He’s getting better and better What makes that completion percentage even more impressive is the degree of difficulty of throws is upper echelon, the ypa is over 7 1/2 yards which is great but we all know he does all this faster than anyone ever has from snap to release. he’s on a bender right now since returning and trending up. The weight loss despite some wanting him to stay that way or thinking it wouldn’t help his game were incorrect, he’s moving so much better and confident. Glad he finically realized that. what I’m seeing in his evolvement and what gives me hope during this frustrating season is I can see when he does get protection you can see him moving his feet so fast and going through his progression so fast then we know what happens, laser like historic accuracy. so that makes me feel whoever is drafting hopefully they see if they protect him better with some more talent he will just shred. Tua has unequivocally killed a very old narrative that was most popular, we can now see that the receivers do not make Tua who he is, it is the opposite as some of us keeps saying over and over, I say that because I think we can now sell an asset to gain some more assets and create some more balance in the team, bottom line with Tua being the quickest most accurate passer in the game he can elevate any skill players he plays with. We see that now. hope to see some acknowledgement of that killed narrative. The next topic is in this division, that unicorn in upstate NY, I have hope now that because of Tua’s evolvement and precision we can use assets for the defense to try and contain that guy and still be good on offense. I’m still gonna hope we can finish this run because Tua is making it exciting to watch this team play. He obviously needs help on the line and a lot more on Defense. Maybe we trade Reek for some extra picks and get that help.

He's on his 3rd consecutive statistically elite season. The passing stat that correlates most to winning is passer rating and he was #1 in 2022, #5 in 2023 and currently #3. If he ends the season this way there's no denying it: he is elite. QB isn't the problem on this team. We need a better defense and a better OL.
I agree. He's far from the problem. The answer to what puts us into the upper echelon of the league can be found in A. Upgrading the offensive line, and B. Improving our defense.

I have been pretty neutral on Tua for a long time. I have faith in him, but am also often disappointed as well. He's the best we've had in a very long time, but I've also had my reservations in key moments. I just sit back everyday and watch you die hards battle over 1 side of the line or the other with my popcorn . My biggest concern, even with all the flashy stuff, is that he often falls short in the big moments. I just dont get the feeling that when the game is on the line, that he can consistently take over the game in the last drive and put a team away. That killer mentality to be the closer. That being said, last night he marched down the field with limited time and put points on the board when we needed it most (I believe at the half and the end of regulation). And then when it mattered most, he took the game and said "time to put this thing away" and carved them up with a great drive and with a very hard TD throw to seal the win. My heart was physically thumping out of my chest when that ball was in the air. I was impressed with how he played yesterday and happy to see it. I also have started him in my fantasy league for the last 3 games (something that has often bit me in the past) and he has some through for me over the last month. 12-1 baby #1 seed Anyway, a happy dolphins fan today...now do it in the cold...against teams with winning records and on the road...and ill probably buy a Tua jersey lol.
He did “it” in the cold, on the road, and against a winning team just last week. He had a 114 passer rating against the Packers. The team let him down.
Mahomes and Allen are wining these close games with their their legs in big 3rd down conversions Tua is gonna have to win the Tom Brady way on those downs Tua is absolutely elite from the pocket we just need some more stability and talent on the line to protect t and do a better job in the run game. this will exploit his skill set even better
The tell tale sign that our offensive line is so horrible was the 1st and goal play after the pass interference call. Miami has the ball on the 1/2 yard line and McDaniel rightfully calls a run up the gut. The offensive line has ALL of the advantage, they only need to push 1/2 yard, 18 inches, they have the snap count and what happened? Achane was dropped for a 1 1/2 yard loss. THAT is utterly unacceptable!!! As long as Grier is the GM, short yardage plays such as that will continue to elude us.

To get that done, Tagovailoa will almost certainly have to break another legend's record first. Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana completed at least 70 percent of his passes in eight consecutive games during the 1989 season. That's a streak of efficiency even Brees never matched. Tagovailoa is now at seven consecutive starts at 70 percent or better. With two more efficient performances, Tagovailoa could eclipse Montana's streak and inch closer to potentially beating Brees' record too.

