Will the Dolphins putrid defense become the first team to give up more than 17 points to the Browns since Week 13 of last season? Or will the Browns horrible offense be enough to make the Dolphins D look acceptable for one week?

When Cleveland scored 32 points at Denver on December 2 last season, Jameis Winston was the QB, Nick Chubb was at RB,and they're both gone. TE David Njoku caught two TD passes that night, and he's out injured.

With a 90% chance of rain and 20-30 MPH winds, it likely comes down to which team can run the ball better. The Dolphins are on pace to have their worst run defense in team history.

Browns defensive tackle Mason Graham suffered an injury in practice this week that has created some doubt about his ability to play against the Dolphins this weekend.

Graham hurt his knee on Thursday and head coach Kevin Stefanski said it was not a long-term concern, but Graham is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. The first-round pick has started every game this season and has 14 tackles and a half-sack in those appearances.

The Browns definitely will not have tight end David Njoku. He’s been ruled out with a knee injury that he suffered in last Sunday’s loss to the Steelers.

Right tackle Jack Conklin returned to practice on Friday, but remains in the concussion protocol. He’s listed as questionable along with defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. (knee), wide receiver Gage Larvadain (concussion), and defensive end Joe Tryon-Shoyinka (hip).

The NFL trade deadline is in early November, which makes this a prime time for chatter about potential deals.

That chatter tends to include speculation about losing teams moving players in order to pick up draft assets for the future and that group includes the Dolphins this year. Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and running back De’Von Achane are two names that have come up recently, but head coach Mike McDaniel said at a Friday press conference that there’s nothing currently on the fire in Miami.

“For the record, all rumors about Miami Dolphins players are baseless currently,” McDaniel said. “And that’s unfortunate. Personally, not just this year for this team, this time of year bothers me for the sake of the individual player that’s having to answer questions about his long-term journey or where he’s playing questioned on rumors or thoughts of other people.”

There are three more Dolphins games before the deadline and more of what we’ve seen the first six weeks could lead to a different answer about what the plans are for the rest of the season in Miami.

Rookie third-round pick Dillon Gabriel will be making his third start for the Browns at quarterback on Sunday against the Dolphins.

Gabriel has been OK in his two starts, though he arguably doesn’t have much help around him. But as Mike McDaniel put it during his Friday press conference, Miami wants to make sure Gabriel doesn’t get comfortable.

“He looks like he should be in there,” McDaniel said of Gabriel. “I think that’s an important thing to note, is that to look the part of a starting quarterback in the National Football League is extremely difficult — and even more so if you’re a rookie. I think I look at it through the lens of, he shows us what he’s capable of and certainly makes some very accurate throws to windows.

“The team facing him — for us this week — our job is to make him look like a rookie. What does that mean? That means 11 convicted players playing together and making it hard on him. But, don’t get it twisted, just because he’s a rookie doesn’t mean he can’t spin the ball, see the field, and take advantage of opportunities that you give him. So, the main thing to me is don’t allow him to get comfortable and find a new level of success at this level. He’s already shown the ability to distribute the ball and do so accurately, and on schedule, and on time. So, you have to disrupt him early and often.”

In his two starts, Gabriel has completed 56.5 percent of his passes for 411 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He’s also taken eight sacks

All comes down to if we can stop Judkins. That being said, Jerry Jeudy could suddenly have one of those "get right" games against us. I think rookie Harold Fannin will be a pain in the *** too on Sunday. Cleveland has a Super Bowl level defense which is sad because you hate to see that kind of talent go to waste. We're in an era where offense rules, so its pretty cool seeing an old school defense like the one they have keep them in games. As bad as they are, I think they're closer to a playoff team then we are and I think they'll have a nice turnaround next season once their young guys get some experience. If they ever figure out the quarterback position, they'll be postseason bound.
I don't think we beat them. This should be a close game, but I think we're going to get shutdown for most of the game. Tua needs to play mistake free, and that means not throwing it to the other team or taking sacks like the Grinch. So in other words, we need a near perfect, efficient game from him in order to win. That and this hriveled heat lamp hot dog which I now refer to as the Weaver defense needs to actually do more than just dress for the game. It's truly embarrassing watching our defense. It's anxiety inducing watching this offense. It's just a bad time to be a Dolphins fan.

Not intending to be a negative Nancy here, but let’s see how clairvoyant I am…

Tua’s going to throw for about 167 yards on about 17 attempts. The weather is going to severely hinder the passing game.

Achane will run for about 117 yards.

Miami is going to have 8 punts.

The defense is going to give up 200 yards rushing, will allow Cleveland to convert about 70% of 3rd downs and will fail to stop Cleveland on any 4th downs.

Last week, with about a minute and a half left in the second quarter, the Dolphins forced their first punt all season in the first half of any game.

The Browns have punted 20 times in the first half during their first six games of the season.

Something has to give this week, lol. The highly movable object vs the easily stoppable force.

That's the interesting thing about this game. Running the ball and playing defense favors the Browns, but turnovers can change that quick.

Well, looks like first team to 6 points wins.

One predictable thing I've noticed with McDaniel this year is that he calls a balanced game for the most part. 5 Runs, 5 passes so far. Don't know if that's a good or bad thing, but it's been the norm the entire season.

Browns run game, with assistance from some flags, gets them the TD. Feels like a 20-17 Browns win at this point.

The Cleveland Browns have the worst offense in the entire league and they are repeatedly converting 3rd and longs against us. This is absolutely pathetic!

McDaniel is awful at preparing the team for situations, they always seem confused. Like 4th and 6 no timeouts clock running, and McDaniel is dicking around with not sending the kicking team out.

Then his usual idiotic comments at halftime. McDaniel is so awful.

Browns did their best to get Miami back into the game, but were firmly rejected.

Did the NFL make it illegal to throw to Waller?
