Yeah I saw that and completely forgot to post it. Sorry guys. He's had a good career. Wish him the best in the future. Here's another. Wizards Sign Juan Dixon
Lakers re-sign C Mbenga - NBA - Yahoo! Sports For Lakers, Sun has already risen - Sports Rumors - NBA - Yahoo! Sports Well, I'm glad we re-signed Mbenga and he showed a bit of improvement offensively the way Ronny did. Nice tall shotblocker and rebounder. Sun Yue's got some nice highlight reel plays especially in blocking dunks and layups. I'd be interested to see how his shot is as well as rebounding.
Jason Williams Retires Some unexpected news, new Clippers acquisition Jason Williams has retired after ten seasons in the NBA. Williams averaged 11.4 points and 6.3 assists in his career. Rockets Battier Out For A Month Rockets Foward Shane Battier will miss the next month of action due to inflammation in his left foot. The inflammation in the foot first started when Battier was rehabbing from ankle surgery, in which he got bone spurs removed. Former Edgewater Star Gets Shot With Bulls Former high school superstar Darius Washington will get another shot in the NBA, this time with the Chicago Bulls. He was signed today to the training camp roster and will battle for a roster spot. Knicks, Bulls Talked Gordon For Marbury This past summer, Knicks President Donnie Walsh inquired about Bulls disgruntled Guard Ben Gordon. Walsh offered up Stephon Marbury to the Bulls but talks quickly ended after that. Gordon has been asking for a new contract with the Bulls, approximately $12 million a year. The Bulls have offered $9.9 million a year but Gordon has refused to accept the deal. Gordon could end up signing a one-year tender and becoming an official FA next off-season. Greeks Childress Struggling Olympiakos Josh Childress, who signed a hefty deal this off-season, is struggling to adapt to the Greek playing style. The league is much more physical and many are questioning whether Childress can take the beating. Childress scored 9 and 14 points in his last two games which was a huge disappointment for Olympiakos fans. Lakers Sun Has Monoucleosis Lakers Sun Yue has tested positive for monoucleosis and it is likely to put his Laker career on a hold for a short while. He's expected to miss training camp and there is no timetable for his return. Here's a look at the burning questions in the West. Questions include Allen Iverson's future with his Nuggets, Josh Howard's dissing of the land we love and Monta Ellis' ridiculous moped riding skills.
Cant say the Williams thing surprises me too much. He's fought injuries for awhile. He's one a ring, and he doesn't want to play for the Clipp...
Glad Jason Williams wont be a Clipper. Hopefully that frees them up to bring Livingston back. I got some Clipper tickets the other day, will suck to watch him play for Portland when I go to that game.
The Marbury thing is old news. Thats been reported for months. Nice idea by Donnie to try and get something of value for Steph. With Dolan unwilling to buy out the 21.9m left on Marburys contract I would just stick him at the end of the bench and explain to him that if he opens his mouth Im filing a grievance and you wont get jack. But NBA GM's are a bunch of wusses so it'll never go down that way. I also found out Eddy McFlurry is at it again. Id put a team official by each McDonalds in the area and let Eddy know if hes caught there he gets beaten, then sat on by the other useless slug Jerome James. Eddy Curry has reportedly shown up to training camp out of shape and may not be guaranteed a starting job in Mike D'Antoni's high-speed offense. It's not shocking that he's out of shape given the fact that he's not only Eddy Curry, but also had knee surgery in March. As for who would start at center, it sure won't be Jerome James. So that means (if EC can't go) that Zach Randolph or David Lee would likely be moved into the middle, which is great news for Lee. The Knicks' training camp is going to be a circus again, but maybe something good will come out of it this time. Source: New York Post
In this offense I like him him better at C then Curry for sure. He may be a fat malcontent but at least he has talent.
Now there's something you hear....every preseason.... There goes his playing time. Looks like he'll be bench or NBADL for a bit.