I do think think it needs to be looked at closely. what’s the best way to get better and tougher. is it through protecting Tua better, better run game, and just being a more physical team up front so you can go on the road in rough cold environments and lets those guys set the tone of the game and play a more simple kind of game instead of what we try and do. I also think a conversation needs to be had as to what’s left for Tua to get better at and how can we help his weaknesses as a team. he’s elite at a lot of Qb traits right now 1) Anticipation 2) Accuracy 3) Speed of play 4) Ball handling and footwork relative to ball handling 5) arm release quickness what’s left for me anyways is I’ve always said that to win a superbowl the qb will have to make great individual plays on the way to win the trophy, doesn’t have to be runs like how Mahomes and Allen win and convert critical plays, but quick precise movements in or out of the pocket that avoid incoming pressure and either reset and throw or run. So my line of thinking here is I think it’s now safe to say after years of debating that Tua doesn’t need great receivers to perform at a high level, I believe he can now measure any skill set and elevate that player, so that being said what’s the best way to build the team moving forward. so if you do upgrade one of the two guard positions and that helps protect him better it mitigates his opportunities where he would have to avoid pressure, to me that’s one of his weaknesses, that first step to avoid is a little late and a little slow. I think just because Tua gets rid of the ball faster than anyone doesn’t mean good protection has been applied on that play. I also see a more calm better going through reads Tua when protection has held up and he needs to move off of the first or 2nd read. I do see your point though and just say ok we’re gonna roll with Austin, Brewer and Paul, keep the guards in constant flux of average play and low cap hit and use the assets we do have for the Defense.
I just hope we somehow make the playoffs. I feel like if Tua continues to stay this hot we could be that Cinderella team that goes on an improbable run.
Until he beats the Chiefs in January in their stadium, I don't want to talk about him. Oh...And he needs to beat them all by himself while throwing 100% on his completions and the final score needs to be 48-0 in favor of us. All unrealistic expectations aside, he's playing well and he's staying on his feet. Focus on improving the OLine in the off-season and he'll be even better.

Yeah his impact is undeniable. We do need to show up the rest of the month though. He's got to come through in the colder months of the season. Sunday will be a huge test for him against the Texans. Beat them and we might all start to believe in the postseason.

What’s getting me excited on Sundays is seeing the ceiling of the Qb evolve. I don’t believe they can win out but I’m interested to see how far Tua can take them
He’s having a great run right now. But…in big games he does miss some throws at critical times. I know his percentages. I get it. But sometimes when he really needs it he doesn’t get it done. It’s a little of the eyeball factor and it’s easy for me to say sitting in my man cave in 70 degree weather eating chicken wings yelling at the tv. I agree that if he just had an upgraded line, the extra time that allows will OPEN up the field like no other.
I did. It seemed like he either short armed the throw or didn't see the open guy. Again it's easy to say when you don't have 325 pound guess bearing down on you that I, would have made that throw or I, would have seen that open receiver.
Tua and the Dolphins have the best weapons in the NFL. Hill, Waddle, Achane, Smith... every NFL team would take them.
He does but he has no running game atm, the D is not as good as the stats suggest and his line is decimated and wasn’t good to begin with, but he’s getting paid the big bucks. I would like to see that killer instinct in him, the game against the Stajs was a good start, where he took the team down the field when it mattered most.
Not questioning that. When he doesn't make the throw it seems like its at a bad time. Again its very subjective on my part on throws I think should have been made.
Yeah, hard to criticize the offense and Tua when they are near the top of the league in scoring (with Tua), but the defense gives up even more points.
I hate this Green Bay take. The Dolphins were one yard and a couple of stupid play calls by McDaniel from potentially making it a 27-19 game with 11 minutes left. The game was well in hand up until that goal line stand by Green Bay.
