Yes, I know. But with no playoff success in like 2 decades, my goal is no longer just make the playoffs. They need to be competitive.

I still hold to what I said a month or two ago, if this team wins enough to make the playoffs, and they are at least competitive (we don't get blown out), then I will absolutely back away from the drum I've been beating, and will say that this team can get it done, I was wrong for wanting to blow it all up.

Until they show up against real teams I will not be a believer. They will not be playing 4-13 team in the playoffs.
You know how dumb I was?I put $100 down on phins making SB.I was thinking maybe everyone was right thinking if we didn't have all the injuries we could have beat the Ravens or Bills at end.of last season.
I knew I lost bet when they got thier lunch money taken by the Bills in week 2.
Team in 3 years comes up small in big moments. This is just the reality of it.
We need to invest in the trenches like the Damm eagles do.Jalen Hurts is not a great QB but they have a great line!
Chris Grier and probably McDaniel do not beleive in that philosophy.Speed will only get you so far.

The Dolphins weren't "blown out" in the playoffs two years ago. They lost by 3 with a backup quarterback in Buffalo.

Last year was an impossible situation with the weather and playing with a pickup team on the offensive line and defense.

That Barfalo game and our short run afterwards brought hope and excitement indeed, what happened afterwards not so much….

I don’t blame anyone for being pissed off at this team and regime.

    I am too..

can only take it one year at a time and see where we are.

You guys just rehash the same thing over and over again. Week after week. It gets old. It’s been old. Fire Grier. Fire McDaniels. Can’t beat good teams. Can’t win in the cold. Just give it a rest. Geez. Or come up with something in the least part or remotely NEW or EVEN insightful.

Year by year is the way to go. This team has nothing in common with the teams of 6+ years ago (except Grier and that’s why I want him gone) so why worry about those years? Sure it’s a great talking point for the national media, and other AFCE teams fans that like to bash each other, but why concern ourselves about the last playoff win? I’m concerned about right now and the possibility of getting into the playoffs, or just winning the next two teams. And every win my favorite team gets makes me happy. If wins don’t make a person happy then why be a fan? I mean, some teams haven’t been in the playoffs in forever, and have never even won a SB, should we get mad at the fans of those teams?

They typically parrot the sports media because they don’t really understand the game or the NFL. Some admittedly don’t even watch other games besides the Dolphins so they aren’t really football fans.

In the past 10 years something like 5-6 teams have won a SB out of 32 teams. If a SB is the ONLY thing that makes a person happy are they really rooting for realistic things? Sure, a SB is the hope each season, but every win should be celebrated.

I think we’ve given them the three year window to see where we are.

Mad and disappointed is all I got right now at the end of year three.

so like you I’m out on Grier, McDaniel is coming back so I hope he can win the next two.

but then it’s like double secret probation for next year.. cause he’s the one I’m mad at most.

Yes, when you have a HC that doesn’t progress you should think about moving on. IMO, 3 years ain’t enough unless that HC is winning just a handful of games each year. That hasn’t been the case for McD. He’s done well with the hand he’s been dealt and has produced one of the more exciting teams in all of the NFL who has been capable of beating anyone. A few less injuries and a better OL would have had this team in a much better position these last three years. McD isn’t without blame, he’s new and learning, but overall he’s been a really good HC and has won a lot of games.

Imo, they are not capable of "beating anyone," given their 1-10 record against winning teams.

Until that changes, I just can't agree.

So we just shouldn't talk about problems we see?

I mean, what I see is that when we bring up some of these issues, we generally get told that we're overreacting, or we don't know football. So then, how can we ever have a discussion, if one side is just being dismissed by the other?

To me, this whole discussion boils down to one side feeling like they aren't being heard.

Win out, be competitive in the playoffs, and I'll come to your side.

Again, who has said that we have to "win the Super Bowl" to be happy? Competitive in the playoffs has been said. But winning enough to get a Wildcard, then get trounced?

That's nothing to be excited for, imo.

Especially after the tear down where Grier promised big things! I just can’t get behind Grier anymore I’ve seen enough and it’s not like there is relegation where your team actually loses big time. As long as Grier is here, they‘ve got to prove it to me when somebody else is taking over different story.

I can see those angles buried in the personal evolvement, but as you know going into the season I has serious philosophical questions but was willing to allow them to manifest, wanted to see if his unconventional style of leadership and training of his players would work.

all I can say is I certainly didn’t see those philosophies manifest in year 3.

same questions are there, however one absolutely unequivocally needs to change and that’s how this team trains practices and warms up.

You know where I stand there so don’t want to bore the board but if I see otas being taking off and camp practices shortened and if I don’t see any players working individually on their games after practice I’m gonna do something in camp to make it known how I feel :)

That was the number that was given in the broadcast last week...and we beat a team with a losing record, so the 1-10 wouldn't have changed.

It's not his ENTIRE career, cause in his entire career, the Dolphins with Tua as QB are 7-14 against teams with a winning record.

Who compiled those stats?? First of all, if you plug in your numbers you get a passer rating of 83.6 not 84.3 so right off the bat something is wrong.

But the stats are wrong as far as I can tell. This is what I'm getting from 2022 (only including data with McDaniel):

    6-14 record (including playoff game)
    432/653 = 66.2%
    4819 yards = 241 per game
    31 TD = 1.55 per game
    19 INT = 0.95 per game
    91.7 passer rating

Tua plays at average level against winning teams, which actually is above average performance considering the competition.

I'm attaching the data I'm using. Maybe you should too so we can see where the discrepancy is because that's a huge discrepancy.

Yep, just listening to sports media. Figures. The broadcast last week also said that the only way the Dolphins get in was if the Colts lose a game. They give half truths, or flat out lie or use hyperbole all the time, and lazy people refuse to do a little fact checking and take what they say as gospel.

That is true...A solid offensive line would make Tua, the running game, and the entire offense that much better. Having a consistent ground game would be amazing.

91.7 vs. 83.6 is not a small thing! That's the difference between Tua playing above average given the competition, which means his terrible W/L record against winning teams is mostly due to other players, versus playing poorly and being a major factor in the losses.

What the correct stats show (the ones I posted, unless someone can find a flaw in those) is that Tua is not the problem, on average of course (individual games excepted). BIG difference.

It’s one thing to post something that’s not factual on rare occasions, but there is a way to verify things you read online and not be wrong nearly every time.

In my opinion, the truth and facts aren’t “small things”.

Yes they are consistently soft, and yes I do agree that stems from some terrible philosophies from the head coach and some poor roster construction

were behind the bills, chiefs, Packers, ravens, even the Texans

you can just watch these games and see the physicality the game is being played by those teams.

INSESENTLY no. You all have talked it. And talked it. Every week. No one stopped you. Be of course you’re gobsmacked by the comment which says mucky. Try something new. Everyone understands your position. It hasn’t changed and you offer nothing new or no new insightfulness. At some point become just a little self aware.

    That’s their schtick.

Make things up, flat out lie, claim they never said (or didn’t mean) what they clearly wrote, and repeat themselves ad nauseum.

Then cry when others point out their lies and incorrect posts while claiming they are being attacked and not allowed to have their opinions while they whine about others giving their own opinions that refute theirs.

Rinse and repeat over and over and over…
