Hopefully KC sees a chance to eliminate one of their division rivals from the playoffs and goes for it.

KC backups have more to play for/prove than starters with the #1 seed locked up. Seeing KCs backups might not be such a bad thing.

Reid hasn't committed to sitting the starters yet, citing the 23 days in between games it would be from Week 17 to the Divisional round.

There’s a lot for Reid to think about here. If they rest starters, as you said, it will be over 3 weeks of rest for those who sit. And if Denver does get in, and end up upsetting the Bills, I don’t think KC wants to face Denver. Divisional rival games are such a toss up. The Chiefs seem to have the Bills number in the playoffs, and if the Dolphins do the unthinkable and upset the Bills, I think KC would love to play Miami in KC again.

I just want to get into the playoffs. I’ll be rooting hard not only for Miami (feels weird having to write that in a Dolphins forum, but some here will be actively rooting against them) but also rooting hard for KC.

I see no reason why Kansas City shouldn't play the starters for a half, build a two score lead and try to hold on with the backups.

On the other hand, I don't think Tua is playing this week and Vegas currently has the Dolphins a slight 1.5 pt favorite after opening up at 3.5 and I wouldn't be surprised if they are actually underdogs by Sunday.

No matter how much people think Huntley will be a savior, nobody else sees that.

Yeah, in Snoops career, and when he’s played a full game, he has 3 passer ratings over 95. (Including yesterday’s) The other two were in 2021 with the Ravens. He played well yesterday and did really well not making mistakes and scrambling. The Jets are a mess, so that will help, but I think we’d have to be crazy if we expect him to catch lightening in a bottle twice.

Saying that, McD does seem to be able to get a lot out of QB’s (other than Skylar). And remember, with Skylar, and against the Bills in Buffalo and in the postseason, nearly pulled off the win. Snoop may just have a better understanding of the offense now and it will carry over to Sunday.

I don't Reid would or should think too hard about who gets in but yeah I think Miami getting in is best for KC. Cincy easily could beat Buffalo but would be a pretty scary first round opponent for them and Miami is probably a bit more likely to beat Buffalo then Denver while not being so scary for KC.

Denver lost last time against them on a blocked FG at the end. Thinking Chiefs without Mahomes, Jones, and Surtain going to be easier for the Broncos.

Any given Sunday... I feel KC has a legitimate chance to win.
    Surtain plays for the Broncos.

For me, seeing the Dolphins win is the only goal this week. If we don't get in, so be it. I'm happy ending on a three-game winning streak.

If KC wins, then it's a bonus. And hey, I always think about the Giants teams with Eli that started slow, ended with 8 or 9 wins, then got hot in the playoffs. It's a new season and anything's possible. The team that wins 4 games takes the crown. So that excites me, but I'm also realistic that our team is not as complete as last season.

Side note, the conspiracy guys out there that say the league is rigged are expecting KC to win and Miami to lose so Burrow can have an epic comeback season for his 1st Super Bowl. I've been hearing that for a month now, LOL.

Is that your brother again? Harking back to this thread where he predicted based on logos that the SB would be SF vs. Ravens:
    https://thephins.com/threads/super-bowl-logos.98688/#post-3597779

I was right about Lamar Jackson not being up to the task and that the Ravens wouldn't make the SB but that SF was possible. Did you brother ever admit there was no conspiracy on who make the SB last year, i.e., it wasn't rigged?

A buddy of mine bet a parlay on all the scenarios Bengals needed last week and hit big. He called Giant winning big over Indy early in the week and we called him nuts. Script might be in!

It was my brother and a few of his friends; they've found some independent media that supports their line of thinking (IE, crazy people making things up) so they're more convinced than ever. My brother also hit a few parlays last week on everything the Bengals needed to happen...the only tickets he lost on was the Dolphins.

Oh and for last year's conspiracy, my brother believes that because the logo thing became so mainstream, the league decided to go a different route and let Baltimore lose. A red team (KC) did win though so he insists the logo was still ultimately correct.

I disagree with all of that, it's fun to laugh over though.

I'm sure he does too, but do you think HC is going to be running the normal offense or one that will protect his starters? I don't see him going out trying to win this game at the expense of his starters and the rest of the season in a game that does not matter at all to them.

I'm fine with a loss or Chiefs win. We need to rip the bandaid off. The most important thing to this franchise is moving on from Grier, and missing the playoffs adds the most pressure for Ross to make a change. That's all that really matters.

LOL. I love the fan moral superiority complex you guys exhibit.

The fanbase adopted a "Tank for Tua" mindset a few years ago. Your savior. I guess all those people are terrible fans too.

Just because some of you are delusional about this team doesn't mean I need to be. We see things differently. That's fine. Just stop with the charade of fan superiority. It's transparent AF.

It's better for the franchise long term if they don't. Just because you can't see the forest for the trees doesn't make you any better of a fan.

in fact, your type of fan is hurting this organization and preventing actual meaningful helpful change from occurring.

Not even close. Giant fans upset they lost the #1 pick winning a meaningless game at end of the season is understandable. Rooting for your team to lose and miss the playoffs is pathetic. I can't think of another fanbase who wants to miss the playoffs. You think Denver fans are rooting for KC or Bengal fans hoping they miss the playoffs? You're joking right?

First off, the Jets win doesn't even ensure we don't get knocked out.

How do I feel? I feel saddened the fanbase struggles to look at the bigger picture. Not making the playoffs puts more external pressure on Ross to make a change. Whether he makes the change and succumbs to the pressure or not, I have no control. I'm rooting for the outcome I think will help the organization the most. Just like fans who were rooting to lose to draft Tua were.

If Ross doesn't see Grier for the snake he is and doesn't get fired. I'll be very pissed but at least take solace in the fact our draft position is higher even if the picks are selected by a moron. Blind squirrel and all that.

Making the playoffs isn't winning the Super Bowl. Just because you deem the playoffs to be some crapshoot doesn't mean I do. You guys sound like big lottery players. Anything can happen, right?

Correct. I'm not that dumb. I also didn't want to extend Tua. You on the other hand? Maybe some of you should start listening to the people that have been right all along.
