I was at the 49ers @ Minny Monday night game last year. The stadium was at least 50% 49er fans. They travel well and are everywhere.
Awesome! Glad to see the Dolphins won when they had to, even if playoff chances are slim. Worst thing is if they just gave up.
Good win. Need some help getting into the postseason. Need wins from the Bengals, Patriots, and Ravens next week. We have Cleveland....Should be able to beat them. Our chances are slim at this point.
A win that turns into a HUGE loss if it helps keep Grier around. Beating a wounded 9er team changes nothing about how bad the OL is for Miami or how they cannot beat a winning team. Sad, when you have mixed feelings about winning a game when it hurts the team in the long run.
I never have mixed feelings about a win. The Dolphins are beat up, too. We beat the 49ers with Purdy, Deebo, most of their starting defense, and 4/5th of their OL. And that’s even with no WR’s catching anything and needing their RB and TE to catch the ball.
Look, we’ll all know that as long as Grier is the GM, the Dolphins are only going to go so far. That doesn’t mean we stop rooting for our team to win.
The Miami defense gave up over 300 yards passing and nearly 100 yards rushing. They played well, but let’s not pretend that all phases didn’t play well today (except Holland and Tyreek) and that any one outperformed the other.
Probably the most complimentary game of football played by the entire team today minus the receivers. Two cold weather games games coming up. If for anything, a little experience for game planning and playing in that weather would be beneficial to this coaching staff and core moving forward. Get two wins and maybe you get lucky that another team collapses. I've seen it happen. lol
Unlucky made a good point. Cleveland is out and they may be looking for a high draft pick. If they lose out there’s a chance they could even get the #1 pick. So maybe they’ll not play hard next week? Lol
lol.. one can already see how some might use that as an excuse if the Dolphins do well — the opponent wasn't even trying. I don't think that's too realistic though. You saw with Tennessee and NE today how teams that could theoretically play to lose to get a higher draft pick actually play to win (NE almost beat the Bills). Dolphins did the same thing when they were in the Suck for Luck sweepstakes. We won too many games because individual players and coaches play to win, with very few exceptions. Also, the same argument would work against us because Indy plays the worst team in the league, the 2-13 Giants, and then a 3-13 Jaguars team, and we need them to lose one of those.
I agree. Just thought I’d throw it out there. If the Chargers lose out, Denver loses out, and Colts win out (as long as Miami wins out) Miami will get in. I think Denver loses to KC and Bengals. I think Chargers will lose one of their next two. In this scenario, we would definitely need the Colts to lose their next two.
I really enjoyed watching Tua today. Trade reek and get him two guards, another tight end and a power back And help on D and and Holland can go kick rocks too aka Fangio style saw krabbs post the same thing which means he saw some bad **** out there today like all of us did
Even with injuries, when this team plays complimentary football, they are hard to beat. It seems, however, we either get one or two groups playing well while the other one or two plays badly. The Tua haters will not give Tua any credit for this win, but if his WR's actually catch some perfectly placed balls Tua has over 250 yards passing, multiple TD's and a 113+ passer rating. Tua has played elite nearly all season. This team's issues are injuries, safety, and OL. The DL is on par, if not better than last season. Chop is playing like the best rookie DE in the league. Tua is playing lights out. His stupidity in not protecting himself cost us games. Which is a big concern. Special teams, sans Sanders, is absolutely trash. The FA's brought in this year are fantastic....Smith, Cambell, Brooks, to name a few, are playing at a very high level. Holland needs to go. Poyer has been a huge let down. Not having Wynn, as today showed, has really hurt the run game (along with losing Jackson). Something is wrong with Tyreek. I don't know if he's checked out, has the yips, or is injured, but he's not himself. Today, Tua didn't have Waddle... and Tyreek couldn't catch a cold. Yet Achane and Smith stepped up. Tua was nearly mistake free. Wynn and Paul played great. Sanders has been a monster all season.
Ok, no one flame me for this, it's just an idea and I don't know if it's already a thing or not but don't the Dolphins have an indoor training facility where they could imitate a cold climate? You know like you get these indoor ski slopes, with real snow and minus temperatures? Wouldn't it be beneficial to get a dome facility like that where they could drop the temperature, have a wind machine, a snow machine etc to train, and scrimmage prior to some cold weather road trips? Maybe they have, I dunno? Like I said, don't flame me, just the ramblings of an old Limey madman, LOL.
The Dolphins do have an indoor training facility. Whether or not they could adjust the temperature and climate conditions in that facility to simulate harsh winter conditions, I don't know. I don't believe THAT particular facility could sustain those temperatures...after all, it's not Ski-Dubai in the Emirates Mall lol. Even if it could though, I don't know what going from one extreme weather condition to another (freezing training facility to hot humid outdoors) would do to the players physically, but I do get your point. I've wondered about it from time to time myself.
I'm pretty sure it was the week of practice before going up to Buffalo last year they had the AC turned down as low as it would go and it was in the mid 50s. There's only so much you can do when the outside temperature is 80 - 90 degrees. What they need to do is buy a practice facility in Moscow for the last month of the season.
Reek has always been pretty reliable. Maybe that wrist is worse than its being portrayed. These are easy catches and I’ve seen him make so many contested catches before. He may need surgery after the season. He’s going to be here at least one more year. His cap number would accelerate too much if they traded him next year. We could move on after next year but hopefully he returns to his reliable self.
