A 114,4 RTG is crapping the bed, wonder what you would say/write if Tua had a game like Lamar did yesterday (in the 2nd round of the playoffs that is). Would he have crapped the bed or would it be everybody elses fault? Lol, such dishonesty…
Nothing Tua does changes the fact that Josh Allen steals TDs from his running backs from the 1yd line all the time. It pads his stats.
I don’t think that was your point in that last post of yours, but okay. I just used Tua as an example to show the double standard of some around here, just like others do all the time and no matter the thread or topic…
"What's your point"? Tuanon: Answers question "I don't think that was your point" Peace and love brother! Go Redskins!!!
If Tua had as bad of an INT and fumble that Lamar had you and your ilk would be here crying about how badly Tua played. Lamar had a great 2nd half, too bad the game is 60 min. instead of 30. Overall, Jackson was efficient. He crapped the bed twice, however, and they were back breakers.
So we are tied with the browns for longest team not reaching a conference championship after the Redskins won. And I refuse to say Commanders. The joy of being a fin fan!
Nah, I wouldn’t blame Tua if he’d play like that on the road in the 2nd round of the playoffs, but I know in your mind, I would. Now he (Lamar) was overall efficient, the backpedaling begins, lol!
So...is the argument the Lamar disappeared in a big game? I mean, his TE dropped the 2 point conversion that would have tied the game. Plenty of people have pointed to the Ravens comeback in the 4th quarter as evidence of Tua's greatness while ignoring his trash play for 3 quarters. There have been several games like that. I don't think Lamar played badly yesterday. Nor do I think 7 points off his turnovers was the difference in the game.
Don't expect Tua to ever play in the 2nd rd of playoffs. At least with this team.I fully expect this team is blown up in 2026
Wait! All I heard was how great Tua was against the Packers with his 112 rating and wasn't his fault they lost. Now Jackson crapped the bed with a 114 rating even though Andrew's dropped the ball to tie the game. Not sure I understand. Haha. Hypocrisy at its finest. So which Qb are we going to bash this week guys?
Passer rating has to be taken at face value. We all know it's not great with small sample size, but that doesn't mean you don't use it objectively. Lamar now has 3 very good games by passer rating in his last 4 playoff appearances: 121.8, 132.0 and 114.4. It's clear he's not the same playoff QB as he was earlier in his career. However, his overall playoff rating is still really bad at 84.6, so he's got a lot to prove because of all his previous bad outings (5 of them). He's trending in the right direction. Having said that, this is no different than Tua playing well and losing the game in the sense that it wasn't technically good enough to win. Either of the 2 turnovers (including the fumble) would have been the difference. The press is still all over him for not being able to turn the corner as a playoff QB despite being multi-time MVP. So he's got a narrative to fix, and the only way to do that is to actually go deep in the playoffs.
My point is QB rating doesn't tell the entire story. Lamar made some bad plays in this game costing them points and Tuas stats were in 2nd half when they were never in the game.
We all know that, but with large sample size passer rating explains ~40% of the variation in win% in NFL history. Considering that offense is about 50% of the game, that's quite impressive for a simple stat. So it should be taken seriously, but only with large sample size.
I will take Josh Allens 86.7 Qb rating over Jackson's 114 because he didn't turn it over and won the game. All that matters.
If you watch the good running QB's they are just watching for that DE to try to go inside and leave the outside totally open for them. Heck the Ohio State QB did that last night in the game.
I don't think any of them are "running QB's" They are all QB's that have the ability to pick up a first down with their legs. We don't have a QB that should do that.
Not sure why people bang on Goff. He had a 111.8 rating in the regular season. 3-1 TD ratio, I would be happy with that.
Tua is in the wrong conference. I think with the right team he could win a playoff game or two in the NFC. It seems all the really good QBs are in the AFC.Unless Allen gets hurt I don't see us ever winning the east and having home playoff games.
Don’t have much hope as long as Grier is running the show and it might soon change to as long as Ross owns the team…
I don't see Goff being elite as they have amazing talent on that team. I will say though he is one of the better ones in NFC
That stance will force you into a lot of contradictions. You know, like preferring Stafford over Burrow, or saying Allen isn't good enough either since he can't even take that great team of his to the SB. It's a weak argument, and it does nothing to help isolate the contribution of the player.
This is why I don't agree. I will take Joe burrows 4 td game with Qb rating of 108 where they actually should have won the game over Tuas 112 2 Td game they had no shot in because you are not beating many teams with 17pts.So the QB rating is irrelevant in this case. The Qbs job is to put points on the board regardless of how.
Tua got criticized for putting up 27 points in a loss to Buffalo (in Buffalo) with 2 TDs, no INTs and a 124.9 rating. Why doesn't that game show he's good enough?
Not from me. My problem with him is that is not the norm against good teams. I bashed the **** out him in week 2 though which was well deserved!
And he isn't good enough because he can't beat Josh Allen. I said this today he would be better off in the Nfc.
OK well as long as I don't hear from you that Herbert is better I'll accept that point of view (putting up points against good teams consistently so that winning is realistic).
Herbert is a disappointment.Lots of talent but not the It factor. I personally don't see either one of them ever winning anything as long as the big 4 are around.
Sounds good. My only qualifier, and it's a big one, is that it's way too small sample size for both. Flacco and possibly Lamar (we'll see) show how important sample size is for playoffs and big games.
