubtful, but who knows. Won't really sink Ewars for a dicey performance at the tail of a game we are getting blown out against a very good defense in a week he didn't get starter reps. But I didn't really love the pick either so it's whatever.

McDaniel could always argue if he had an offensive line... Grier has almost a decade of failure there are no excuses

If you are only letting me fire 1 person....then it's ME. FIRE ME for being a dolphins fan all these years no matter how bad they are. My wife asked me today, why do you watch this with as upset as it makes you. Let's go to the pumpkin patch instead...but no, something stupid and scarred inside me wanted to stay and be punished instead of spending time with my girls....fire me!

If I can fire more than 1, then fire is the key word...FIRE SALE THEM ALL

I watched the game in a bit of a delay and you know what? I wasn’t upset one bit. Sure Inhad my head shaking “Jesus H Christ” moments, but I just chuckled at every dolphins misfortune.

Grier is the architect of this team…and the team under the Flores regime…and the team under the Gase regime. When you hire and fire 3 head coaches (and McDaniel is going to get fired) the common denominator in the Dolphins woes has been Grier. He HAS to be the one to go.

Sadly though, until the case with Flores has been resolved, Grier isn’t going anywhere so it is what it is.

McDaniel showed some nuts in his presser. Maybe for the first time ever as a coach of this team. Props to him.

Florio on SNF pre-game talked some about the Phins situation and mentioned both Grier and McDaniel but didn't really sound like he had any specifics on the situation. Just pointed out Ross apparently told both guys they had the season to show anything but he must be frustrated and has fired two coaches mid-season in the past.

I can't find it. I'm sure it's out there somewhere. Don't get me wrong, he didn't yell or show any emotion of any kind. He did speak facts though, and it was without a doubt aimed right at Tua. I feel bad for McDaniel right now because he took this on and the ship is gonna sink with him in it. I like him, I was proud to see him actually step up and call it the way it is. He did it in Mike McDaniel fashion...But he did it.

I'd be more sympathetic if he reportedly wasn't an instrumental figure in extending Tua after 2023. I get that it as a healthy and productive year but the signs were there even then. McDaniel could have gone to Grier and expressed hesitancy and we could have played the Franchise Tag game waiting to see if Tua could replicate, improve and stay healthy. Instead we extended him and none of those 3 things happened. I'm disappointed in what's happening, McDaniel seemed to hit different for me. No idea why, but I had higher hopes and more excitement for him than for guys like Flores or Gase.

He will get a job pretty easily though. He could jump right into coaching in the college ranks (Florida would be interesting, or Penn State) where his persona and demeanor might work with the younger players. Or he can probably get an OC job, work on his concepts and ideas, then get a second chance in a few years.

Speaking of coaches, I know I've heard loose speculation about John Harbaugh maybe looking at new scenery, but what about a guy on the opposite coast who might also be in a spot with a declining team looking for a change of pace. Kyle Shannahan? Either would admittedly be super unlikely, but something to keep an eye on.

Can we fire them both when Publix has it's FOFO football Sunday sale?

I'd rather wait for the FOFO sale. Fire one, fire one free sale.

Fire Grier and let the new GM fire McDaniel and bring in his choice as Head Coach.