NBA News Runs Wild On You! Stars On The Block? There may be big names traded according to an NBA executive. The Boston Globe is reporting that Knicks Stephon Marbury, Nets Vince Carter, Nuggets Allen Iverson, Warriors Al Harrington and Hawks Mike Bibby may all be on the trading block. There have been reports in the past about Carter possibly leaving the Nets while Stephon Marbury looks to end his troubled time in NY. Harrington was mentioned in trade talks earlier this off-season and Bibby was acquired by Atlanta last season, where he helped lead the team into the playoffs. Heats Wade Clears The Air Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade says the report that said he would love to play in New York under Mike D'Antoni was incorrect. Wade said he would love to retire as a Heat player and Miami is where he "wants to be." Wade is a possible free agent in 2010. Its Not The Coach, Its The GM? Earlier this off-season, while Hawks forward Josh Smith was on the market, reports came out saying that Smith and coach Mike Woodson had a rift. Smith says those reports are false and it is a non-issue. However, Smith has expressed his displeasure on the team letting Josh Childress go to Greece. He's not happy about it and there may be something (I don't know, maybe a rift?) between him and GM Rick Sund. Gallinari Out For Preseason? The New York Post is reporting that Knicks top pick Danilo Gallinari may be out the entire preseason due to a sore back that he suffered in summer camp. Gallinari is expected to miss training camp as well. New Head Coach Mike D'Antoni had this to say on the rookies injury situation, "The way we play, a guy sitting for two months without running, I don't want to do that to him." Knicks President Had Cancer Surgery The New York Post is reporting that Knicks President Donnie Walsh had surgery to remove a cancer in his tongue after the NBA draft. Walsh is almost back to his normal state of health. We wish Walsh the best in the future. Kings Unveil New Jerseys This off-season seems to be a jersey-changer in the NBA. First the Timberwolves, then the Hornets, after that the Magic update theirs and now its the Kings turn. A week after they made headlines by giving Francisco Garcia a $30 milion dollar deal, the Kings unveiled their updated jerseys. The millionaire Garcia said they're great but we'll see how they are when we sweat. They are shown below.
Walsh dropped a 50 year smoking habit after that surgery. The Galinari stuff is old news.... Nice job though Alen
Allan Houston making return to Knicks in training camp That still has to be the most ridiculous contract I've ever seen in the NBA.
Yeh the Houston thing blows my mind, in related news, I heard they contacted Walt Frasier about a comeback....
willis reed is coming back also. Even with a walker he'd be more effective defensively then Eddy Curry.
Inflated contract on a big I can understand a bit more but inflated contract for a one-dimensional SG?
Man he's been making a comeback for like three years now. Allan needs to realize there's a problem in Houston and just let it go man, let it go...
I can see why he doesnt want to let it go though. He didnt finish his career the way he wanted to. But, his window has passed, but if NY is willing to sign him to play 5 minutes a game more power to him.
Heat GM Resigns Heat Top Pick Suffers Injury O'Neal Believes Raptors Have A Shot Blame Avery? Warriors In The Market For A PG Gordon On Training Camp: "I'll Be There"
Wow, I don't know how you can blame a guy like Avery Johnson. He instilled the kind of discipline and defense that teams crave for. I'd love to have a guy like him help out our defense. He made Dallas go from D-fenseless to D-fense. I like the Raptors odds. They have a very good team that's just missing a playmaking SG. In the East they'll make the playoffs if healthy but I don't think they can really contend unless things really go well and the utilization of Bosh is the same as it was in the Olympics. O'Neal and Bosh are one of the best frontcourt duos, Moon's aggressive and hard-working, Calderon's a good passer, and Bargnani/Kapono/Parker can shoot well for their positions. I like them as a dark-horse candidate for the Conference Championships.
i'm so excited for the season...even the preseason! i cant wait to watch greg, rudy, and jerryd..haha the blazers have 2 rookies that would start on most teams, as rookies....damn i cant wait
I'm excited to see the lineup of Fisher, Bryant, Odom, Gasol, and Bynum out on the floor. Still got a few holes at PF to figure out (unless Powell surprises) and Kupchak must have a hard on for 6-5 tweener guards because we're overloaded with them and he keeps piling more onto the team (Von Wafer anyone?).
Waste of a 2nd round pick. Blazers have been picking up Laker castoffs for years so I'm not surprised Wafer landed there.
um..they traded turaen green for him, he was an expiring contract. it was a good trade..nice try though cough brian grant cough
Wafer's still a Laker castoff whether the Blazers traded for him (horrible idea) or picked him up. Trash is trash and Blazers still ended up with him. Nice try.
I wouldn't trade a taco for Wafer so as bad as Green's been, I think Wafer's worse. Of course, that's because Monta Ellis was drafted right after and he was the guy I wanted.
lets see, tuarean green who was never playing but had a guaranteed contract, for von wafer who never played and was expiring..if you wouldn't do that trade your crazy..theres this thing called cap space, every little bit helps
I'd rather get a 2nd rounder than get Wafer. Yea, you could say cap space but both of them were in their last years of their contracts. Blazers' last-minute trade is 'a tiny little deal' - Behind The Blazers Beat - The Oregonian - OregonLive.com
my bad on that. i thought they signed him for 2 years...second rounders? the blazers have like 4 next year, they would have more but you can only have so many..we dont need second round picks
Well, there can be some bargains if you pick right. And haven't you learned from the Dolphins that you can never have too many draft picks?
