Nope. He's just not a first round talent, and I want no part of the Deion headache. I would use it to trade back if possible, but I don't see the value in him to start with. We have way more pressing needs.

Play Tua. If he gets hurt again that might drop our slot next year which will hopefully be a better class anyway. If he stays healthy you can explore a trade or just roll and hope maybe he will be OK. But it's easier to move on next year regardless. Sanders would be a waste.

Maybe if he slips there would be room for a trade back.

Reports emerging that CB Will Johnson has a degenerative knee issue. This dude has had one of the worst offseasons for a major pick. He was being routinely mocked as a top 5 player end of last season and even part way through this season. Then he gets injured, never returns, doesn't participate in any offseason events, struggles to show he is healthy and now may be LESS healthy?

There is no way you can take him at 13.

As far as trading back, I think the best thing would be for a TE to go before our pick. Indy has been rumored to be hot after one of Warren or Loveland, so if one is off the board and another team like the Broncos or Chargers wants the other, they need to trade up. Combined with the Johnson news, I am trying my absolute best to move back as much as possible, even if the value isn't 100% chart value. It just feels like our biggest needs don't match the talent at 13.

Another bonehead Grier special. There was no need to trade up and give up picks for a guard given all the other holes we have. Reminds me of the stupid Eichenberg trade up. There were very good guards/tackles still to be had at 48. This is why Grier sucks. His draft boards and moves are idiotic.

This is him trying to make up for letting Wilkins and Robert Hunt go.

I wouldn’t put it this drastic, but with all our holes on the roster I didn’t like the trade up at all. I like the player though…

He seems like a good prospect, although a bit slow a foot, but he definitely was not worth a trade up and giving up more picks to get him. Again there were similar or better quality guards/tackles available al 48. Stupid move by grier, up there with the eichenberg and leonte caroo trade ups, or giving up a second rounder for freaking Josh Rosen. The man is an incompetent buffoon.

They can give up 75 points a game for all I care. They needed a guard.

There were good guards available at 48, no need for us to trade up and give up valuable picks.

I also think it wasn’t a smart move, with Griers history even more so, but time will tell. If he becomes a top notch guard in the NFL it was worth it, if not, not so much…

There were three guards taken after Jonah. Ratledge was taken at 57 and if Jonah was taken before 48 they would have probably had to have traded up to secure him.

The next two guards were taken in the 80's. Grier also said whether you want to believe him or not a couple of GM's texted him annoyed they took their guy coming up.

They got the guard they wanted and apparently other teams wanted in that area too.

So no, there weren't a million great guards available at 48.

Grier doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt when it comes to drafting in particular offensive line but I can't be too offended at them losing the 98th pick to get the best available guard. Especially with most of worthwhile corners going before they would have picked there anyway.

Nobody would care that they traded up for Eichenberg if he didn't suck ***. If this guy is starting for the next decade then it was the right call.

LOL, yeah Grier probably got some texts from some GM‘s, they probably got one from Grier too! Some Dolphins podcast talked about it? don’t remember wich one exactly. They also brought up the fishy thing with Ramsey and the Salguedo article. GM‘s should be measured on the success they have and Grier definitely underperformed since he’s been here!

Aireontae Ersery, the guy the Texans picked at 48 with the spot we traded them, projects as a guard in the NFL, and he is even bigger and stronger than Savaineah.

We could have stayed put at 48 and picked him, or Anthony Belton, Ratledge, Fairchild, Milum, and we would still have our third round pick to fill one of our many other needs.

I like both picks so far.

Not sure about the trade up… but at the same time Jonah is a full tier above any O-lineman that have come off the board after him.

The position really did fall off a cliff after him.

Might not be a popular decision here but I like the 7th round qb grab. Quinn Ewers could be a worthwhile project.

    Ewers was a no-brainer, IMO.

It's a hell of a lot better than the Skylar pick.

Ewers was mocked in the top 10 in September. Definitely a project worth developing with a 7th round pick.

And both were seventh rounders. Not gonna lie: I'm as big a Tua guy as any on this board - it might be a tie - but this pick honestly gives me a level of comfort going into the season. I hope he not only makes the team, but surprises me by actually providing serious competition for QB1.

Agents are steering UDFAs to teams with roster holes and young competition. I knew we'd have a robust UDFA haul.

Helps that we have had success developing some of them as well, they go not only to opportunity but to places they feel might give them a fair shot and help them succeed.
