In THIS day and age back up quarterbacks are bad, but not in 70’s and 80’s. Granted, the game didn’t have as much focus on the passing game as today’s game does but the Dolphins had 2 of the greatest back up quarterbacks in Earl Morrell and Don Strock. Teams don’t value backup quarterbacks like they used to…until the “star” they’ve gambled the entire franchise on goes down.
If this team needs to worry about hips and concussion with this guy it’s time to move on. Having a QB that gets treated like glass and missed so much time and is now gonna miss a game with playoffs still a possibility is just ridiculous. I’ve been Tua neutral for years now but this is it if he doesn’t play today. If Grier and McDaniel keep all their eggs in the broken Tua basket next season and fail they are digging their own graves.
Just to be clear you are saying blow it up right? Because I can't see what else you could do other than that.
My point is if he has no mobility he could get a shoulder injury,a knee injury, etc, etc, etc. Not all about the hip. Jeez!
What are you actually arguing, dude? Pump isn't wrong here. The very fact that Tua is listed as doubtful is freaking ridiculous. There have been no hits or anything that should have resulted in being downgraded to doubtful. There were no hits that should have led to an injury. Just face it, Tua is Mr Glass from Unbreakable.
If the Giants can hold on here and beat the Colts…. Does the playoff scenario become; -we win our final two games -Denver loses next week = We are in ? Do have tiebreakers over Bengals and Broncos if we all finish 9-8 ?? I kind of gave up on the playoffs. Haha not sure about all these scenarios.
Yeah that's it. It was the most realistic path from the outset. We win out, Denver loses out, and Colts lose one (hopefully today).
Yes they would be in. Putting your faith in Drew Lock, Tyler Huntley, and Carson Wentz is not something that sounds good for your health.
Fair. But Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Bo Nix and 50 year old Joe Flacco ain’t exactly a wrecking squad either. Haha context. I sincerely believe the Giants have been intentionally tanking for weeks. I fully expect a Suspect fall off from them in the 2nd half here.
Players want to win and I can't imagine the coach feels his job is safe. I wouldn't be shocked if they lose but its just because they suck.
Yep. Now on top of his concussion issues, you have a major hip injury that is keeping him out of a must-win game (again), the same hip he had surgically repaired and why he never should have been drafted so highly to begin with. What a disaster. A disaster that could have been easily avoided. Unfortunately, saddled with one of the worst contracts in the sport. Tua-stans got what they wanted, unfortunately for us, we didn't deserve this. The repair needs to start this offseason with what matters most, firing Grier. I'm sure Ross wants to win, but I think he needs to think past himself, and hope he's setting his kids up for the future. There's no point in playing this string out any further. The salary cap situation is a disaster with Tua now making big money next year, along with everyone else. Offload Tyreek in the offseason, and anything else of value. Keep drafting QBs, and hope to get lucky. Stack picks and salary cap, and hope you are past this mess in 2-3 years, but you need to start NOW.
Losing, when the path to the playoffs is opening up, would be a Dolphin thing. Not that getting there and getting destroyed in Buffalo would be much of a reward.
There it is! Blatant as all can be. they go for it on 4th down on their own 41… while they are ahead by 8 in the second half. Brutal and obvious.
Don has no credibility left. When we drafted Tua he was the one arguing with me and saying that Tua was not injury prone and had no increased risk of reinjuring his surgically repaired hip.
I am exhausted arguing with people. I got mocked for saying Tua won't play today even though it was so obvious.
You’re upsetting some people. It’s funny how some are more than willing, and seemingly happy, to post about Tua being injured and out, but nary a word about the Colts losing.
He called the outcome but not the reason for the outcome. Drew Lock, a guy with a 55.8 rating this year LOL puts up 4 TDs no INTs for a 155.3 rating. LOLOL
